Totally agree, but the barriers to doing this are many and it would be probably taken over by the same guido dj's you got working right now in NJ. Most club owners seem to only want to go with a known quantity. They are not very big on trying something very different from what is already happening.

That has been my experience anyway.

Now I've been playing nice shouldn't you start by doing the same?? Now, calling New Jersey DJ's guido's isnt polite. Just beacuse the majority of them are Italian and have a residency and are better than you doesn't mean you have to be bitter and start name calling. OK. Now be a good boy, I'm watching.

jersey clubs need to have their own original profile

most of them are like NYC - venue - wannabes

I have no problem with Italian DJs...

I have a problem with the so-called "club music directors"

who won't even give someone a chance and the only reply they give is "sorry, but we have a resident DJ and we don't want you here"...

I understand "quality" but what about something like "open booth night" where any DJ with mixing skills can come over and try out to move the crowd... it should be more about "i'll let you play your set at my residency, and then you'll let me play my set at your place" type of thing...

peace...

wouldn't want to go to a club and hear nobody's but no offense, put under pressure causes problems. go to a club to hear quality all night long. may not be as good as the city but still better than when i am at afterhours and hear friends play. what nj needs is to maintain what they have and keep it clean, better lookin croud. the crowd has changed. used to be just the beautiful , and buff guys. go there and even i feel big. always used to feel small. the scene is growing to big for quality people to always be at the smae place. need to go back to UNDERGROUND. maybe jersey could be the place. so someone open up something and not tell many besides the select few. the ones who love the music, the ones who go after pregame and before the sunday morning. sat night should be the better night considering sunday madness. just my 2cents. don't like it then oh well. and besides i go to a place where it is just us and is perfect. hope it doesnt grow to big and let in the ones in who ruin it, not really ruin but u know what i mean. newbies who know it all. keep dancin and be safe.

KOSTA! BUDDY! WHERE YOU BEEN?

I'll take back the Guido comment, because your right, not all the lame DJ's in NJ are Italian.

I am not saying all DJ's in NJ are lame ( some a very very good ie Richie Rydell, Kirk Lopez and others), just that not all the lame DJ's in NJ are italian. There plenty of other ethnicities that spawn mediocre DJ's.

Second point: Why pursue a residency when I can play out twice a month and not get stressed out about dealing with shady promoters, club managers, club owners, etc.

Did you forget that I am booked in Venezuela at the end of December and the beginning of January? If I am so bad why do I already have half the money for those bookings in my bank account?

If I am so bad why was I the ONLY jersey jock to play the GROOVE RADIO booth at WMC in Miami. I didn't see any of your friends getting on the tables poolside at WMC in front the whole international DJ community. By the way I went on right after Timo Maas for my set, so in a way you could say he opened for me, or that I closed for him. However you would like to view that.

If your guys are better and I am so much worse than them, why aren't they doing those kinds of gigs when I am?

Ive been telling ppl, AC will be the the nyc of NJ soon, just give it time...There is an article in this months Cigar AFicianado mag. 24 hour drinking, sick djs, big time club owners, beach, trains, parkway, no fucking 10 dollar bridges or tunnels and plus what dj would turn down a job at the taj where they give him 2k and a free room...Mark my words, AC will rule NJ someday and it will dent NYC, South NJ and pHilly are starting to get out of the dark ages when it comes to fashion and music and clubs. NYC is played, exit or factory or a 50 cover.....thats it...Seadside is going no where, when Asbury park opens next year it will dent seaside again. 2 club owners is not good for clubbers down there. Only hurts the consumer when there is little or no competition. Whitetrash have ruined SSH so ppl are gonna look further south for fun! 5 huge casions are in the works for AC next years....that ghetto trash is being forced out.......

What about the Paradox? I went there for the KTU broadcast last Saturday--had a blast. They had three rooms. One was Hip Hop, one was club, plus a band room with a DJ. All the DJs were good but the club DJ was off the hook.

Linda Lopes is HOT!!!

For those of us that live in North Jersey... AC is about three hours away, I much rather take the 15 minute drive into NYC!

QUOTE]Yeah Paradox is like a smaller version of Webster Hall. The only thing keeping them from being huge, and this is true of most NJ clubs, is the closing time. I think they start kicking you out at 1:30 and that is just too early.

I'll tell you why goodfella and sayno your wrong...where I live, so does ceotter , jbr, cosmic, and many more, when we go to the city its about a 2 hour hike. depending on traffic and time we go, my commute was 2.5 hours each way when I worked in NYC. trust me, when the train service is up and running you could drive to like longbranch, get on a train and your there in 1.5 hours..Plus hotels down there are only 30 bucks a night for a decent room....
