  1. Digital 1200s on my laptop with a dual soundcard is just as good as mixing with a cd player ( - the looping functions of course) and even has some effects you can load into as in a recording studio. I will not be bringing it to Tunnel until I get the soundcard upgrade I am waiting for but I will eventually give it a test whirl if ya wanna check it out, I will let you know exactly when, most likely in 2 weeks. The only thing I'm a little nervous about is that the booth monitors being as powerful as they are might crash the system but we'll see. I DJ 80% of the night at Hott 22 off of my laptop and it works out OK but since I do not have a dual soundcard setup yet, I'm mainly throwing mixes rather than mixing them but the naked chics don't seem to care. 2. Wow lol. Ok the CD thing real quick. Scenario 1) I burn CDs all day of off my records instead of spending $12 to have the same thing (when available). Trust me, I don't have to worry about what CD's are whacked out because I always mix song to song. If anyone wants to view this, come to the booth and I'll show you and you will see what I mean (although Tunnel's CD player only works on one side so I can't do it until they either A) Get a new One or Fix the one they have. Whether I spin off a record or a cd or an MP3 on my laptop, who cares as long as my set is good and again, I do mix every song song to song (other DJ's Do this as Well so don't fool yourself) and have doubles of some that I go back and forth with. I am also a member of For The Record Record Pool which is the #1 Record Pool in the country. My past history is Limelight - Guest Spots 1992-1994(Hard Techno + Progressive House) 1994-1997 Worked at upscale strip clubs to get the $ together to build a studio 1997-1999 Main Floors of Tunnel, Expo, Carbon(Now Exit) and Many NJ clubs like Dancin', Kalifornia Bar (Groove), Quarry (Drama) (Progressive House). 2000 Guest Spots and Raves (NYC + USA) 2001 Tunnel CD - Summer Madness 1999 Remixes Do It Again (My own personal Mix) Here Comes the Rain Again - Sophia Find Another Woman - Reina (Done With Corey J) What You Mean to Me - Jackie Nova No Fear - Jamal Richardson In My House - Smooth Touch (Done with Repete) Move My Body - Brutal Bill (Done With Repete) I'm A Bitch - Johanna (Done With Repete) Original Tracks Sexy - Terra X Harder - Chocha Girl Meditate - DJ Renegade Sexbomb! - DJ Renegade feat Kerry Roberts Commisioned Projects Artec Theme Song (Done With Rick Michaels) A Theme Song for Artec Hair Products Upcoming Projects "Foxy" - XXX Star Houston "Yup Yup" - Renegade + Rick Again people, I have to know who's in the building at Tunnel and I do have management to answer to and we are doing this together so I don't think 2 weeks of experimenting is wrong. I want to build up a base of people that come every week and keep it going until 10 or 12 like other clubs and YES I do want my own style which is what I am re-forming now and it has always been hard but I have been experimenting in other directions and I want Tunnel to have its own sound so we can grow it into a hugely popular party with its own style and crowd and just like Corbett did at Limelight(who's HUGE Limelight CD will be coming out soon), the people who are at Tunnel NOW are going to be the ones that get treated right when hopefully the line is down the block again every Saturday. Feedback is always welcome and important but bashing is retarded. How many other Main Floor DJ's in NYC take the time to be a part of the scene here on Club NYC that have residencies? Also, I am developing and promoting artists as well as working with musicians and programmers to increase the overall quality of my original tracks and remixes to take Tunnel and myself to a higher level. This week alone I have interacted and set up meetings with Columbia Records and Strictly Rhythm Records as well as Definity Records to bring the industry heads BACK to Tunnel. See Ya! Renegade
  3. Also, about that post about staying open later, I would LOVE for tunnel to be open later that's what I am shooting for and since I have started afterhours, we have been staying open 2 hours later than they had been on the average and if the people stay and dance longer, then we will stay open later. Ok here's the real question we could and should vote on BOARD MEMBERS!! Would you rather see Tunnel be more of an underground hard progressive club or more of a Hard Ravey\Trance Club? OPINIONS PLEASE! (Forwarded to the clubs manager)
