WEST WARWICK, Rhode Island (AP) -- A teenager was killed by a hit-and-run driver at the same spot where his 14-year-old friend had died in a car crash just hours earlier. Andrew Coit, 18, was hit by a car after 4 a.m. Saturday as he played a guitar at a makeshift memorial to Darien Plass, 14, on West Warwick's Main Street. Plass died after driving his mother's minivan into a utility pole late Friday, friends of both teenagers told the Providence Journal. "He wanted to play one last song for (Plass), and that was the last time anyone saw him. He loved singing. He died doing what he loved doing," said Coit's friend, Dennis Sullivan. Plass' friends said he had been drinking and took his mother's minivan without her knowledge. Coit and other friends set up the memorial. Sullivan told the newspaper the mourners remained at the memorial until about 4 a.m., but Coit stayed behind to play one more song for Plass by himself. Minutes later, police received a call of a man down, and an ambulance crew found Coit on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. "He died pretty much instantly. He did not suffer," Alan Coit said of his son. Police were searching for the hit-and-run driver who hit Coit, said Detective Sgt. Aqua Teen Hunger Force shuts down Boston BOSTON - At least nine electronic devices planted at bridges and other spots in Boston threw a scare into the city Wednesday in what a cable network said was a marketing campaign for a late-night cartoon. Highways, bridges and a section of the Charles River were shut down and bomb squads were sent in before authorities declared the devices were harmless. "It's a hoax — and it's not funny," said Gov. Deval Patrick. Turner Broadcasting, parent company of Cartoon Network, said the devices, which consisted of magnetic, blinking lights, were part of a promotion for the TV show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." "The packages in question are magnetic lights that pose no danger," Turner said in a statement. It said the devices have been in place for two to three weeks in 10 cities: Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Austin, Texas, San Francisco and Philadelphia. "We regret that they were mistakenly thought to pose any danger," the company said. Police said only that they were investigating where the device came from. The Department of Homeland Security said there are no credible reports of other devices being found elsewhere in the country. The exact nature of the objects was not disclosed. But authorities said some looked like circuit boards or had wires hanging from them. The first device was found at a subway and bus station underneath Interstate 93, forcing the shutdown of the station and the highway. Later, police said four calls, all around 1 p.m., reported devices at the Boston University Bridge and the Longfellow Bridge, both of which span the Charles River, at a Boston street corner and at the Tufts-New England Medical Center. The package near the Boston University bridge was found attached to a structure beneath the span, authorities said. Subway service across the Longfellow Bridge between Boston and Cambridge was briefly suspended, and Storrow Drive was closed as well. At least some of the devices resemble one of the villains on "Aqua Teen," part of Cartoon Network's late-night Adult Swim lineup. The show follows the misadventures of a carton of french fries, a milkshake and a wad of hamburger meat who live together in a run-down suburban house. A feature-length film version of the show is scheduled to come out in March. Messages seeking comment were left with several publicists for the Atlanta-based Cartoon Network.

I know i really don't post in the boston board...but i hope trentmoeller comes up to new england some time this year...I didn't expect much from their set but they blew me away. Twisted samples and grimy basslines infected my musical taste buds. I was totally sober tonite and the music was its own drug. Trentmoeller was using a synthesizer device and other gadgets to distort the sound in all kinds of loviliness. Hopefully a promoter up there can get them to play Rise. Also, I've never heard the sound at cielo cranked so high, yet sound so clear too (the floor were shaking last nite!). These last two weeks have brought some of the nastiest sets this year, last weeks from King Unique and this week by trentmoeller!

i'm super excited too andy...been wanting to see king unique for a long time too.....can't find many djs in nyc with a sound like theirs...thank you again for bringing them here!!!! till friday...the countdown begins
