  1. he's sick bro. hes gonna tear the roof off abyss. its gonna be damn loud in there. ive seen him a bunch of times, ibiza twice, roxy, and spirit twice. i hope the nj crowd can handle him lol. and them im goin to see him at cielo on sunday too. i really wanna see how he'll play in a smaller venue like that.

anyway, ur gonna really enjoy it. ive never seen anyone who didnt like him

I'll second that - he's the best house dj in the world IMO. I don't think the nj crowd will have any problem, they liked roger sanchez and he's not typical jersey music. It probably won't be the standard jersey crowd either, at least it wasn't for sanchez...

I'm there... 10 more hours and its on!! :bounce:

  2. Don't know if anyone else noticed, but Sirius will be changing their channel lineup on Sept 29. The dance/electronic channels are moving to the 30s, check out the new lineup here:

    http://cdn.sirius.com/pdf/SIRIUS_092905_channelguide.pdf

You'll notice that 5 out of the 6 channels made it, but channel 62 (Remix) did not... WTF?!?! Its the only channel that has mixes, and is arguably the best dance channel... :banghead:

If you're pissed off about this, you can complain using the form on their website:

    http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/CachedPage&c=FlexContent&cid=1112908249913

obviously, the more people that complain the better chance of them bringing remix back

  3. it is illegal, but...

I got a ticket for that in nyc (I was drinking a 40 with a brown paper bag around it, talk about ghetto lol). Went to court, and there were about 15 cases just like mine, and the judge dismissed them all because the cops didn't have probable cause to look inside the bag (or inside your coffee cup) in the first place. Now, if you were acting strange or suspicious, that would give them probable cause. So technically, you should be able to get out of it. But a coffee cup with a straw was a little suspicious, and as everyone else said the shore pigs pretty much do whatever the fuck they feel like.

  4. I think its the same track I'm looking for... def sounds like an old school tunnel vicious track with the synth, no vocals... Tsettos and even Morillo dropped it this weekend... been hearing it all over the place...

the main part of it is one long synth followed by 3 short synths

  5. Let me just say DT and Drugs at Arc/Vinyl is simple subject. Danny did not want his party shut down. Look at Twilo, The Tunnel, Limelight, SF and even Arc/Vinyl at a time. DT, Silverbull, myself and many others LOVE that party and did not want to see it closed down. You (no one particular) don't walk around the city smoking week out in the open because you don't want to get arrested or drink deer at your job because you don't want to get fired, or do a bump in front of your mom because you have respect for her. And if you do then you are care full and discreet and that is what was asked of you at Arc/Vinyl. Clubs don't sell liquor after 4am because it is illegal and they don't want to be busted so why would anyone do drugs out in the open like if it was legal? I don't know about anyone else but I love the music and I love the scene and the city is looking for any reason to stop the night life all together or make it end at 1am. So if you feel the way I feel about the scene I ask you to just have some respect for it :nopity:

    Peace

    Manny Freytes

    :)

PS If you would like to read about how Limelight fell apart get this book by Frank Owen called Clubland

Or, you could've just been around when Limellight closed.

I have no problem with DT wanting to save vinyl - I would've done the same thing. What I do have a problem with is all these people new to the scene saying DT stands against the drugs when there is clear evidence that this wasn't the case in the past. I'm glad DT has taken the stance he has now, but you newcomers don't know the way it used to be, that's all I'm trying to say. I would love to see a drug-free club scene (as would a lot of us), but that just simply isn't the case. I would never go telling on someone, but if silverbull wants to, that's his prerogative. Personally I don't agree with it.

All I would like to do is be able to drink a beer while listening to DT, I don't think that's too much to ask. Apparently some of you do.

  6. no alochol is the way to go, and I WILL CONTINUE what i did at 6 HUBERT STREET meaning that if i see you doin drugs im telling the bouncers to get you outta there. Danny doesnt like his crowd being on drugs unlike a certain sat night dj who happily does them himself adn gets tyhem from his crowd. And if you knew your history all greatest parties NEVER SERVED ALCOHOL.

Silverbull, I've never met you but I've had mad respect for you and your love of house music. I don't know how long you've been in the scene, but the whole "Danny doesn't like his crowd being on drugs" is a new thing, back in the day Danny at the very least had absolutely no problem with it (I've heard stories going way beyond "having no problem with drugs" at twilo, tunnel), but won't go into it here. I for one do not do any drugs, but I still like to have some drinks, and as much as I loved vinyl, my one pet peeve was that I couldn't even get a drink there. As for the comment "Danny doesn't like his crowd being on drugs unlike a certain sat night dj" - clearly shows that you weren't around in DT's twilo/tunnel days.

  7. IMO, avb is the best dj in the world right now. Missed him at crobar cuz I had to work, missed him in ibiza cuz carl cox was the same night (and everyone said we had to see cox there, and I'd seen avb everytime he came to nyc before that). I won't miss this one. People may wave hands in the air and look at him like a god, but if you've ever seen one of his interviews he's one of the most down to earth djs there is.

    Can't wait for this :bounce:

  8. While I thought his set at deko was great, his crobar set was good, and seeing him in ibiza was one of the most ridiculous sets I've ever heard, I can understand why notallthere thinks he's boring. A few of the tracks at deko, and quite a few more at crobar would be enough to put someone to sleep. He plays what some call "soulful" house - which I like some of, but some of it I have come to interpret as slow, boring house. Now, before you fuckers flame me, note that I said above I loved his set at deko and heard one of the best sets of my life @ pacha in ibiza. But at deko there were a few songs I was like "what the fuck" - they really bored the hell outta me. Same thing at crobar - most of the time he was good, but several tracks were very boring to me.

If any of you have his cds, you will know that several of his cds are EXTREMELY boring disco house/slow house. Not my taste in music at all. I guess it's all a matter of opinion.

So, while I think he's a great dj overall, I can see why someone would find him terrible on one of his slow/disco house nights.

  9. So I'm at Deko for Roger Sanchez (who by the way was fucking great), and towards the end of the night I end up meeting Denny for the first time (after listening to him for the past 2 years @ tempts)... anyway, I said what's up, bla bla bla... then I go to leave and turn on Sirius 62 in my car on the way home, and who else but Denny Tsettos is on. He's throwin down a RIDICULOUS set on my way home - unbelievable shit. This may not be a big deal to those of you who are in the music biz or talk to djs all the time, but I thought it was pretty damn cool. :)

  10. Whats funny is Cnn showed a map broken down by county and the whole country in washed in red. Kerry basically won the big cities and tahat all - so if you want em you can have em. More counties in NJ - Penn were republicans - Get a breakdown by county. Let me see if I can post one. Its an eye opener.

Maybe you haven't been around a while, but that's the way it always is. Urban areas almost always vote democrat, rural areas almost always vote republican. When Clinton won in '92 & '96, he lost more than 90% of counties, but won by a clear majority. Just pointing out that this is the way it always works out.
