  1. OK, my friends totally dropped me on Thursday and I didn't even get to go to the opening of my own party! ARGH!!! So basically I have no info for you about the party was, etc. I'll go this week and get back to you about it. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions -- I'll work on bringing people in as soon as my company settles down and we can get things accomplished again (for some reason, everything is chaos over there). ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  2. I saw him last night(Friday) and he was excellent. He was spinning some really awesome stuff that I rarely ever hear, and his mixing was *smooth* Just great! ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  3. To tell you the truth, I can't guarantee what our DJ's will be spinning. Darryl T will have the main room, and he has the capability to spin some excellent stuff, but depending on what he's told to do, he'll be spinning accordingly. I think for the first week they're going to mainstream it a little anyway. Tell me more about what the original Thursday night was like, and I will pass your suggestions along to my company. It may be the case that you'll be better off next week when I can have time to get my suggestions through. Things have been way too wacky lately for me to get anything worthwhile accomplished. If you want to find me, I could give you a description or I'll just post my ridiculous picture here (the only one I have scanned is kind of laughable, but if you want it, I'll post here, just promise not to laugh!). Suggestions, Suggesions all of you!!! Give me your thoughts for Thursday nights! (That includes guest DJ's) ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  4. Hey everyone! Just thought I'd let you all know that we're starting a new party on Thursdays at 5. Our grand opening is this Thursday, January 25th. Doors are opening at 9:30. Sooo... if you're looking for a way to amuse yourself on Thursday, do come check it out, and come introduce yourself if you can find me! (Ask around for Aly) ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  5. We're actually considering the possibility of a routine using glow sticks. You people will have to teach us some tricks! ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  6. Yeah, definitely done this. I was seeing one of my promotions managers at the time. He grabbed me by the wrist and led me out of VIP, I thought we were leaving or going to do some business or something, but he took me to the owner's suite and, well now that I think of it, we got plenty of business taken care of right there on one of the sofas. hehehehe that was a great night ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  7. I suppose you're right on that much Thanks! As for what we do, we're really supposed to be a dance team for halftime shows at the basketball games, but we different routines for different occasions. (note: we aren't cheerleaders, nothing like them in fact). The routine we danced at Platinum had a lot of floor work, which has a certain suggestive effect to it. Unfortunately, our DJ at Platinum didn't have a mic and couldn't announce us, so a lot of people caught on a little too late to catch that part of the performance. If you want to check us out, I'll give you the dates of some performances coming up, we'd love to have you there! ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  8. We would absolutely *love* to, but we don't want to perform to an audience that doesn't want to see us, if ya know what I mean. Our last performance was at a special event, it was kind of fitting. We'd love to be out there again though! ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  9. Also, in addition to the dance question above, do any of you have any DJ's or live acts that you'd particularly like to see down in DC? Let me know! Thanks! ~Vixen ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  10. Hey everyone! General Survey Question: What do you think of the idea of live dance acts at clubs 1) for special events? and 2) on any given night? Basically what I am talking about here is a feature performance by a college dance team (sort of like the Laker Girls or Knicks dancers) which is about 3 minutes long. We did this before at a major holiday party at one of the DC clubs, and we seemed to get a very favorable reaction. But I'd like to know from all of you what your opinion is on live dancers at the clubs. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help! ~VF ------------------ "When you're feelin' good in somebody's spot, gettin' hot, don't stop, just don't think I'm not!" ~Candy
  11. I go to Georgetown, and I'm on the kickline/danceteam there. We danced at Platinum one night for a special show. That was wild -- a little sketchy but really fun. Part of our routine we were doing a bunch of moves that required laying on the floor...which by that time had already been splattered with drinks. We all finished the dance covered in alcohol! *oh well*
  12. Are you kidding? I love the guidos! They're hilarious! Without them, there would be no one to laugh at They give NY some character
  13. Well, I just found the board yesterday, but if that doesn't matter, I'm always up to meet new people. I will be back in DC on the 14th, keep me posted
  14. I haven't been there myself, but a promoter for Space was talking with my friend and I and even he didn't seem to enthused about it. He made some comment like "yeah, they're opening Space. Ya know why it's called Space? Because there's going to be a lot of empty space." I was thinking about checking it out though. Maybe when I get back to DC. But Shawn Ink was already there once I think - Dec. 12th I believe it was. I didn't hear anything about how it was, though.
  15. I'm not so sure I have a favorite club in DC just yet, although I promote a few of them. I performed at Platinum once and I think that club is beautiful, though I haven't been impressed with their parties, really. In NY I have a few favorites: Exit, Limelight and Sound Factory. Your favorites?
  16. Hey everyone! I've been back up in NY for winter break and I've been missing my DC clubs a little (not like I'm unsatified with NY!). Have I missed anything good? Fill me in if I did! ~Vixenfoxxy
