did anyone who has read or is reading the trilogy take the time to read those poems and songs that the characters break into? they must rattle off a page of song for every three pages of novel. i tried for about the first quarter of the first book and decided to just skip over them since they gave me migraines!

i was at my desk bright and early. Today reminds me of that scene in Vanilla Sky where the streets of NYC were completely deserted (although i'm downtown right now instead of the UWS or Times Sqr) i don't care if the market's open! making all of us work today is AN EMPTY GESTURE!!!!

LOL ha you could probably pull that off, they must of thought your were crowd surfing

whoah, i may not be reading what everyone else is, but other than the fact that he produced tracks for britney (which i hear ain't on her new album) and i think n*sync, what else is BT purportedly supposed to be like ????

that sinking feeling (PBS frontline)...
montynyop replied to montynyop's topic in New York / New Jersey
no doubt- it just gives more reason for a different sub-set of arabs to hate america. its crazy that they showed footage of all these poor bastards on foot fleeing helicopters picking them off... -
that motherfucker is so tight it's SCARY from what i've heard, he's got this fascination with mathematical patterns. being a math nut myself, i find it awesome he's able to translate it into all sorts of off the hook tracks

as played out as it still is to this day, i still can't get enough of Ah-Ha's "take on me" -
sweet jesus. i just saw pbs frontline tonite. it was called 'gunning for saddam'. it basically laid out why the US is knee deep in 9-11 and a war in afghanistan. former iraqi generals that have now defected and are now hiding mentioned that there's a heavily guarded camp where they TRAIN TERRORISTS. they go through things like hijacking planes (they even do it in a boeing 707) unarmed, procedures for suicide missions, etc. they even mentioned to a great length the fact that iraq has massive stores of biological weapons. including our favorite, anthrax, and that missile fragments from the gulf war tested positive for the spores. the real kicker of it all is that this doesn't 'un'-link bin laden to everything that happened, but it 'widens the scope' of all sorts of crazy sons of bitches that have the ways and means to make atrocities like 9-11 hapen again. what a kick in the nuts- how am i supposed to enjoy the weekend now????

why the hell did u vote for BLOOMBERG??
montynyop replied to nightcrawler's topic in New York / New Jersey
not that i have an acute understanding of the issues surrounding all of this- Bloomberg has admitted to joining the Republican party just to get on the ticket for the mayoral race. Green did all these wonderful things in the past BECAUSE THAT'S HIS JOB! That's what you're supposed to do as a public advocate You've got to believe that Ferrer hates Mark Green. Endorsements are 99% party related. Bloomberg gives me the willies, but you have to rationally believe he's going to spend the city's money a hell of alot wiser than most of the career politicians. ....and Jenya Green is hot! -
i've never been too big a fan of the beastie boys but from what i heard, they played at least a song from each album (Rootdown, sure shot, intergalactic, are the only ones i know the names too, it didn't help being Fubar'd) they kinda seemed to sleep walk through their set, but mixmaster mike was awesome.

I caught the show last night. unfortunately i missed Mos Def and unfortunately i DIDN'T miss Jon Spencer The Roots as usual tore me a new asshole. Man those fuckers are good. Before the Beasties took the stage, Michael Stipe sang an old Velvet Underground song with Moby strumming a guitar. then after that Bono (coolest rock star ever!) joined them both to sing some song i couldn't quite recognize That was just soo cool

They really resched. the show at a bad time (Wed Oct 17th). I have at least 2 extra tix that i need to get rid of. Anyone interested?