  4. The reason I played commercial music was to get a good argu, emt going for what i do and that is play underground hard kicking shit but without facts AND posts like yours, there is no way I would have creatively been able to do what it is that I do so thanks for the post as Tunnel wanted to experiment with some of the commercial stuff and I needed these posts to prove my point so in a weird way, all the "negative" feedback was actually "positive" feedback on my behalf. As far as the mix CD thing goes, I do have a lot of those mix CD's and i do play off of them during the night because it is easy to carry a bokk of CD's then 12 boxes of records HOWEVER, at NO POINT IN TIME do I allow a song off of one of those MIX cd's to mix into the next track on that particular mix cd. I spin every record, CD etc. from song to song so think of it from mhy point of view, would you rather sit home and burn all of your songs onto CD for 3 hours a day OR pick up a mix CD that has the same songs and sometimes even has songs that are hard to obtain and mix off of that. Again, the key point is I do not let those CD's ever mix themselves I mix EVERY record from one to the next. This Saturday you are going to hear MY set the way I spin and you can see the difference for yourself. Thanks for the feedback, Renegade PS - I closed my set out with Boriqua Anthem and the reason I did that was because a lot of emplyess at Tunnel like that song and I feel that they are entitled to have a good time as well. I played "One More Time" prior to that as a test and for the above stated reasons (not being a dick)
  5. Whats up. As you may know, I am DJ'ing the afterhours every Saturday at Tunnel now from 3AM-Close and we will be featuring different talented DJ's from 10-3 every Saturday. This Saturday Tunnel's promoters have chosen a DJ from Texas named Ragman to play the 10-3 slot. What I have heard about this DJ is that he recently won best DJ of 2001 for the State of Texas and is flying in to do Tunnel this week. Although I have never heard this DJ play personally, he has come highly recommended so I am always up to hear a DJ play who I have never heard before. I am going to be blowing up that new jackie Nova track again this Saturday so be listening for it!! Renegade
  6. See know that the bottom line comes out about the KTU Music I can give you an honest reply to your saying my set blew last week. I knew that I was taking a chance on playing "Cheesy KTU" Music from 5 to 6:15 (when we closed) and I even admit to playing cheesy KTU'ish music from 5 to 6:15. I am mostly an underground DJ and the reason I played that music is to get a feel for who is coming to the Tunnel at the moment and by what percentage so I have an idea of what I have to do to take Tunnel where I would ultimately like it to be, and that is more underground with more of a vibe. If you were there the first night I played you would have notriced I played more of my own hard style I am known for. Comments like your sre important so that myself and the prmoters can have facts behind our thoughts to help shape this night as long as they're based on what you think it is that actually blew. Now that you have stated your arguement and backed it with reasons why you thought my set blew I can appreciate your viewpoint and respect it BUT Honestly, do you really think the entire set from 3-6:15 blew? I played some good stuff from 3-5 at least for the true clubheads. Also, now that you have so well proved my pont of the crowd makeup in Tunnel, you can expect a slightly harder more underground set from me this Saturday. Renegade
  7. accepting critism is important granted from someone who means something and to me that is the entire floor and the people who make it up not one person. My 7AM comment is based on the Tunnel in the past few months not the entire club community. I make too much money to have to pimp ho's in BK.
  8. It's like this. Right now Tunnel is going to go one or the other. Either: A) Hard Technoey and Tech House or Int'l House + NYC Progressive Until that decision comes to me and we can mold a "set" crowd into Tunnel, I will do everythingin my power to make the people move and if it is a diverse crowd, they're getting a diverse blend of music. Thanks. Also I hope everyone liked the Jackie Nove remix that I world Premiered last night.
  9. Its so funny how biased people can easily say that I blew in a lame attempt to hype up their own favorite DJ's on the internet. With such a wide variety of people nowadays at Tunnel Saturdays the only way to keep it moving is with a wide variety of music so at any given point in time there are going to be some unhappy people in the club. When you find another DJ with a wide variety of music that can move the floor until 7AM, then we'll see.
