  2. if you read your user agreement when you signed up, you'd know that promoting is only allowed on the promotions board, not the individual city forums, unless you want to pay a fee to have your event stickied at the top of the page. People got irritated with you because you repeatedly abused that by bumping your thread in a not-so-discreet manner. Flaming the usual posters isn't exactly a great way to gain popularity either. Also, what's your gender got to do with it?

  3. Yeah, eccomi qua... I'm at home fighting a severe bout of depression [read: I miss my boyfriend and can't afford plane tickets to italy] compounded by some serious CMS (current menstrual syndrome)...

well I dunno bbboooom, I think you got vitcimized by the *P*MS part of all that just recently lol

What exactly is it about pantyhose that you find uncomfy (I know, kind of a dumb question, what's not uncomfortable about them)? How about wearing thigh-his instead, would those be more comfortable?

Yeah I was thinking about trying thigh-highs. what i hate about pantyhose is 1) that they are itchy 2) i hate the way that control tops cause "rolls" where there weren't any before - know what I mean? Like, it's not fat, it's just that they try to suck everything in and pinch skin, and 3) the non control top types tend to slide down as you walk, and there is nothingggggg i hate more in this world than feeling like i'm walking aorund with something stretchy rubber banding my thighs together. AUUUGGGHHHH who ever came UP with these things anyway?!

but i find the fishnets stay up by themselves and they're made of soft cotton so they don't irritate me half so much.

If I get thigh-highs, do they require a garter belt?

and food for thought.... why is it, anyway, that fishnets are okay at work in Italy, and not here?

btw sigma - i work at the italian cultural institute, I do web updates, event planning/hosting, etc. as of the moment, it's like a small office suite but we all wear suits or at least the guys wear ties and take off their jackets when they get to work.

  6. Hi people -

I have an opinion question for you all.

I find regular pantyhose to be uber uncomfortable, especially if i have to sit in an office in them all day (like, hmm, now...)

When I was living in Italy, many of the girls that were going to work in suits and nice dresses had on fishnet stockings, even in prints and stuff, and it was perfectly okay. I brought back a whole bunch of fishnets with me when i moved home, but I'm not so sure that i can wear them to work here. I work in an office full of Italians, I think I'm the only American in here. So I was thinking maybe it would be okay to pair that with a business suit or a nice dress - either in a skin color, white or black.

So, style experts, what's the verdict? Should I wear the fishnets to work?

Sorry to be the messenger of the irony, but you *did* title the thread "WHY the ... here?" ...meaning that you posed it as a question, and, being as how you failed to specify a party to whom you were addressing the question, you tacitly solicited Nils's response... :aright:

No, we do understand that, but we still think it's a bit excessive when hip hop has 97.1, 107.5 or something, and 105.1 exclusively, plus the majority of play time on Z100, KC101 ecc. so now that what is supposed to be the dance station is playing it too, we're irritated.

I will flat out admit I'm a jaded house head. I think it blows that the clubs hat were once ruled by house and now empty shells that dole out boring, played out on the radio already rap tracks that all sound the same and mention nothing besides how cool my car is, how tight my ho's ass is squeezed into her jeans, and how much cristalle i bought in an unimpressive VIP room. Don't get me wrong, I like hip hop, but I like what it used to be - biggie, tupac, run DMC, skee-lo (lol!)...

and i'm not hating. one of my good friends is a great hip hop DJ, and i respect what he, and the other hip hop djs do, but i think the market is desperately saturated and completely parched of originality.

I think if you go back and read what I wrote I explicity stated that I am no longer connected to anything in new york. I stopped working there well before I moved to italy. If you meant to be helpful, fine that's cool, but you make it sound so condescending, and that is totally unnecessary. If you had really wanted to help you would have provided some names of clubs and whatnot where he could have looked into. That is, of course, unless you have no clue which places even play house

BTW, why the hell do you always reply to incoming DJ's like this haughty little shit when you are niether a DJ nor connected, and try to discourage other artists who probably have talent and style to share with the city? Why don't you STFU and let something new make its way over here? Anyone who DJs for real understands that it takes tons of time, effort and patience to get booked and none of us care to hear your snivelling crap about our bookings. :blown:

  11. Hey kids :) I've gotten out of the promotions business (thanks be to the heavens) so I can't really personally hook anything up for you, but I can give you a few leads as to where you might look for stuff. Who knows, maybe some day you'll want to help a poor pathetic chica get a gig on your side of the ocean some day ;) I'll drop a PM over to one of you guys with the info

Not for me, thanks. Even the CDJ1000's don't do it for me. There is something about vinyl that wheels and buttons will never be. Granted, the loop features and all are great, but you couldn't convince me to dump my vinyl for the world.

The final scratch, on the other hand, I really really want to hate that - I really want to tell technology to F off cause it will never compare to real records - but I can't, because the final scratch IS real records! And I'm afraid I really like it! I might buy it :woah: When I actually have money, that is, cause right now, i'm broke... reallllly broke.
