  1. (Where did you get that quote from Albert?) Either way. The stupid people are us. Anyone (including my self) arguing about the stupidity of people, in a stupid thread is stupid. I think everyone is stupid just in different ways - but then again i recall meeting people that are just plain stupid. I think I contradicted myself in that last sentence - I must be stupit.
  2. Its funny cause I had some guy in a chat room a couple of mins ago telling me "Teach me how to hack" lol Its like some one comming up to a lawyer and asking "teach me all the laws" He tells me "what do I do at the telnet prompt once I connect?" I told him to go read and to stop bitching. off the subject --- does anyone else in hear think that taking drugs is like hacking into your brain? maybe i should of put that in the substance abuse threads
  3. The problem is that m-w.com gives a terrible definition. They should of said Unauthorized access instead of illegal - legality is a seperate supject. If I "hacked my way into" osama bin ladens server in afghanistan, what would be illegal about that? What about if I gained unauthorized access to a friends bank account. If he didnt press charges would it still be illegal? I found some more correct defs: hacker:tongue: <person, jargon> (Originally, someone who makes furniture with an axe) 1. A person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems and how to stretch their capabilities, as opposed to most users, who prefer to learn only the minimum necessary. 2. One who programs enthusiastically (even obsessively) or who enjoys programming rather than just theorizing about programming. 3. A person capable of appreciating hack value. 4. A person who is good at programming quickly. 5. An expert at a particular program, or one who frequently does work using it or on it; as in "a Unix hacker". (Definitions 1 through 5 are correlated, and people who fit them congregate.) 6. An expert or enthusiast of any kind. One might be an astronomy hacker, for example. 7. One who enjoys the intellectual challenge of creatively overcoming or circumventing limitations. 8. (Deprecated) A malicious meddler who tries to discover sensitive information by poking around. Hence "password hacker", "network hacker". The correct term is cracker. The term "hacker" also tends to connote membership in the global community defined by the net (see The Network and Internet address). It also implies that the person described is seen to subscribe to some version of the hacker ethic. It is better to be described as a hacker by others than to describe oneself that way. Hackers consider themselves something of an elite (a meritocracy based on ability), though one to which new members are gladly welcome. Thus while it is gratifying to be called a hacker, false claimants to the title are quickly labelled as "bogus" or a "wannabee". 9. (University of Maryland, rare) A programmer who does not understand proper programming techniques and principles and doesn't have a Computer Science degree. Someone who just bangs on the keyboard until something happens. For example, "This program is nothing but spaghetti code. It must have been written by a hacker". 4. 4 : a person who illegally gains access to and sometimes tampers with information in a computer system

    doin X

Well thank everyone for responding. in the end i decide not to roll this weekend when i go to exit. I decided to just let it pass and live the rest of my life not knowing what a great feeling it is. people say its better than sex. but sex dont cost 20 bucka a pop, you could have sex 3 times a day and not have to worry about seratonin levels in my head. Since im not gonna try it im also not gonna have to worry about where the pill came from. Im also not gonna have to worry about the damage to my neurons (the reason it feels the best only the first time). Some of you have some naive ideas about this drug but some of you guys were completely honest and well informed. thanks for the advice either way. for the naive people out there this: After MDMA depletes serotonin, the reuptake transporters are left vacant and exposed. When this happens, dopamine enters the transporter and gets taken up into the serotonin axon, where it isn't supposed to be. Studies have shown that dopamine itself is toxic to serotonin cells. But if that weren't enough, MAO comes along and breaks it down into hydrogen peroxide, which is also toxic to the cell. (Yes, the same hydrogen peroxide they put in hair bleach!) The hydrogen peroxide then "oxidizes" certain parts of the cell which don't normally get oxidized ("oxidize," as used here, basically means to break down with oxygen) ------------------ aim: javi404 email: javi404@yahoo.com "size 10 never find me in a tight squeeze, at the airport minutes before my flight leaves..." - Nature