  10. Get Ready tonite for the world premiere of "What You Mean to Me" (Remix) by Jackie Nova tonite @ Tunnel. This is gonna be the first track that I drop so make sure that you are there around 3AM when I go on. This track is a very hard vocal track that combines vocal elements and real hard dance music. Also, I will have two new playmates on the bar tonite during my set and I am sure you will like them!! See ya tonite! Renegade
  11. For Coming out last night and supportin. I had a really good time and I'm looking forward to next week!! By the way, how hot was that girl on the bar! Her name is Pepper. I couldn't believe the fuse blew out in the middle of my set!! That was the moment of the night I believe! Peace Renegade-tm
  12. Whassup. Tonite at the Tunnel, listen carefully for the following tracks to be played sometime during the course of the night: 1) Sexbomb (Acapella) 2) Sexbomb (Dave Marino + Tim Static Remix) 3) Sexbomb (Corbett + Troia Mix) 4) In My House (My first ever produced track that I couldn't get signed but I want you to judge as it is phat) 5) Sexy! (Terra X) A Track that I produced that never came out but I gave DJ's in NY copies. Also see if you can see how the Madonna remix that just came out sounds very similar to this track. Hmmmm. 6) Harder! The 2nd track I produced that never got signed and then a track very similar sounding called came out 2 years later (Why are you so quiet?!!) 7) "No Fear" Jamal Richardson (New Track I did) 8) Sexbomb (DJ Renegade's Original Mix) 9)"Twister Farley" (Khanoda) This track I did for a remix but when I went to get paid (Long Story) so Here it is (Kinda Razor n Guidoish from the day sounding but its 2 years old and never played yet so check it out and post feedback) 10) Do You Fuck as well as you dance (New Track I picked up tonite) Also I have been hearing a lot of complaints while promoting about Tunnel and I would like to let you know that these new promoters have their act together and have cut down on the garbage crowd that was there for a while and the crowd that is there now is great!! Even though there is less people in general now then there used to be, the crowd is a good base of clubbers to build up off of and I feel this party will grow stronger every week or I wouldn't be there tonite!! The Marino + Corbett remixes are really good of Sexbomb!!! Well, I have to get my crate ready for tonite and my list together so I will see ya tonite!! I'll have like 15 of my favorite strippers in the house also guys soooooooo..... Renegade
  13. lol the Sexy Promoter Mercury Returns. Baby is good. 6 now. Just won a cheerleading competition. Thanks. I started 2 record labels, I'm going to school for an MBA, and just recovering from a weightlifting accident (2 herniated discs, 1 pinched nerve). Other than that, lol, just ready to blow it the fuck up so I hope I see ya Sat!!
  14. haha I guess the lapdance from the lil hottie was a good one then!!
  15. Hey what's up! I am going to start at around midnight with some sick hard progressive tracks, then mix it in and build up the energy level with some hard latiny house tracks, some vocals, some dubs, some classics, and eventually go into a little hard trance. Depending on how much everyone is sweating, I will either drop it downand and start all over again or just make it more intense until I see everybody freaking the fuck out! Also, Corbett's remix of Sexbomb is off the hook. Make sure you check it out. You'll know when I play it because I mc as well as DJ so I will let everyone know when I drop it!! I started off as a hip-hop DJ in 1986 and also moved into Techno at Limelight. I then progressed to all formats of Techno including HARDCORE and played at many raves and clubs. I took a slight break to enjoy being a Dad and Corbett stepped in and basicly started NYC Progressive House music around 1993. When Corbett took a slight break to learn how to produce music, I started playing again at Tunnel, Expo, and Carbon(Exit) (it's like a tag team duo in WWF). After having a few fights with some lame promoters, I stopped playing for a while and attended college to learn how to run my record labels. After releasing "Summer Madness 1999" I further stayed away from the scene for a while to learn how to produce music. Now that I have my mind right and money right I guess you could say Im ready for war!! (Nah, to spin again!!) Check out my website for more info: www.djrenegade.com. Thanks alot buddy! Renegade
