  5. Founded in February 2008, Killswitch is a weekly happy hour dedicated to featuring the Bay Area's finest underground techno and house talent. Founded by Stap[e DJ Javaight and Black Market Techno DJ dCOY, Killswitch has featured DJs such as Alland Byallo, Dave Aju, Jonah Sharp, Sutekh, Clint Stewart, Worthy, J.Phlip, Drumcell,Todd Sines and live PA's from Monocle, Auralism's Marc Smith, and Perla.* With the addition of new residents Mossmoss & David Siska, Killswitch has established itself as an end of the week hangout for heads, techno lovers and party people alike.* Kill off your week with the sound of the underground at Killswitch. At Killswitch, we're all about opening up ears and bending genres, so this week we're taking a trip into dubstep territory. Dubstep producer DJG of Narco.Hz & Blipswitch founder J.Rogers will be blurring the lines between techno and dubstep, while new Killswitch resident David Siska warms things up with his own signature deep and dirty style. About DJG: nbsp;** Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dean J. Grenier A.K.A DJG landed in the world of Dubstep in 2007 with his first 12" "Shadow Skanking" b/w "Joyful Sound" on Narco.Hz. Immediate support on Rinse FM and in the clubs from DJ's like N-Type propelled DJG to the forefront of American dubstep producers early in his career. High-profile releases continued in 2008 with his track "Lower 8" released on Tes La Rok's Noppa label, and with his track "Bender?s selection as Pressing Issues 002 by the populace on dubstepforum.com. In total, DJG had 5 releases in his first year as a dubstep producer. DJG's production style is richly melodic, emotive while full of groove and energy. Recognized early on for a more dubwise sound, DJG's recent productions have revealed an evolution in his music, getting deeper into bass-heavy, tech-drenched, soulful tracks like the much-anticipated February ?09 release "Bunker" b/w "Apophenia" on Tube10 and the forthcoming "The Gate" b/w "Obsessed" on Lo Dubs. DJs ranging from Mary Anne Hobbs, N-Type, Joe Nice, Pinch, Headhunter, Skream, RSD, 2562, Djunya, Random Trio and many more have been supporting DJG's recent and forthcoming releases on labels Narco.Hz, Subway Recordings, Tube10, Lo Dubs, Pushing Red, Blipswitch and Pure Filth amongst others. When DJG gets behind the decks, his passion for the music he plays is obvious. His enthusiasm for the deeper side of dubstep and his affection for dance floor selections makes each set a spontaneous combination of the highs and lows that the sound has to offer. About J. Rogers: Following his placing 3rd in the UK?s Muzik Magazine-Bedroom Bedlam Mix Competition in 2001 at the age of 17 (as the only American), Joe embarked upon a successful period on the Phoenix club circuit, playing all over and securing a residency at Club Freedom. Studies in composition, piano, and conducting began in 2002 at San Francisco State University, demanding the utmost dedication. A hard choice was made: the DJ world would have to wait.* As 2008 begins, j re-enters the world of electronic/dance armed with a B.M. in music composition. "Before, I was quite happy working with 2-3 turntables. Now that Ableton has entered into the picture, a new approach has emerged-- we are now dealing with the possibilities of live composition.?* J?s recent Ableton sets feature rapid-fire transitioning, layering, and sample-dropping across a diverse selection of sounds ranging from minimal, to techno, to house, to dubstep, and everything in between.* It?s an exciting presentation not to be missed! About David Siska: David Siska has been selecting electronic dance music for Chicago's airwaves, loft parties, and clubs for over a decade. In the past several years he's become known in global circles as co-host of the Chicago-based Sonic Sunset radio program, an acclaimed show dedicated to connecting eras and blurring lines between genres in electronic music. After residencies at some of Chicago's most respected venues, David has moved on to San Francisco, where he's focusing on starting his label - Remnant - to showcase texturally evocative electronic compositions from established and emerging artists. Music: techno, dubstep, minimal, house, tech house, acid, electro, disco
  6. No Cover before 11.30 w/Guest List. RSVP Now (email me rsvp@clubwoot.com) Infatuation: Jokers Of The Scene with Guest DJ Zhaldee & Resident DJ's Sleazemore and RCHRD OH? 2-for-1 Well Drinks All Night Complimentary Herradura Tasting 9-10pm | $150 Ketel One quot;It began...in Canada..." Ottawa's Jokers Of The Scene made the leap from party DJs to producers simply by working with what they knew best: the most mind-meltingly intense parts of dance music throughout history, from ecstatic big room house buildups to hyper-distorted electro basslines and the lighthearted samples of 90s techno, all thrown in a blender at 130 BPM. It was the sound of Bob and Doug McKenzie trading their fishing hole for a rave cave. Hoser house?!?!? Whatever you want to call it, Jots' cheeky approach has been lighting up dancefloors worldwide for the past two years, with remixes for underground favorites like DJ Blaqstarr and Muscles and their own Fool's Gold release, the heavily imitated, tempo-switching rap snack "Y'all Know The Name." Yet on the Jokers' follow-up Acid Bagg Ep, the duo has decided to take their sound much, much deeper. "Acidrod" is a refined (though no less ravey) take on their signature club collages, meshing crowd pleasing breakbeats with subtle tech house bleeps and hypnotic synths. "Baggy Bottom Boys" is their most ambitious track to date, a multi-part rave epic that DJs from Diplo to Erol Alkan can't help but play out through every single peak and piano breakdown. And if these two massive originals weren't enough, remixes from Brodinski, Destroy Disco and Canadian dubstep upstart DZ nicely round out the EP. If you didn't make it out to Trackademiks "Enjoy What You Do" release party @ Infatuation in Feb., you definitely missed out 'cause it was Buh-Nanas! Not to fret, our Bay-Born'n'Bred homey will be lending his hosting expertise this Wed. night! Class will definitely be back in session, so come n get some knowledge kids! As always resident DJ's Sleazemore and RCHRD OH?! will be adding to the nights festivities along with guest DJ ZALDEE! No cover before 11:30 when you RSVP.
