NOOOOOOO!! Me and my friends went there over 4th of July ... there is no scene at all. The disco thing they have at the hotel has about 5 people in it and the local establishments are nothing but fronts for whore houses. There are no legitimate bars there. And when we were walking around ... I didn't see one tourist female walking around outside the hotel. As far as Santo Domingo's scene ... none there either. The only thing to do there is go to the beach which admittedly is pretty nice ... but it gets old after about 4 days.

i agree ... overall great vibe and a good time both times i was there!

i've only been there twice ... but a lot of people just chilling and watching (the dancers probably!) around the outside of the floor ... and then some people definitly getting down as well. Definitly not many shirtless guidos or high fashion in effect, but the crowd is pretty good looking and respectful. See you there ... NY will most certainly be representing
