  1. how are you planning that trip? What are you using?
  2. I think you need to check YOUR basic groove....what are you talking about?!!!!
  3. I disagree....when you manually tap in the bpm....the song will speed up or down based on what you tap in. Same thing for when the BeatKeeper automatically does the BPM. Try it...manually tap 8 beats in real slow on a song that is in the 140's. It will slow the song down. So its doing more than just registering the BPM....its speeding up or slowing down the song. Thoughts?
  4. we'll I want to know if its just the way this model is....or if its specific to the one I have. Basically 2 things 1) It will increase/decrease the speed of the song on its own. For example...It will register at say 140 BPM...and will decrease on down to 138.5 at some point...the maybe back to 139.5. Basically it never stays put. This obviously sucks when your trying to match beats...even if you dont use the counter. Say you are matched...then all of a sudden youre not anymore because the machine altered the BPM"s up or down causing you to be off. It affects the ability to stay matched for a long period of time. Does anyone else have this? 2) The other is that it seems to "miss" a beat here and there. I dont know how to best explain it...but it almost sounds like a skip but its not really a skip. It seems to just not hit hard on one beat every so often...often enough though thats its noticable after a while. So I guess I want to know if others are having these problems. If so...is there any way around it? do I have a busted one? Please help!
  5. crazy track.... I think DJ Infinity did the remix
  6. yes...please let us know when PVD is coming back. I havent seen him since August in Boston. I'm going through withdrawal here...lol
  7. Ok this post is for those of you in New Jersey who would like to see a no cover house/trance night in either New Brunswick or the surrounding area on Friday or Saturday. It seems to be of the opinion of the bar owners in the area that on Friday and Saturday nights, the house/trance crowd will not come out to hear that kind of music. If we can use this post as a petition-type thing....where all of you that would come out will respond saying so....then we can then print out this post and show these owners that we do in fact have the crowd to make these nights happen. Let your voice be heard by responding to this post. To all the local DJ's....use this post and the responses to get these owners interested. NOW start posting!!!!
  8. I agree there should be something on the weekend (Fri/Sat) in the new brunswick area...that is cheap and caters to the house/trance crowd. The problem is that the owners of the bars in New Brunwick dont think that the house/trance will bring in a lot of people on the weekends so they stick to kareoke, 80's and hip hop. Ok this is what we will do...if there is a serious calling in this area for house/trance...then please repond to the post I am going to start in the NJ section. I am going to start a post on the New Jersey board that basically will be a petition-type thing. We will let people respond...and if enough people respond..anyone (myself, BG, or other local DJ's that want the ability to spin house/trance locally) can print out the post and bring it to the owners and show them that there is a true calling for this type of music in this area....and that if they let these local DJ's spin their house/trance...it will only benefit the bar. See my post.......thanks DJ Carusomaas
  9. yeah seriously....Queens needs to rid itself of the hip hop heads...and the only way to do that is to get the house/TRANCE crowd there (yes I said Trance). Hip hop heads will leave if people are dancing up a storm to house/trance (yeah I said Trance) in the back. Build it and they will come DJ BG has the ability to bring Queens back to what it was back in the day...the hottest place on campus. 3 years ago...lines were around the corner on a Thurs...every Thurs. Lets bring that back!
  10. I second the HIP HOP CHEEZE getting out of Queens on Thurs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hip hop over to the rail if you want that.....
  11. its not a new venue...just a new DJ in town.......come out and enjoy!
  12. Whoever has not come out yet to hear DJ BG on the 1's and 2's at Olde Queens is missing out on the heart of Rutger's underground house scene. This Thurs should be big because as rumor has it, he will be spinning alot of new stuff to get the crowd going nuts! Come check out the hottest place on Thurs nights in NJ.......

