gqraver
'Luahns' on 5th Ave off of12th St is classy, no hood, hip-hop. Not crazy amount of space, but decent. They're pretty strick about girl/guy ratio, so don't go with a bunch of dudes. Also 'Sugar' in Tribeca on Church off of walker is decent, hot people and music was OK.peace
reign
Good looking out....Hard finding mixed crowds that have hip hop or reggae, they are either really small...or one lilj small room with a bigger club...

reign
Carib is a really good spot but it way in New Rochelle and you have to get dressed up dressed up..which I don't mind..but sometimes you don't want a big ordeal....I never seen any fightsI been to Carib a bunch of times...Jimmy's...Big Club...VERY crowded...one time I went and I was on coat check for AN HOUR and a HALF. Good music butBad thing about jimmy's is that it is very clicky. Wanna be big Willy's go there flossing with alize in the roped section. The guys there are all standing around trying to get with the girls..and the girls are all standing around trying to be to cute and get drinks....The dance floor is huge but most of the people are just standing around....Another thing is any club with just one floor is not to good because you want to have a variety..some times you want to hear salsa and merengue, sometimes you want hip hop and reggae....you show have at least two different rooms...The bar is ridiculous...you gotta drop kick people to walk by..Thats the problem when a place gets to popularAll ... ALOT of fights..I actually had blood splatter on me...So as you can tell I haven't been to Jimmy's in a minute, did I mention my car window got smashed there also?I was hoping there are some new places just starting to blow up..like E'toile on w56 and park. Or Club Joy, kaligirl you might like those places....
kaligirl
I didn't notice any of those things when I was there. Never that crowed either. But then again I was in the roped section drunk of my ass. My frinds and I usually buy bottles(not to floss) but becuase its cheaper that way. I thought it was alright. Thanks, I might check out those other palces u mentioned. Its so hard to find a good hip hop club nowdays.
Guest funkysoul
I have never been to this place, but I heard Club Shadow on 28th Street & 8th Ave. is an upscale hip hop club. I think you actually have to wear nice clothes when going in.
reign
funky ...its a good club with good music and a reggae room..the crowd is older though...late 20's early 30'sand you gotta gete TOO dressed up sometimes..can't relaxI went there on a Thursday because its FREE on thursdays...I'm not hating or nothing...But I swear every girl in there was 350lbs +(shudder)I'm loooking for the the hip hip/r&b version of EXIT. I was a bit drunk, but I had good fun there with some peeps, I was the only white guy there but had no probs, but I can groove to the beat
nyc420
I checked out Joe's Pub two weeks ago and it had a great upscale hip hop/reggae scene. I've been to some good hip hop parties at Cream too, I think Sat night is the night to go there.
crystalmethod
YepCream is good (I know, I used to throw the fridays there)Nice lil hip hop room for that...Also try Lulu's Parlor I always had a great time there!-Steve
reign
willandslater...where is 54?gqraver, lol, do your thing.nyc420...Your right Joe's Pub is good on Sats, if you were there 2 weeks ago I think I was there. Bald head black guy in all black, but that's like 1/3 of the room crystalmethod..Cream is really good..really relaxed loung/club vibe...and the dj is usually good...why can't there be a hip hop counter part to exit?the tunnel and the old paladium was the closet thing..is there anything like that again?
