NY clubs - Missing london

Recommended Posts

Ok so I am sure you’ve all heard this before,

I am a guy from London who's living in Manhattan missing the clubbing scene at home. So what's the story with NYC? Why aren't the party's the same? Are there places that really go of? Is there anything like London's uplifting trance with a good crowd?

I’m missing the gallery and the cross – can any one help me?

Dunx

the vibe for deep dish last week was amazing!

dave seaman plays saturday, danny howells plays on the 30th, and sven vath on april 13th

thats best thing to do besides waiting for tall paul, darren christian, sister bliss and the rest of them to make their way over here

you wont find the vibe in nyc. its just not the same here. i'm not saying its worse or better, just not the same. uplifting trance has no home here, and the big clubs are nothing like the ones overseas. people are not as nice, not on as many drugs, more glamour-searching, and more self-centered

i think i kind of like it this way though. best bet in the US is to head down to Miami for next week and check out the WMC.

When I think of the uplifting trance scene in the London, I think of a friday night party called Escape from Samsara at The Fridge in Brixton. Absolutely awesome party, unfortunately you will not find that kind of vibe here in New York...

Agree with what was said above - the NY vibe is not any better or worse, its just different. VInyl has by far the best vibe in town, it's a prog vibe though (which I actually prefer).

Good luck m8.

you're only mostly right.

the vibe is definately there tucked away in smaller lounges and miniclubs.

i've always considered Baktun to be Bar Rhumba with a different layout.

but, also sadly true that there isn't a u.s. counterpart to The End.

Kris always makes sure to remind me regularly about how he hit the dnb clubs in the UK when he was over there, and how he was at the Kemi Tribute Party (R.I.P) and how he met Goldie, Etc Etc...

Lucky bastard! :D
