  1. Hey Johnny, You know me as David--the guy in the video the first night--I also got to meet you at Beyond Bass. Anyway, I've been there all three past Saturdays and you're doing a great job. Welcome to the Tunnel-it's my favorite club and Im so glad you're there. Oh--and don't shy away from playing hard to that crowd in there. They can take just about anything you throw at them.(Maybe some Chicago house too j/k) Great JOB. Love and own most of your tracks-- specially That's the Way Love Is--Awesome job on that one.
  2. Ok, I use a rotary mixer so I don't use the crossfader: Let's say you have the two records well synchronized and at the right tempo, the live record is going into its outro and you're about to bring in the other one in its intro at the right beat.,,,Ok Do you slowly raise the chanel gain on the incoming record or do you raise it instantly??? How long do you stay in the mix???? The outgoing record, do you cut its gain slowly or instantly??? What's the pro way of doing this or is it a matter of personal preference?? thanx
  3. the one in the back--that's the one I like
  4. MAGZ will be highly missed here. Some of the things he did just made you wonder. Great dj.
  5. lol,,i'll be looking for that track how about the Frank Sinatra track from DT's CD---that's the funniest track i've ever heard
  6. Nice to see artists posting on this board.
  7. Zombie Nation is one of those rare tracks that pops out of nowhere and catches up everybody by storm and pisses everybody else off. Masterpiece in my book. Oakie and Cox should be honored they're playin it.
  8. Here's a few points I should make: Tunnel probably already had its best moments so it's useless to keep wanting it to be the way it was. Just appreciate it for what it is. The way Tunnel is right now reflects the current gov situation--so they really can't be as loose and free as they used to be. Otherwise, risk getting shut down permanently. These days they probably just want to be around. Definitely, it could use better bouncers, etc. Old news there. As for the music, well it's always changing like the CD profile said. Now Johnny Vicious is in there which I think it's good. Give it a chance. As for transforming it to another club, I'd rather they keep it the way it is. A HOME there is not necessary--they can always find a different venue. No need to loose Tunnel in exchange for a foreign club. That's selling out. If it did happen and we went there to party--in the back of our mind we would be thinking about having known before the real thing. As for it being dirty and smelly--well it's a lot cleaner nowadays. It's also an old building so what do you expect??? Go check Webster Hall--it's not in any better shape and I don't see anybody complainning. That WH building is like 110 years old. So in my opinion, if you like Tunnel just go there and have a blast. Otherwise, just don't go. Plenty of people still love to go there like me. There's really ne need to be wasting sleep about Tunnel--just let it be. It already proved itself as a club so one day when it finally shuts down it'll be well-remembered.
  9. I was at Tunnel Saturday, Exit on Sunday...I gotta say though---in the personality deparment Tunnel beats Exit hands down. It gives you a total different feel when you compare the two. No matter who's spinning. As for Vicious--he's got his moments. Love most of his track selection.
  10. Off the hook. From now on everytime I go to a club I want it to be a dj showcase. That party was slamming. One thing though, why did they keep the light on at the end??? That really sucked--the crowd was begging them to darken the floor.
  11. I used to post as FerDavid here, then posted as Turntable, now my new name. Old Tunnel fan right here, I've always been. I met you at PVD once and saw u at Tunnel several times.
  12. that's the thing, I know you..we've met before
  13. Doug, didn't you u used to go to Tunnel like every SAT??? Duh,,, be real
  14. Think about it, you can't never judge a dj or a club by one night's performance. Lots of variables come into effect as to how one night turns out. That's why a dj can be off- the-hook one night and suck the other night. It could be his mood, or what he did that week, or the records he has, or what's in his mind--just about anything. Also every crowd is different and that also determines how a night turns out. Personally, I think this is a great party. Been there the last two Saturdays--and if Vicious was off last week, you can be sure he should be off-the-hook this week. Also think of PVD, or Oakie--anybody else, they all have their off and on nights. I know 'cause Ive been to several of their parties.
  15. Brandie, Thanks for the suggestion.
  16. Should be fun. JV rules the dance floor after two am. Spinning the latest imports. Love that dance floor and how the sound just surrounds you completely. It's gotten real loud lately as compared to last year. Steven Zor is pretty good too. He can always surprise you. Definitely, don't miss his earlier set. Love it when his name come on-- "Steven Zor", is he the only dj that does that? Oh, and stay away from the bouncers--they're dicks. just go and dance. Back to the underground, love that dark, cave-like feel that TUNNEL has. You definitely feel underground. Who else is going??? I'll definitely be there, should be fun.
  17. Whatever makes her feel special. [This message has been edited by goclick (edited 08-31-2000).]
  18. Both were played at Tunnel last Saturday.... SILENCE by Delerium Feat. Sarah Mcachlan (Airscape mix)--think i heard it during Zor's set SOMETHING ABOUT U by The Act--it was Vicious' opening track Loved them both.
  19. Definitely, great lineup. Keep it up.
  20. Can you give us a review of all the places you've played before?? Where was your first gig?? etc,,u been spinning for 5 years right??? thanx
  21. JV during the first half of his set was amazing, i thought I was listening to an off-the hook PVD--Im not kidding. He mainly plays imports. though things did slow down later on I agree about the crowd, a lot more different than last Sat. I think that when the Fall season starts, this party is just going to get better and better. In my opnion, club season is Fall/Winter----that's when people really go to clubs
  22. Im sure the drag queens are keeping you real happy!!right??? they do look like girls. one of those tunnel queens I could have sworn was a girl, great body and all, except that he/she always had a bulge in her pants
  23. ok, Exit used to have some awsome shows and trapeze acts which stopped around may same thing wiht Tunnel, last year they always had something, even if it was those crappy drag queens, they always used to put on a funny show, the last two saturdays I've been there, there hasn't been any I think that it makes for a more interesting night to have some kind of stage performance, so I definitely miss them, even if they get in the way somtimes hopefully things will come back again in the fall any other club that puts on a show every week?? how about SF??
