  1. dj icey spins breaks.... ever been to move at axis upstairs on saturday? the breaks that traylor spins are similiar to dj icey's style. hard and funky, but not too cheesy. HTH
  2. so the power went out early friday morning (4AMish) and by the time late evening rolled around, NO ONE was expecting the clubs to be open. things were looking grim in lansdowne land, but thankfully the good blokes over at the electric company were working extra hard, and they got the juice flowing by 10:45. us karmachameleons waiting outside breathed a collective sigh of relief as we heard the good news and waited for blake the sound guy & the karma staff to do thier best last minute work. they got the club open by 11 and tym ryan took the decks to spin 3 hours of progressive, techy, housey, (and even some breakbeat!) maddness. expect more of the same madness in the front room this week (well, hopefully no power outages!) as well as tim collins' bootylicious mishmash of disco, 80s, hip hop, and whatever else the crowd wants to hear in the mambo lounge. getchyafreekon, every friday, at, the new and improved spin cycle at karma club, 9 lansdowne st, boston 617.421.9595 spincycle411@hotmail.com 19+ - 10 measly bucks, 21+ - 8 measly bucks, or, phatmike@isomorphic.net for list! --- no dress code no attitudes ---
  3. i definately second the reccomendation to check out the party in fitchburg if you can make it out there. in addition to those names is one of the folks who innovated detriot techno -- kevin saunderson. hearing him alone spin is worth the price of admission, imo, nevermind the other great names! unfortunately, i wont be able to make it (beach party in newport! woo!), but it should be an extra special time as it is the last party at the venue for a while. as for friday, i suggest you check out spin cycle at karma. i can put you on a list, if you like. i'm about to make my weekly post about it, actually, so look for the info in that thread
  4. it was a monsoon last week at spin cycle, and as luck would have it, the decor inside matched the torrential downpours outside! my rainsoaked ass felt right at home once i got inside and danced my ass off underneath the hanging vines and rainforest-like flora. the decor is only a miniscule part of spin cycle, though. spin cycle is about good tunes, good times, and good karma. the tunes? tym ryan spinning the best progressive tracks. good times? get yo ass on the dancefloor, chill in the back, or hell, do either on the stage. good karma? well, that goes without saying. getchyafreekon, every friday, at, the new and improved spin cycle at karma club, 9 lansdowne st, boston 617.421.9595 spincycle411@hotmail.com 19+ - 10 measly bucks, 21+ - 8 measly bucks, or email phatmike@isomorphic.net for list! --- no dress code no attitudes ---
  5. so the first spin cycle at karma was a huge success. both the crowd and the vibe was unbelieveable, and the music was great -- as always. we had the spin cycle dancers, projection screens, a much improved sound system, and tym ryan up on the stage. i was really impressed with the setup! anyway, i had a rawkin time and i hope everyone else did too. come on out, party in the front room to tym ryan's choice progressive tracks, or swank it up in the mambo lounge with tim collins' selection of 80s and hip hop. later! (yo, why dont they have a simley with a mohawk??? heheheh) getchyafreekon, every friday, at, the new and improved spin cycle at karma club, 9 lansdowne st, boston 617.421.9595 spincycle411@hotmail.com 19+ - 10 measly bucks, 21+ - 8 measly bucks, or email phatmike@usa.net for list! --- no dress code no attitudes ---
