  1. Anyone know a hook up for The Lounge this Thursday? If not anyone know the name of a big promoter out there. HELP! addaboy
  2. Anyone know of any good plans going on in AC for NYE this year? Thanks in advance. addaboy
  3. Where's your favorite place to stay in AC for a weekend? Also, anyone know of any good places for groups of people to stay? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. addaboy
  4. Not sure if this is an every week party for you guys, but that place is horrible trying to get into. I know 2 or 3 other cars full of people that "attempted" to get in there, and to no avail after a half hour, just drove away. That valet thing they have going on is horrible! There had to be about 20 cars at least ahead of me before they said they were closing the valet (11pm). Then if you parked on the street and got on line, they wouldn't let you in...valet only they said. $15 for a steakhouse with aggravation just to "attempt" to get in...never again. Shame, I was looking forward to hearing Teo spin. addaboy
  5. As much as I agree with most of what you said Kirk, you are wrong about one MAJOR point. I agree that if people don't like a certain venue/DJ, etc. then don't go. If you do, then it's your fault and nobody really wants to hear you complain. But to say that you don't need or shouldn't be criticized on a message board (which in reality doesn't mean a damn thing...more just a way for kids to pass time at work), is wrong man. If when we're at work and our bosses (the one's that PAY our salaries) aren't happy with what we are doing or how we do it...you're damn right we are going to hear about it. Now in your case, we PAY to see/hear you perform for us and if not satisfied, I'm a firm believer in speaking your mind. Now again, I agree if you don't like it, don't go...but if I shelled out $20 to walk into a place that you were spinning at and IMHO you sucked...then I'm sure as hell going to say that you sucked. That's the nature of the profession that YOU chose. Not looking to start drama and personally, singling a person out that's riding ya...you're only asking for more ridicule from people. Do what you do and do it well and don't pay any attention to anyone's opinion...except your boss. Take care and best of luck to you. addaboy
  6. Actually to be honest, I don't really know Teo that well at all. Don't have his number, email address, hell, I don't even know his last name. We've talked a few times in other clubs that I've seen him in, but that's about as far as that relationship goes. All I was saying that I enjoyed hearing him spin. That's it. I wasn't comparing Eddie and Teo at all. I'm sorry if that's what you got out of it, but that was not the case. I guess I'm just comparing Eddie to the guy I used to hear at Factory and other venues around the city. This Eddie of 2002, not the one of old (no matter where he's played). Well, if he's what you enjoyed, then by all means go and enjoy. Glad that you could find a scene that you liked. For me, it wasn't for me and really didn't enjoy most of what I heard...some haphazard record choices IMO. Actually was quite disappointed, b/c my friends and I were expecting a much better night from Eddie. I was just reviewing a night out that I experienced, not on a mission to rip a club/DJ to make any others look better. I still don't know why so many people do that on here? Oh and as for the dig of how many people went to see "my boy" on 7/5, really tired man. FYI - judging from other times last year that I went to XS on Saturdays...more did go to hear him then was witnessed at XS last Saturday - psst...the upstairs of the club was almost completely empty. Enough of this topic. We should just be happy that we live in an area where we do have just that...choices. Take care and enjoy you the rest of the summer. addaboy
  7. True, I wasn't there all night (couldn't take it) so I'm only commenting on the hours of 12am to 2am. Then all 15 of us left for other venues. addaboy
  8. Salgo, I'm sorry to disagree, but the past few times I heard him, he's been far from "the #1 dj in jersey right now" (which isn't saying much by the way). This also isn't an attack on him personally. I've met him on many occassions and he is a very cool guy, however I'm pointing out that IMO his DJing is leaving something to be desired and wondering if others agree. In his time he has played many a hot spot, but that is in the past and not where he is today. His own personal life should not come into consideration, I know my boss could care less about my personal life if my work was suffering. I appreciate your feedback and am curious to read and unbiased review on your next opportunity to hear him play. Thanks. addaboy
  9. Anyone else think that most shore clubs could use some major HELP in the lighting department? I was in Tempts, Merge and XS this past weekend and all are really lackluster if you ask me. Now granted, it could be the operators working them...they call can't be Steve Revlon, Mitch Amtrack or Junior's old guy Mike...but if not, really not impressive. Now I know this is NJ and not NYC, but these clubs haven't just opened this week. Might be nice to see some new money invested to help enhance the experience. Tempts lights are just quite boring. XS is dark, but OK. Merge is good with the exception of those spotlights that make it like it's sunlight or something (not good). Anyone else? addaboy
  10. Anyone sick of this song yet or just me? Oh and add that horrible "Heaven" remix to that list too. addaboy
  11. Well, I'm all for giving a DJ a chance and chalking it up to an off night, but the past few times I've heard him (Merge last year, Hunka Bunka the year before), he's been that horrible IMHO. addaboy
  12. Will someone PLEASE stick a fork in this guy....you're SO DONE!!!!!!! After seeing the HUGE line outside of Merge this past Saturday, we decided to just suck it up and go to XS for a bit. Eddie used to be a big name and remember the days of hearing him at Factory many moons ago. What a mistake! Jesus man, most of the dancefloor was just standing there as you ruined almost every song you played. Give up on playing mostly your OWN mixes...they're just about as TIRED as that stupid "Da Dick Suck" song you play EVERY time you DJ. Oh and that masacre of a mix with that old rock song (name is escaping me right now)...horrible! The crowd was sparce and much better last year on Saturdays. In other events to try and end things on a positive note...Thursday night with Johnny Vicious at Temptations- had a great time. Hadn't heard him spin in maybe 3 years or so and was pleasantly surprised. Great mixing and some interesting track selections with samples from "Elements" and a few others thrown in. Dance almost all night. Friday night at Merge with Teo...impressed as usual. Good to hear some old favorites (i.e. "Corrupt" etc.) and loved the mix of Kim English "Missing You" and Angie's IWIDMYA. Great guy and even better DJ. addaboy
  13. Who's spinning at Surf, Merge, XS on Sunday?
  14. "Something Happened On The Way To Heaven" was a cover of the Phil Collin's classic from '90. It was released on an import CD of R&B artists (which also included Brandy, Lil Kim and others) all covering Phil Collins songs. There are no plans to release the CD here. I am not sure if it will wind up on Deb's new album. Nic Mercy took the album version and made a mix from that. This is completely different from the new song that Junior Vasquez remixed, "Mr. Lonely" which is the lead single from Deb's first J Records album. addaboy
