i'm not great, you should talk to spoonyd, but it was sorta a mix between hard house, hard acid house, and some progressive beats. like i said, very little trance going on last night.

yeah, that's what it seemed like to me. i felt very divalicious, which is what house does to me. but you're still the only one posting here who seems to feel this way; nobody else is being really specific...

  2. i've been a raver since '96; my first one being at twilo, back when they had raves there (!). i never went to a club till lastnight's PVD extravaganza. i went at opening and left at closing, just like you, uknjx2, which i've never done before, and now i know that i should always go at opening to raves, too. all the great times i've been missing, thinking that i'd get tired if i were to go too early - silly me!

  3. i second that! i had a great time with everyone, and it was fabulous to see recurring friendly folk throughout the night. man, i'd thank every single person i spoke/danced/chilled with for a lovely AND kickass evening, but that would take too long, and you and i should all know that that's not necessary.

    rock on!

  4. yeah, there was a crazy thread about a glowstick battle somewhere, but i lost it. where is the battle?

and what exactly are we talking about? is there room in twilo to do the glowstick-on-strings thing or are you just talking about sticks-in-yer-mitts? i really am eagerly anticipating a reply to both of these questions.

  5. my non-clubber friend smokey and i are planning to go to pvd (with some board people as well smile.gif) , but we're having some fashion emergencies.

i've heard conflicting reports about the dresscode; some say that twilo is not kind to ravers, while others say that pvd and s & d bring out a pretty large rave crowd and that the bouncers don't care. almost all of my gear is ravey, so i'd have to do some serious searching (or wear something not as comfortable) to dress another way.

smokey wants to know if she should dress more downish or uppish, 'cause she's either got jeans or dressy stuff, nothing "clublike" or inbetween.

so, what can you say to help a raver and her casualish/dressy-ish friend?

  6. funny, funny, crystalmethodny; i know all about it...

clubplanet jacked me over, too. check out my post: "has anyone else been having clubplanet trouble?" i couldn't get into my account yesterday and now i'm "new to the board" all over again, even though the admins reactivated my password.

    caca.

  7. well, i'll join you on the snow. this reminds me of the other night:

i was leaving a friend's house at the same time as a girl i had just met who was also hanging out that night. it was around 4 a.m. and we had just called a cab. when we stepped outside to wait for it, about eight minutes after calling the service, snow fell on our surprised faces. we had simultaneous reactions, hers being "awesome!" and mine being "motherfuckers!"

    winter's cold bites.

there's a difference between ass-grabbing and brushing up against someone in passing, and you know it. give yourself a little credit.

  9. it's not how old a person is, it's how he or she has used those years and what (s)he has learned during that time. if you think about that, the older a person is, the more time (s)he's had to figure out whatever there is to be figured out in life. this does leave these people at an advantage, but this doesn't necessarily mean that they've known how to utilize it properly.
