For the record, I had long hair during the grunge era too, but now its short and under control. Curious, what do you think about those new other long hairstyles that are coming around for guys. Come on, you've seen them, like: The Morrison That 70s Haircut Personally, I think they're a little too girly for me, but who knows... 2. Not oral sex, roman shower... Yuck... Never would do that to a woman or be with a woman who'd like it... You've got a thing with the sh**ter, don't you?
  3. Irish and blonde. That's pretty unique... Most irish lasses i've known have been brunettes or redheads... About the blonde vs brunette thing - I'm Italian, and ask any Italian guy about what's-his-name's fiance on the Sopranos who is blonde, and see what your reaction you'll get... Damn it starcapone... With all yer posting, i'm going to have to change my username.... [This message has been edited by starchild- (edited 05-07-2001).]
  4. That's strange. Call them up. I grew up ten minutes away from the place, and I can't think of an event they had that didn't have lawn seats. It might just not be for sale online. It's worth a try...
  5. Owwwwww! No way, not my thing...
  6. I was wondering what you guys think of the legacy of house music in this city. Everyone points to the 'Chicago House' of the mid to late-80s, as some of the beginnings of it all. Chicago House is good, but it never really blew my mind, and I think its sort of strange what it has evolved into. 1. Deep House and an unconditional respect for local house music, no matter how good or bad it is. 2. This odd Bad Boy Bill-type local DJ following. Psychobitch and others like Naw-T-Boy follow this mold, which always came off to me as a cracked out version of early 90s rave. Recently people have been calling it hard house, but I don't buy that label, since it isn't consistently fast or full of hoovers... To me, that's the majority of the local scene, and some of it seems out of touch with the rest of the world. I see no presence of progressive, breaks, trance, tech-house, or anything groundbreaking here. Maybe I’m missing something... Don't flame me, I don't want to cause any drama. I just want to understand the scene in perspective of the rest of the world.... Tell me, what do you think? How did this happen? Where is it going? b2b, and anyone else who's knowledgeable, I’m curious... [This message has been edited by starchild- (edited 05-01-2001).]
  7. One of my favorite songs of all time! Yeah! I still loved the track, even when I had no idea what it was really about... LOL...
  8. She sounds like the manipulative type. Telling him to get a vascetomy instead of them using condoms or her on the pill, then cheating on him?? Who knows what else she did... Gotta watch out for those women...
  9. I saw the layout, and it looks like implants, given her body structure. She's a beautiful woman, but did she look too manly or what? I like women with an athletic build, but that's overkill, way too much meat for me... BTW, natural is always best in my book. I don't think makeup should be ignored (hated that 'natural' look in the 90s), but 99% of women shouldn't alter their body. I'll agree with the goatqueen - small, perky breasts are great too!
  10. Err... Art Rock/Indie/Emo... True, indeed... But, I never could get into those genres that much. For me, Music has to be emotional, and they're all too cerebral, like post-contemporary art. Remember, I live in the Indie/Emo capital of the world, Chicago. Its all a game of who's wittier with their music than each other... and I find that more boring than watching paint dry.... I'm talking Pavement, Guided by Voices etc.. Sonic youth can be an exception at times.. betting on the bull in the heather...
  11. In all of history (im talking hundreds or thousands of years), I think rock is going to be a short-lived phase. Why? 4 minutes of: verse, chorus, verse verse, chorus, verse refrain verse, chorus, verse is too limiting Electronic, especially musicians that perform their music live [bT, Hybrid, Hawtin], are going back to the roots of it all, similar to Jazz or Classical. You can be far more creative and make far better music without the constraints of rock music, simple as that. [This message has been edited by starchild- (edited 04-30-2001).]
  12. I went through a short phase of it during the beginning of HS, around 90-91, but it was too gloomy and out of sync with the rest of the entire world for me to really get into. I was into NIN (Yes, back then), Cure, Ministry, Revolting Cocks, etc. There is still a huge goth scene in Chicago right now. Strange place. Relating to today, I love hints of goth mixed in a good house set. Nice and haunting, like: Delerium - Innocente (Deep Dish Mix) Trancesetters - Synergy (Glacier Mix) VNV Nation - Kathy's song (Ferry Corsten Mix)
  13. F**k these ads! This isn't a billboard...
  14. Dima, props to you! I was referring to myself losing that much weight, and had no idea about you. I could tell that you had, but few people pull off that much. I respect anyone who's done it - it takes a lot. Let's end the drama here. I'll PM you later...
