  1. I thought that it would be easier to combine both threads (dave ralph & citybartender) to make it easier for everyone to read.

    Here are a few options...

My place has a rooftop terrace/pool/party room. I checked and it's cool with the management to have a getogether. Here are the pluses and minuses:

    Negatives:

    1) It may rain

    2) No music, unless somebody brings a portable

    3) Drinks could only served in plastic cups

    4) I'm not a great chef, so I wouldn't recomend myself serving food!

    And the positives

    1) Great view

    2) Plenty of parking structures in the area

    3) 1/2 mile to HOB

    4) We can always have food delivered from many of the local restaurants. Basicly anything you want!!!

If everyone is indeed interested in this, let me know. And I'll send out all the details. Maps, directions, etc..

Or we can chose a bar/restaurant that's close to the HOB. Here are a couple...

-Redfish- New orleans style bar/restaurant (For Kim, it would bring back fond memories of Mardi Gras.)

-Rock Bottom- They have a real cool roof top party deck. (My choice)

I know that there is quite a few more, but I do know that both of these places do serve food. Anyone know of other area places?

My opinion, I do think that a local bar/restaurant would be the better idea. (Food, wide variety of drinks, music etc)

  2. Or.... If you guys are interested in local bars to meet up at. There are quite a few in the area that are around the corner from HOB.

  5. Yeah, I just got off the phone with the leasing agency and they were cool with a small get-together on the terrace.

I'm figuring about 8-10pm??? Weather permiting... If it is nice out, it should be beautiful!!!

But I'm also open to other suggestions. I don't want to monopolize the meet up or anything like that.

  7. A Dave Ralph pre-meet sounds great. Lets pool a few ideas of when and where. What are everyone's feelings of keeping it in the Gold Coast/River North area??? Anywhere is cool, just as long as it's not at Rainforest/Hardrock!

I'm going to look into reserving the rooftop pooldeck at my apartment. A few negatives would be,

    1) If it rains

    2) No music, unless somebody brings a portable

    3) Drinks could only served in plastic cups

    4) I'm not a great chef, so I wouldn't recomend myself serving food!

Let me know what you guys think... Yea or Nay

  8. Yeah, I didn't get there till about 2:30. I got tied up earlier serving a few drinks. I wish that I arrived sooner cause everyone looked like they were in full swing. Although I got a chance to save some up for Mem Day!!!

I found a few "real cheap" places to drink in the G.C. Try Jay's on State & (Delaware?) and Potter's Place right next to the 7-Eleven. These bars are both, no scene, no attitude. Know of any others?

  15. I wake up at about five, only going to bed a few hours earlier! Then, a moderate aerobic exercise on the tread or the master. And I finish off with a leisurely stroll or roll down Dearborn to the office.
