-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Certain nights stand out as being special. It doesnt have to have large crowds, or elaborate lighting or dancers galore, but rather a sense of spirit. Tonite was that nite. I have not felt this good since Miguel Migs at the Delano. There is something about Soulful house that just gets me moving. It stirs my emotions, it takes me on a "natural high." Plato said it best: Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. That is exactly how i feel about music when i attend a lust4house event. I arrived at Blue around 11 pm. Being the optimist that I am, I said to myself " Hey ill find a meter"..... Well after about 30 min I gave up and parked on the 17th street lot. Walked into blue and sat down Vaughn and Sheldon were already there just chilling on the couch. Great to see u guys again. Vaughn thank you for being such a great host for the evening and hookin me up with drinks throughout the nite. Much appreciated. I dont want to really go into a huge shoutout list as the music is what should be focused on. There was a small group of board members in attendance though: Macboy, Absolutv, James and Annette, JC (Housedivision), Buster(who ran in and out twice.... LOL ) and of course Vaughn and Sheldon. Also great to see Juan Mejia in the house... The opening guest djs were friends of Vaughn and they started off the nite incredibly. How I wish I could ID deep house but I cannot. Though I did sneak a peek at my fav track the guest djs dropped. It was called "Bobbalou" a track that even Sheldon himself has not even procured yet. Around this time one of the bartenders got on the bar and started to dance. She was wearing a school girl outfit. Very nice. After the guests Sheldon took the decks. The second he took over I recall why I have enjoyed Nerve so much this past year. 3 words:LUST4HOUSE... Sheldon owned me. From gospel house to just awesome latin house with tons of drums, I could not stop dancing. By the end of his set I was sweating quite profusely. Then after Sheldon, Vaughn took the decks. I have been personally waiting to hear Vaughn spin for forever and a day, and he did not disappoint. His style is a bit harder then Sheldon but it was awesome. At one point he drooped this latin track that had me jumpin in front of the booth like a nut. I know he dropped a Miguel Migs track in there because he told me"Hey Bling.. its ur boy" LOL..... In his set I noticed he did drop a Subliminal Vinyl though could not read the track name. When I had initially arrived I was going to go to Crobar because Blue was not really full around 1130 so I went over. But it was a special event so my crobar card would not work. I dont understand how Ralph Falcon is considered a special event since hes a resident .. maybe because it was his cd release I dont know. Either way, I am so glad i stayed at Blue all nite long. The place had such a great vibe, everyone was dancing Throught the nite Vaughn was informing me of upcoming Lust4house events. Lets just say for Vaughn's bday next month my butt is driving to Boca for his guest dj I just hope that its not the same day as Tiesto @ Space. I also cannot wait for the lust4house anniversay upcoming. I am counting the days till Labor Day now !!! Funniest moment of nite was when I was speaking to Dan about Alan Steinbeck and his awesome set on the lust4house site. I was like ahh i never met him. Then Dan was like "bro u know him... Alan and his wife Gina" LOL i feel like a moron. I never knew Alan's last name LOL .... sick set Alan if your reading this review I have been fully converted to a deep house fan and I am loving every moment. Lust4house this year has completely blown me away and it only will get bigger and better.
I would like to thank all of my friends who have helped me pass my workday by with lighting speed and give me something to do other than look at porn after a drunken night out!
