  1. a buddy of mine just told me that creamfields (ny) has been canceled. creamfields vegas was canceled a week or so ago. not that i was planning on going (gonna see danny howells instead), but still, that really really bites. :(:(
  2. the bugout girl bugs out sorry, had to be corny there. hope it goes better next time!!!! drama always suckssss
  3. yay!!! that would rock the casbah! a1 - the elevator got fixed sometime sunday evening. i was lucky in that i went out all day and the elevator was fixed by the time i came back home, so i never had to walk up 8 flights of stairs!!!
  4. we ended up being lame and not wanting to go out to buzz, which sucked b/c i really wanted to hear chris fortier. we ended up at red (after a disastrous stint at 5 first).
  5. i've heard that too, but i didn't see anyone in sneakers, or any relaxing of the dress code.
  6. heehee, i completely remember seeing that. oops!!! i made sure not to dance in that area.... ewwwwww :)
  7. eggy and i were there - anyone else? i got there around 12:30 - i guess someone named johnny fiasco was spinning? i don't know who he is. anyways, the music was pretty mellow until maybe about 2am or so, and then it got a lot harder and more progressive. i don't remember recognizing any tracks, and i don't recall when tom b took over. but all in all, it was a very good night music-wise, and it got a lot more crowded than it has been lately, which should make 5 happy. but what was with the "forest" effect they had going on? they put these trees or something in the hallway leading to the second (main) floor, and leafy branches all around the top of the dance floor. it was funny. but def. a very fun night!!!!! ps oh yeah, must tell y'all about this: afterwards, maybe 10 people or so came back to my apt to post-party. well, we ended up breaking the elevator - it got stuck in between floors - no joke. finally, 1 of the guys just pried the door open and we had to crawl out. it was insane!!! the elevator was broken all the next day!!!! oops!!!! :D
  8. hey everyone, it was eggy's birthday yesterday (sunday) - many happy birthday wishes!!!!!!
  9. too general a ? - cafe, like a place to eat? i don't know, maybe cafe asia in farragut or in rosslyn, maybe dragonfly in dupont circle, maybe something like dean & deluca in georgetown. your best bet - just go to georgetown and walk around til you find something that you're looking for

    help!

okay, i just posted this in the nyctrips2 thread, but i think it deserves its own. i have a travel dilemma: i HAVE to go to cleveland oh for a wedding over labor day weekend. i can fly there pretty cheaply on southwest, but it goes out of BWI. i don't have a car, so i'd have to find some other way to get to BWI. the MARC train doesn't run on the weekends, i can take amtrak there but not back for the times i need. the supershuttle costs $30 one way!!!! how can i get to bwi cheaply?? also, i'm trying to find a cheap 1-way tix from cleveland to NYC so i can at least go for 1 nights (sun). but all the travel sites i've checked are mad expensive b/c of the holiday weekend, etc etc. i really don't want to go to this wedding - i take that back - i DO want to go to this wedding, i just really wish it were on another weekend. :(
  11. isn't anthony pappa also spinning in ny over labor day??? i thought i heard that boohoo - i'm supposed to go to CLEVELAND OHIO for a wedding over labor day. i'm seriously thinking about going up there for the wedding (sat) and then flying straight to ny. hmmm, anyone know how i can get a cheap, 1-way ticket? i've looked around on the normal travel sites, but it's already so close, and 1-way tix are expensive...... :(:( help!!! i need to get to ny that weekend!!!!!!! and i HAVE to go to this wedding :(:(
  12. i don't know anything about feelgood, but i've been wanting to hear chris fortier for a while - i hear he's awesome live
  13. hey, tonight some buds and i are going to go hear a couple friends spin at their new residency at a place in bethesda - fairmont lounge. i think it's kinda like restaurant-by-day, lounge-by-night place. check it out - www.elysiumdc.com :)
  14. sorry - don't know of any. good luck!! :)
  15. look at the bottom of the post of whomever you want to pm - there's a grey box that says "PM". just hit it and send your messsage :grin2: i guess the popcorn guy got canned
  16. i'm ALWAYS up for ny. we should try to coordinate sometime. ravermania and i drive up a lot, but we've been going a lot less often since twilo closed. i'm thinking about going up for labor day weekend - anyone else?
  17. i've only seen them lower the disco ball once - it was at the end of the night of deep dish/danny howells - it was ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING THINGS EVER. we did a little "tribal dance" around the thing - it was amazing amazing amazing. something i'll remember forever... :) ps i read in 1 of buzz's emails that they're breaking out the kyrogenics for an upcoming party, i can't remember which one. YAY!!!!!!! twilo was the only other place that i've been to that had kyrogenics.... :):)
  18. oh yeah, hopefully elysium @ fairmont in bethesda on thursday - buddies of mine that i haven't seen spin yet.
  19. maybe buzz on fri and 5 on sat? don't really know yet.
  20. okay - check your pm's
  21. i work in the air rights building!
  22. i pretty much agree w/ superfli - it's a great enhancer that i personally much prefer than alcohol, but i think you should keep it down to once a month or so. plus, to be honest, it's almost a waste to do it around here, b/c most of the DC clubs aren't really tailored to that, ie don't have the crazy lasers, lights, kyrogenics, etc etc, that, say for example, TWILO had. :(
  23. hey, i work at a sales & marketing consulting firm in bethesda!!! really close to the bethesda metro stop. i live in dupont, though - a 10 min walk to 5!!!! :)
  24. saturday was the last twilight productions night at 5 - the last night for the alex whalen and buster duo. :(!!!! it was such a great great great night, though (although the club again had to close early, at 3am!!!) buster spun early, until 12:30, and alex closed it out. i only got to hear a couple of buster's songs, but alex layed down some great great tracks - depeche mode "crystals," bedrock "heaven scent" (POB remix), and of course finishing out w/ alanis morrisette "uninvited" (white label remix) - it was SO PERFECT that he finished w/ that song. :):) anyone else there? ps rumor is that buster will still spin at 5, doing the late set on friday nights. and i hope 5 gets its permits in order so it can stay open late again!!!
  25. i totally agree - port authority is not that shady, plus you don't even have to leave the station - you can just pick up the subway inside the station. also, i can't remember the exact rules, but if you're under 25 or something, you can buy coupon books of shuttle tickets (both us air and delta). they come in packs of 4 or 8 (each good for a 1-way trip) and come out to something like $55 or $60/each way. no reservations are needed on the shuttle either - you just hop on and go. it's great!
