I don't think Mr. 'guzman' gets it.
I do not listen to alot of house myself. But I REALLY like this Back to Mine CD. My boy Parish put me on to it. If you know anything about that series, it was not meant to be a traditional Danny Tenaglia non-stop set like he does in the clubs.
It is a selection of some of his favrotie songs, no matter what genre of music. If you find the Groove Armada CD from that series, they have a Tribe Called Quest remix on there.
Keep an open mind.

If you could name the three most important things that makes you pick what party you go to on a given night, what would they be (#1 being the most important)?
For me:
1) The DJ(s)
2) Girl to guy ratio (more women!)

It *WAS* Def Comedy Jam. They need to bring that back. But currently, Taxicab Confessions is kinda hot. It's not a REGULAR series, but I always catch it when it comes on.

This post goes out to all the people that are going the "el cheapo" route on December 31st this year and just kickin' it with friends at someone's house watching the ball drop on MTV and getting drunk and blasting the stereo all night and grabbing some chick and getting busy in the darkened laundry room.

Honestly, if you want house, hip-hop and a good amount of the female persuasion, check out Cream. I went on a Friday...which I heard was not the best night anyway. Saturdays looks like the better night.

I am more hip-hop oriented. If you are looking for that sort of stuff, Fat Beats is on the corner of 6th Ave & West 8th Street. Right next door and above Gray's Papaya. They also carry old school tracks, videos and breakbeat vinyl.
