  6. Go back to Europe and don't come back. No one was sad to see u leave. We don't need your business. Miami, Like eveywhere else you go will be what u make of it. Your the type of person who finds the negative in everything and fails to enjoy the positive. U live a sad life and should be banned from Florida in general, the greatest state in the union.
  7. If this pans out and Crobar does it right as opposed to half-assed and underfunded this will entirely change the rules of the game... I'm excited. Good to see people spending money and making an investment. 8)

    Looking for DJs

I'll send u a demo. I need some time to put something new together. I work during the week so I'll need some time over the weekend plus i want to get some new beats for the cooljunke contest coming up as well. I've spinning for about 4 years now and have about 500 records many different styles. I mostly spin staright beats: House, Tribal House, Progessive House things of that nature. Let me know where i can send a CD. Matthew
  11. Do Technics 1200 turntables need to be re-calibrated every so often? Or is that just a myth. ??? ??? ??? If so where can I get it done and how much does it cost?

  13. Thanks, I'll be sure to check both those sites...
  14. Just found an online record store, groovetech.com. Anyone who has ever bought music online should check this site out. Long samples of all tunes, fast delivery and good charting system. I was using satelliterecords.com for awhile, but i like groovetch better.

Put local lawmakers on the "payroll" I'm sure the majority of the people on this board neither have the means nor the interest to meddle in local politics on this level. But, some people do and it does happen. The major players in this market such as club/bar owners, restaurant owners, hotel owners, and reatailors need to get their act together and nip this in the bud before it becomes a reality. I saw a municipality do the same thing to the city of Orlando in '97 and Gainsville a couple years later. In both cases the city ruined a good thing. I'm sure the people trying to enact these laws have greased the wheels somehow. It takes a concerted effort just to get issues on an agenda. Make it in the politicians best interests to make sure these laws don't get passed. What interest group is trying to get bars shut down early anyway?

    Matrix Reloaded

It was good...I wasn't as impressed with the special as i was with the first one. Good storyline though. I give it a 4 out of 5
  17. Couple weeks ago I approached Satellite Records about opening a Miami store to compliment their NYC, Boston, Atlanta and Cyberspace locations. They didn't think it was in their interests and told me no. I was offering to fully fund and operate the store. All I really needed from them was access to their distributors. They get good product and good product is essential for success in any business. I was willing to pay them at least 5% and would have given them up to 15% of my bottom line. I have about $30,000 and I'm still serious about doing this. I just need help. I have a business degree and understand the fundamentals of running a business. I know little about the record store business. I'm convinced that if some candy store owner in some mall somewhere can turn a profit selling jellybeans i can make this work. Especially in Miami. I was looking @ Downtown Miami for a location. Who are the distributors I would need to contact? How many major distributors are there? Are some better than others? Good product is essential for success. If anyone can help me with any of these issues it would be appreciated?

    SO CJ PEEPS!!!

Anything and Everything... Trance, progressive house, house, tribal, Breaks, D n B, garage, 2-step, Hip Hop, Rock...imported and domestic I don't discrminate. Putting restrictions and pre-judging different types of music will retard your ability to create or fully enjoy music...
  20. Also, I dont know if anyone was listening to 93.1 saturday night around 1 AM. Fatboy Slim was spinning records from somewhere. I was impressed never heard him spin brfore. Dropin beats, smooth mixes. Anyone know where i might be able to pick up one of his live DJ sets?

    NYC vs. Miami

Anyone else out there notice how much more "traffic" this board sees compared to the New York board. Miami has almost 10x the number of topics and 30x the number of posts. Pretty impressive. Why do u think that is? Is NYC club scene so dull that there is nothing to talk about? Are people in South Florida more sophisticated and in tune with an internet lifestyle? Not everyone gets broadband access. At least not yet. Big ups to everyone for making this forum the hottest CJ has to offer.
  22. Their not mp3's. Their encoded as aac files. Newer format created by dolby. Files downloaded from apple's music service will not work in an ordinary mp3 player. Players need AAC compadability also. From what i hear AAC is better tham mp3.
  23. Today apple debued it's new downloadable music service, bigger, sleeker ipods and itunes4. As of today the new service is only available to the mac faithful, but Windows users will have thier chance by years end. 99 cents per song 128 bit aac encoding, CD quality Fast reliable downloads currently 200,000 songs backing by all 5 major record companies Fully integrated with other apple products like imovie, iphoto and of course the ipod Is this the beginning of the end for "brick and mortar" CD stores or will this just fade into obsquirity like other pay download sites? As one of the Mac faithful i think Apple has hit the nail on the head and this is the just the tip of the iceberg, but I'm biased. What do u think?
  24. Promote, Promote, Promote U Have to hit the street and cyberspace like it's your job. I personally didn't know Stryke was playing anywhere, but that's not saying much. Good promotiong will get people in the door, keeping them there is another challenge. Good music, cheap booze, and a good vibe will usually do it.
