  1. Barcode is the name of the Friday night at Circuit.
  2. Circuit Nightclub is sorta a "hole in the wall" club. It's not very big and has low ceilings. Saturday nights are gay, Wednesday and Thursdays are Latin. Fridays are sorta mixed...but this night has still hasn't developed a regular following. The type and size of the crowd greatly depends on what DJ/entertainment is booked for the night. The owners plan on expanding and installing the sound and light system from the old Twilo...but this won't happend for a couple more years (money problems). Good clubs to check out in Chicago are Crobar and Transit.
  3. It's offical. Twilo's Phazon sound system (considered the best sound system in the world) is now safe in Chicago. Semi-trucks from NYC were seen infront of the space adjoing Circuit. Being unloaded... the infamous sound system. It will take several months to construct the new space and install the sound system. When finished Circuit will have the best sound system and the largest dance floor in Chicago. Hopefully they will be bringing in world class DJs. Fridays will be straight, Saturdays will be gay...just like Twilo was. Don't belive me....go to www.phazonsound.com and look at the coming soon list.
  4. Circuit Nightclub has started a new "straight/mixed" night on Fridays called Barcode. The crowd on Fridays has become mostly straight now. The club may not be that great yet...but just wait. A million dollar renovation and addition complete with Twilo's "old" Phazon Sound System will change that soon. It will be installed in the new addition that is suppost to open in November. In the mean while check out these events on Friday nights at Barcode. No attitude, No dress code, and cheap drinks/cover...and soon PHAZON sound! Friday, August 24 - Blueplate Records Showcase featuring Suzanne Palmer and Dana Stovall and DJ Mark Picchiotti Circuit and Freddy Bain presents BARCODE! The new industry night every Friday night. Blueplate Records hosts a CD/record release party featuring live performances by Blueplate's artists Dava Stovall singing "Running" for the group Basstoy and Suzanne Palmer singing "Fallen Angel" for the group The Absolute. These two Chicago Divas are guaranteed to raise the roof with their powerful performances. Blueplate Records founder Mark Picchiotti will take you on a musical journey behind the turntables as your superstar DJ/Producer/Remixer for the evening. In addition, BluePlate is proud to launch its sister label Blue2 with the release of Kylie Minogue's first US single "Butterfly". BluePlate will be giving away limited copies of their debut mix compilation "Into the Blue". A stunning presentation of their artists, including BassToy, The Absolute, Sandstorm and Kylie Minogue among others, all seamlessly mixed by Mark Picchiotti. Doors open at 9pm. Admission $10. $5 with invite until midnight. Complimentary until midnight with Circuit card, $5 after.
  5. Boy George at Circuit??? How did they pull that? Circuit has one of the citys worst sounds systems, an uneven concrete dance floor, and overall it's a dump. It seems like they are trying to draw a "straighter" clientele cause the gay boys hate the place.
  6. Help roll back the 'Anti-Rave' legislation passed in Chicago last year. Help protect our DJ's and promoters from prosecution by signing the petition. Just follow this link. http://ravehousetech.about.com/musicperform/ravehousetech/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.petitiononline.com%2Ffbsm%2Fpetition.html
  7. Director Winston L. Mardis - Local Liqour Control Commision 66 W. Washington St. Room CL-95 Chicago, Illinois 60602 Fax: (312) 744-9162 Mayor Daley's email: MayorDaley@CityofChicago.org If any one has ideas of different avenues, please let me know!
  8. The politicians in Chicago are working hard to stomp out late night dance clubs in our city. There latest attacks has been at Crobar, which they have been trying to shut down since last summer. The fight is not over yet and Crobar's future is still in jeopardy. They have made the opening of new dance clubs virtually impossible and have stopped issuing late night liscences. The few new nightclubs that have opened recently (ie transit, nocturnal) can only stay open until 2AM and 3AM Sat. And we all cannot forget how they closed Karma last year, is Crobar next? The city is currently working on more ordinaces that will only hurt Chicago's club life. We can no longer sit back and watch Chicago's nightlife be eliminated by our city's commisioners. Many other citys in similar situations have fought back! We are the 3rd largest city in the country, and an active late nightlife is important for the residents and tourists, alike. I think it is time we come together and let our politicians know that we feel that their actions towards club owners are UNFAIR and we do not approve of their attempt to destroy what's left of Chicago late nightclub industry. If you care about Chicago nightlife it is time to take action! Write letters to the mayor and the liquor commisioner. Let's work together to start a petition, etc. We cannot afford to lose any more clubs!
