pkern
Bach's Brandenburg Concertos - reflects both classical romanticism and baroque edgeness, and it's one of my personal favorites.Kind of Blue, Miles Davis - the best of jazz, audible emotionElvis Presley's greatest hits - from jazzy southern blues to rock n' rollBob Dylan - not sure which album - (I'd rather include The White Album but I don't want to break the no Beatles rule...) - how lyrics became paramount again, music becomes about the message, not the melody.Public Enemy - Nation of Millions - the word and beat finally meet on equal terms... mugwump
Here's mine: **VIVALDI (The Four seasons)** Explains the power of SOUND waves that translate into ideas without WORDS (or Lyrics).... MUSIC can feel like WINTER, or Spring! Brilliant!~ **JOHN CAGE** Imaginary Landscapes no.01 a composition for recordings of pure frequency tones played on variable speed turntables.. (Shows the range of Sound manipulation) **Elvis*** To show the power of POP and how silly humans can be with "THE SINGER ICON" phenomenon **Le Mystere Des VOIX BULGARES I ** The Beauty of the human voice in chants.. PURE emotion without true dictated lyrics Miles Davis "A kind of Blue" Gotta jazz em out at some point.. (props to who ever mentioned this one)(Runners up: Kraftwerk, Donna summers, Juan Atkins, the ORB, BT/ESCM) Then I'd probably be killed and eaten while all four CDs play at once.. blowflyii
Oh and to the idiot who couldn't think of more than three, needs another genre, and hates Bob Dylans voice, you need to get off the board and do some serious listening. I just cannot decide.....however, you are right I do need to listen more...I will assume you weren't trying to be mean because you have no motivation to be..with that said, I sincerely doubt you are more schooled in music than I. I challenge you, hehe.

djmikedr
Since another civilization probably wont be able to single out details of one type of music to another I will simply by using temp first.1. Somthing CLASSICAL (soft, mellow, with a nice melody)2. Something Pop, pure light, but catchy, WITH vocals3. Something Techno (represting fast, but no vocals4. Something Hard Rock/Metal (for speed and harsh-ness of sound)and Finally 5. Weird Al Yankovick, to show that we even make fun of (in a light way) other types of music, and we want to laugh.
