  1. Nope, he's in his mid 30's. Circuit DJ. ------------------
  2. He usually spins at the Roxy on Saturday's. A lot of peole consider him a better producer than DJ. He doesn't seem to mix his sets up very much for a "journey", just plays song after song which although not particularly inspiring can be fun, especially if they go all out for decor on the theme. ------------------
  3. I believe there is a place called DiscMaker's on East 17th Street (between Union Square West and 5th or is it between 5th and 6th?). Try them. ------------------
  4. Came pretty close a couple years back when Junior was first playing "Relentless". Wow. That track really got me all fired up. ------------------
  5. I found this on the Global Underground board, and I thought it was very interesting. It puts things into an interesting perspective. If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following: There would be: 57 Asians 21 Europeans 14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south 8 Africans 52 would be female 48 would be male 70 would be non-white 30 would be white 70 would be non-Christian 30 would be Christian 89 would be heterosexual 11 would be homosexual 6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States. 80 would live in substandard housing 70 would be unable to read 50 would suffer from malnutrition 1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth 1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education 1 would own a computer When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent. The following is also something to ponder... If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy (how scary is this one!!!). If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada. ------------------
  6. Hey Suede, I don't think that we met, but I'll look forward to doing so in the future. I'll be hibernating as well for a couple weeks before the next Twilo experience. Hey, did anyone else meet a tall, fabulous woman from Spain, named Angeles? Hope to run into her again soon. ------------------
  7. It was an amazing morning. Hope to meet more of you in the future. Ooana you are a doll! ------------------
  8. It really is outrageous that the school children were forced to make fireworks in order to cover the school's budget. China get's away wtih so much human rights violation. ------------------
  9. I liked it ok. I just didn't think it had much character development, and the use of the boys narration was kind of weak and seemed to be used to make up for a lack of a strong screenplay, but then again it was directed to be a more atmospheric piece , and it works well on that level. ------------------
  10. DJ Barbie Doll? I'd love to see her set list! ------------------
  11. You won't be dissappointed. He is a master. ------------------
  12. Using SoundEdit Pro... has similar functions to ProTools, but not as advanced. ------------------ [This message has been edited by PurePremium (edited 01-24-2001).]
  13. Yup...seems to loop back, and use a change in volume to create an audio illusion. If you want to listen to something a little more interesting try... http://www.xdrive.com/share/980354944955UhT7B8GvCwAPkrTLN3ta a 30 second sound design I have been working on... ------------------
  14. You'll have to convert his mixes to MP3's using an encoding program. These are pretty easy to find and download for free. No special equipment needed. Unless you convert the audio into streaming audio, users will not be able to hear his mixes unless they download the MP3's. ------------------
  15. Like Petrol, I think I came this way via the gothic/new wave electronic sort of thing (Japan, New Order, Depeche Mode). Then going to art school in Detroit in the late 80's/early 90's, there was a great underground Techno scene. It's great seeing sound evolve, and listen to it recontextualize itself. ------------------
  16. Some sound editing or mixing programs have this functionality built into them. Which ones are you using? ------------------

  22. Hi. I work on a Mac. Can anyone direct me to a place that I can download software that will let me convert my AIFF or WAV files to MP3?
  23. Hey, I have been working on a dark remix of this song. If you'd like to hear it let me know. I'd really like your feedback, or anybody elses for that matter.
  24. John Digweed: Sydney is good and dark, but not as hard as the second half of Disc 2 of Paul Oakenfold: New York. Some of Sasha: Ibiza is hard and great, but not as dark as Oakenfold. Really good mixing though. Danny Tenaglia: Athens has some great dark moments, but it’s not hard, and not trance. It is really good though. Looks like you’ll have to mix and match different GU’s to get exactly what you want.
