rachel1997
New York Driving RulesTurn signals will give away your next move. A real Long Islanddriver never uses them. Use of them in Massapequa may be illegal.Under no circumstances should you leave a safe distance betweenyou and the car in front of you, or the space will be filledin by somebody else putting you in an even more dangerous situation.Crossing two or more lanes in a single lane-change is considered"going with the flow."The faster you drive through a red light, the smaller the chanceyou have of getting hit.Never get in the way of an older car that needs extensive bodywork.Braking is to be done as hard and late as possible to ensurhat yourABS kicks in, giving a nice, relaxing foot massage as the brakepedal pulsates. For those of you without ABS, it's a chanceto stretch your legs.Electronic traffic warning signs are not there to provide usefulinformation. They are only there to make Long Island lookhigh-tech, and to distract you from seeing the state policeradar car parked on the median.Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right.Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as suggestions, and are apparently not enforceable during rush hour.Always slow down and rubberneck when you see an accident,or even if someone is just changing a tire.Throwing litter on the roads adds color to the landscape andgives Adopt-a-Highway crews something to clean up.It is assumed that state police cars passing at high speedmay be followed in the event you need to make up a fewminutes on your way to work, or the beach.Heavy snow, ice, fog, and rain are no reasons to change anyof the previously listed rules. These weather conditions areGod's way of ensuring a natural selection process for bodyshops, junkyards, and new vehicle sales.

I am convinced that if I am following someone slow and am about to turn, using my signal ensures the slow person will stay in front of me and make that same turn. But if I fake to the other side, the slow car turns then I whip around, signal and make my turn and lose the slow bastard. BTW, fawkin conversion vans are the SCOURGE of the roadways!!! Slow pieces of shit can't manuever their way out of a paper bag, no less around the streets
ckayser
you forgot the biggest one of them all. When there is no one in the right or middle lane you must stay in the left lane of the appropriate highway. (Sunrise, Southern State Parkway, LIE) and procede to do 60 so that no one can pass you, you wouldnt want anyone to ruin your drive now would you!argggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