  14. Carusomaas what is going on, i dont think that they gots those vocals from there ________________________________________________ Explain what you mean. Cass and Slide's moaning is definitely from Gladiator....no question there. Are you saying that you think the Aftermath moaning is totally different from the Glad I Ate Her moaning? THis is what I trying to determine.........
  15. Heinz, Hunts...all the same...anyway I was about to post a thread about a question about this song....so figured I'd just post it heres since this was started already......(BG in the house!) so the question is.......is the moaning of the girl in this song, the exact same as taken from Cass and Slide's, Glad I Ate Her?!! Also just noting....Glad I Hate Her = Gladiator....and the moaning from that chick is taken from a part in the movie, Gladiator.

  18. Here's an article that going to make you sick......... Computer DJ uses biofeedback to pick tracks 19:00 14 November 01 Duncan Graham-Rowe A computerised DJ that uses feedback from the dancers to generate new music has been developed by artificial intelligence experts at Hewlett-Packard, meaning clubbers may soon only have themselves to blame if they do not like the music they are dancing to. Dave Cliff of HP's laboratories in Bristol says that the "HPDJ" will monitor the way dancers respond to the music and compose new tracks according to how animated the crowd becomes. In 2000, New Scientist reported on an earlier version of the HPDJ and pitted it against a human DJ in a London venue to see how it fared with a live audience. Although the software managed to fool a third of the clubbers into believing a human DJ was at the turntables, our panel of professional DJs was more sceptical. But then again, they will be the ones to lose out if it works. The earlier version takes dance tracks and works out the best sequence in which to play them. It can also mix them, seamlessly fading one song into the next while adjusting the tempo. Cliff says that the biggest gripe that DJs such as BBC Radio 1's Judge Jules had with it was that it could not gauge the crowd's response to the music. That got Cliff thinking about ways to improve it. Heart monitor His solution is to give each clubber a device like a wristwatch that monitors their behaviour, feeding info back to the HPDJ via a "Bluetooth" wireless link. "It tracks your location, measures your heart and perspiration rate, and an accelerometer monitors how active you are," Cliff explains. Every dance song comprises a number of different tracks, such as drum patterns, bass lines, keyboard hooks and vocals. To create a song, the HPDJ chooses tracks from a large library and then modifies and overlays them, based on the vibe coming from the dance floor. So how does it work? The HPDJ uses a "genetic algorithm", a type of program inspired by evolution. It uses a survival-of-the-fittest approach to create new and better tunes. In the case of the HPDJ, the different tracks are the "genes", and the inputs from the dancers are the "fitness" factors, essentially deciding whether or not particular combinations of genes survive. Hitting the floor If the track sounds so awful that people cannot get into it, they may wander off to the bar or dance less enthusiastically, says Cliff. So HPDJ will then try to improve the music, experimenting with different beats and bass lines, or speeding up the tempo in a bid to coax more people back onto the dance floor. When the crowd gets into the music, the HPDJ will sense that more people are on the dance floor and monitor how actively they are dancing. It will then gradually build up the tempo to whip the dancers into a brief frenzy, before calming things down for a chill-out period. Cliff also envisages a novel spin-off: the software could be linked to a CD recorder, so as you left a club you'd be given a CD with the music you helped to create.

  21. I have the same problem with the Memorex CD's ....as well as CompuCity brand. I dont buy these types but have been passed a copy or two of them over time. They dont play well in all my players. When you say they dont work....have you tried all different CD's players? For example...in my car...Memorex do not work well...skip sometimes when there are no scratches, or sometimes dont play at all (note: I dont have this problem with any other type of CDR). But they do work fine in other CD players I have in my apartment. Point is...could be burner, but chances are its the CD's. I know others that have this problem as well with memorex. Dont buy them again. For a good deal on CD-R's....go to Shop4Tech.com...they have 200 24X CD-R's for $60. Cant beat that....
  22. I thought Kirk Lopez was better than Boris on Saturday....I thought Boris was not into it at all. All I know is ending with Kings of Tomorrow - Finally was off the hook! What'd you guys think?
