Although I DJ on Saturday nights I can say that a NYC promoter HAS Paid to rent the club that evening and has said to me that George Acosta will be there. My HONEST Tunnel review was that yeah it was somewhat more crowded then the week before but the difference was that people were milling into all of the various rooms which took a lot of people off of the main floor. When I went on at around 3AM, the floor was about 60% full. That went up and down like a roller coaster until around 6 which seems to be the time that they pull the plug for whatever reason. Although there were lot of people still there at around 5:30, by 6AM, they had left anyway so I guess it worked out alright. I did notice more good looking girls this week and yeah, I did notice it was mostly couples. I don't think that's a bad thing but damn, you gotta have some single girls there also. 2 cute girls ended up in the booth somehow which was kinda fun until I saw that the one was with a guy so let me rephrase my last paragrapgh to DAMN MORE SINGLE GIRLS PLEASE in the Tunnel. Lol. Yeah it kinda does kill the hookup vibe but since I am more into relationships than hookups I guess I didn't realize that mostly couples can put a damper on the night until now. Well maybe we should let all hot looking girls who want to hook up into Tunnel for free of course we would need proof that they don't leave the club alone. I recently propoosed that all girls that come to Tunnel topless get in for free and they may do that in the summertime but prob under the bikini aspect of it instead. Thanks for making last night a slamming night at Tunnel. Thanks to Corbett + the Trendroids for ripping shit up with me last night. Other then the weakness in the floor surrounding the DJ booth area skipping the records here + there the party was off the hook last night. its all about programming. When I played the whole night, the place was still busy at 7AM and they closed anyway. Sometimes when you follow someone else and they have one flow and you switch it up and go another route, it throws off the floor. The trick is bridging that gap and myself as a DJ, I have some of my favorite records that may have breaks in them or musical passages that drop out for 5 to 30 seconds and people around 4-5 are ready to leave Tunnel because the music is really hard all night and the dance they're asses off so when they hear those kinda records it's like a break point for the door. It's a catch 22. Yeah you can give up on the records you truly like as a DJ and hope to keep people hypnotized in a web of hard music but eventually people want a change of musical styles and when you make that change there are always going to be people who use that as they're break point for the door as well. People want to eventually sleep, eat, fuck, you know so especially now that Tunnel is cleaned up, you don't have as much of an E crowd there who don't realize its 9AM when they thought its like 2 or 4 sooo it's not as easy as you may think. Whats up. I will be spinning a selection of commercial\underground dance tracks with some hip-hop and reggae this and every Thursday at Groove NJ in Lyndhurst. First things first.. Me + Corbett were supposed to have a residency at Limelight back from 92 on with at that time new promoters Mike Francis and Mark Anthony and when we did recieve this residency, I unfortunatly couldn't be a part of it because I needed time to be with my new baby daughter BUT I was at Limelight almost every Saturday and loved watching Corbett blow up the dance floor on a weekly basis. During this time, a new promoter Matt B became Matt Edwards another hot DJ. Although we have never had the opportunity to blow up an entire night before as the DJ team that kicked ass all the way up the smaller clubs to Limelight I can fucking assure everyone here at Club NYC that this is going to be a set that you do not want to miss ever as its been 9 years in the making. Between Matt Edwards and the Trendroids match up, Corbett and myself this night is gonna blow the fuck up. Even if you are currently down on Tunnel for the shit that happened in the past, this is the night to give it another shot as the music is going to fucking ripping. Both myself and Corbett are ready to blow your fucking minds Saturday so come out and be a part of progressive house history. By the way, all of these current NYC DJ's that are playing progressive house nowadays? Yeah they're good BUT the man who switched NYC from Techno to Progressive House in 1992 was DJ Corbett not any other NYC DJ so why not come here the ORIGINAL NYC Progressive House DJ rip shit up one more time along with the Renegade and the Trendroids!!!
