Hi!! I'm from San Francisco and am out here for a week (and am somewhat unfamiliar with the area). I'm looking to do some heavy clubbing while here, hopefully from Wed. - Sat., and am trying to figure out where the best parties and DJs will be this week. Is there an online site that would have this information for the clubs in the city? For example, in San Fran, if you're ever there, sfstation.com has accurate party listings/descriptions and DJ line-ups for every club in the city. Also, will there be a meet-up for this site at all this week? I'm afraid I don't know too many people out here. Thanks!

Yeah, I've seen the slide show. Prozac doesn't prevent down-regulation, but it does prevent neurotoxicity (two different things). Vitamin C will also help due to its anti-oxidation properties.

A few of you don't seem to have your facts straight... First, let's clear up what Serotonin does for the body: Serotonin plays a role in many brain functions -- regulation of mood, heart-rate, sleep, appetite, pain and other things. What does Serotonin do for E users? It increases empathy, happiness, sociableness, enhances sensation of touch, etc. Lower than normal serotonin levels for an extended period have been shown to lead to depression. Now, 5-HTP: The precursors of serotonin are 5-HTP and decarboxylese. There's usually plenty of decarboxylase in your cells, but the amount of 5-HTP you have can vary depending on your diet. 5-HTP is synthesized in your body from the amino acid tryptophan (present in some the food we eat). But tryptophan must go through a number of metabolic changes before it is turned into 5-htp. Clinical studies of 5-HTP have shown that it successfully relieves symptoms of depression in many people. It does this by increasing the amount of 5-HTP in the brain, making it easier for the brain to produce serotonin. And no, there can be no immunity built to 5-HTP! Caution: E-user depression is also caused by the down-regulation of serotonin receptors. This is your body's effort to return itself to a balanced state after a continual bombardment by large amounts of serotonin. It can be caused by the too frequent use of Ecstacy. 5-HTP will do nothing to reverse these effects.

Why is it that people who watch the NCAA don't watch the NBA?
tonygmo replied to cazz926's topic in New York / New Jersey
I will go so far as to say the NCAA tourney is the best thing in sports. Nothing glues me to the television like it, and nothing else has so much emotion and excitement (except maybe the World Cup but that only comes around every 4 years.) -
Some sunny weather pics for the left coast

Oaky spun on Saturday at 1015 and Lawler spun last Saturday. The club was crowded as hell for Oaky. Digweed spins this Friday and Deep Dish spins on Saturday. The Friday after that: Sven Vath, and the last Friday of the month: Seb Fontaine. Its not Twilo, but not bad. -
Actually, the author also agrees with the statement. He was using the show as an example that seemingly disproved evolutionary psychology on a superficial level. But under closer observation, he showed that Temptation Island did support the theories. I took a couple Behavioral Biology/Evolutionary Psych classes in college -- fascinating stuff, huh?

What other club messageboards are out there?
tonygmo replied to back2basics-'s topic in New York / New Jersey
The www.cluboxed.co.uk messageboard is legendary. They take their music very seriously, and a significant number of members spin or produce themselves. It is also the most global of the messageboards, although most of the members are still from NY or the UK. It is the also the only messageboard where it is not uncommon to see posts from well known DJs and producers -- Max Graham, John Creamer, Revolt, Steve Gerrard, and others. Also, a number of the GU DJs have admitted to reading the site from time to time and even have been known to post. Just don't ask why PVD hasn't done a GU. hehe. All such newbies will be forever stigmatized. -

Welcome to San Fran! I live here. We may not have Twilo, but we have a damn good club scene of our own. I party every weekend so let me know if you're looking for someone to hang out with.

It doesn't sound like a game to me. He's not interested in being anything more than friends -- plain and simple. He's certainly not interested in any meaningful relationship. Otherwise, he wouldn't call you out of the blue after three week intervals if he were interested. He'd give you the attention that you deserved. I bet this guy probably gets lonely every once in a while, needs someone to talk to, and thinks of you. One other plausible explanation is that he thinks of you as the "booty call" girl. Either way, he's not thinking serious relationship.

Not club related..but have a question

French Riviera is beautiful, but so expensive. In Europe, I'd prefer the Greek Isles or the Italian Amalfi Coast.
