  1. including that they issue you an international driver license .. so u can drive any where in the world the minute you lay foot on another soil ...

    QUOTE]

didn't know that... that's pretty damn cool

looks like people disagree on this... guess I'll try to get some euros & travelers checks before i leave, then check the ATMs to see what the finance charge is

  2. Ok, I pretty much have it figured out (for anyone who may need this in the future)... Victoria station seems to be the best place to switch trains - from there you can take the underground (London's version of the subway) to Heathrow, and a number of trains or buses to Gatwick. There's also over a hundred pubs within a mile of there, so that's good enough for me. There is a bus that goes directly between Heathrow and Gatwick, but it stays outside the city and doesn't go to any areas with pubs/restraunts - but if I was in a hurry I'd take that bus.

  4. Actually, nevermind the part about having to be near the airport. I just talked to a friend who said the train system is really easy, and looked up the train/tube/underground whatever you call it map, and it looks pretty easy. So I guess here's the question - what's the best part of London to go to for bars/pubs?

if u are lookin for a good club check out FABRIC forgot the location. its in london not to far from tower bridge. the place is nuts, fridays its drum and bass. and saturdays trance. when i went to london last summer.....

Fabric looks cool, but it is only open at night, and we are going to be there from 9:30am till around 5pm on our way to ibiza, so we need places that are open during the day (hopefully the pubs open early). On our way back, we will be there from 1am till 7am Sunday night/Monday morning - are there any places open on suday night?

Im sure my mates down in Lewisham/Lee would be down for pub crawl. But as mentioned above there isnt much near the airports.

Sounds good to me - so where is a good place to go? Central London maybe?

  5. Doesn't look like many people check the London board, so I'll post this here:

On our way to Ibiza this saturday, we have a 10 hour layover in London, and another 10 hour layover on the way back about a week later. We have to get from Heathrow to Gatwick on the way there, and vice versa on the way back. So my question is this - are there any bars/pubs to kill time at near Gatwick (for the way there) and Heathrow (for the way back)?

Also, what's the best way to get from airport to airport - bus? train? taxi?

Anything else we should definitely do while there? We probably only have 5 or 6 hours to kill with having to check in early, and travel from one airport to the other so I'd like to stay somewhat close to the airport we'll be flying out of next.

  7. I initially went with sirius because they had more dance stations - never tried XM so I can't say how they compare, I'm happy with sirius. Haven't listened to a local radio station in 2 years since I've had it, definitely worth it.

Besides the NFL, sirius has also announced deals with airlines and a few others, their stock is a definite buy right now.

ULTIMA WORLD RECORD! Thursday 19th August

640bhp GTR smashes 0-100mph-0 time by half a second

The Ultima Factory yesterday smashed the production car world record in an Ultima GTR for sprinting to 100mph and back to zero again beating times set by all manner of supercars.

Driven by Ultima Director, Richard Marlow, the factory built Ultima GTR set a new world record time of 10.3 seconds to achieve 0-100mph-0 smashing the previous record by half a second. The British built super car stormed from 0-60mph in 2.8 secs and reached 100mph from standstill in an incredible 5.9 secs before coming back to rest a mere 4.4 secs later.

All of the times were set by a standard, factory built, fully road legal, road tyred Ultima GTR built using all of the high spec factory specified and proven parts. The car was even equipped with a few luxuries such as air conditioning but no traction control devices; launch control systems or ABS braking aids were used.

The car was fitted with its recommended Porsche G50 5 speed transaxle and normally aspirated 640BHP 377ci Chevrolet V8 engine which is a standard offering by the factory from its official engine suppliers American Speed.

Ultima are particularly proud that their record time beat the legendary £630,000 McLaren F1 road car by well over a full second at less than one tenth of the cost!

Richard Marlow, Director of Ultima Sports Ltd said “The 0-100mph-0 test is believed by many to be the ultimate test for any car and is a true indicator of a cars all round performance ability. We haven’t strapped any timing gear onto one of our cars for a few years now and decided that the time was right to demonstrate to everybody how we have been successfully developing our product over the years and gained a world record in the process."

Bouyed by his success, Richard continued, "We also wanted to go on to measure the 0-200mph-0 time at the relatively short Bruntingthorpe runway on the same day however severe rain and thunderstorms curtailed this for now but it didn’t stop Ted from achieving a rather interesting 192mph pass in the wet on standing water with over 1500rpm still available!â€

The test was conducted, overseen and verified by an official from Datron Technology and the latest state of the art GPS timing gear was utilised to achieve and ensure maximum accuracy.

A submission has been made to Guinness Book of Records.

  9. i play in a great touch league. 9 on 9. and i agree flag sucks. shoot me a pm. we play in bloomfield (essex county)

I've played both as well... just wondering why u think flag sucks.... just because it is easier to "2 hand touch" someone as opposed to grabbing their flag... or am I missing something?

  10. i have a question for toyota: if you are not going to produce performance cars anymore....why spend hundreds of millions a year on an F1 team?

That is a very good question...

I'm very curious as to why toyota hasn't brought the supra back... even a watered down version... nissan has made tons of $$ off the z, I would think that if toyota brought somthing back even close to the old supra they woulda made mad $$...

  11. BREAKING NEWS:

Tiësto performing at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games, Athens 2004.

This evening on Dutch television the Greek artistic director of the openings ceremony (Dimitris Papaioannou) confirmed that they were very proud to have Tiësto as a part of their official opening of the Olympic Games of Athens 2004 on Friday August 13, 2004. He is going to spin his music live during the parade of athletes. During this parade all participating nations introduce their athletes.

    Sweeeeeeeet

  12. bwhahha what part of "performance sports car" didn't you understand? With that being said *maybe* the supra for a couple of years, don't remember which one it was though, and the Mr.2 hahahhahahahha lol, I don't care what generation it is....definitely not a performance sports car, IMO.....thanks :type:

    "maybe" the supra???

I need to get ahold of whatever you're smoking

  13. Greed

yeah that pretty much sums it up. I can't believe the owners let saturday night turn to shit this year (I can't speak for sundays, but saturdays other than holidays and classics have sucked). If they knew anything about supply and demand, they would let people in for free and make money off alcohol on off nights, or maybe actually get a promotional team to promote saturdays!! What an idea!!

I was really pissed off when I heard Denny was considering leaving after this year, but after seeing how empty the saturday parties have been and how much less fun than it was than last year, I hope he does leave and go to somewhere else where the ownership will actually promote his party and make it good times like it used to be. I'm fuckin wasted right now (I can type only if I have one eye closed) but I stand by the fact that non holiday or non special event saturdays at tempts have sucked. I looked forward to tempts all winter, only to be let down by the weak ass crowd it's been drawing. Don't get me wrong, muscially, Denny has been as good as ever this summer - it's just that it isn't the same unless the place draws a decent crowd.

So back to the original topic of this thread, tempts doesn't have a free night cuz they're unwilling to sacrifice profit. They're unwilling to spend $$ to promote the party in the first place, unwilling to discount at the door in order to get people in there, basically they're not willing to do anything to promote or keep the party the way it used to be, and thus it is dead as fuck on saturdays. They've basically been relying solely on Tsettos to pull a crowd, but as as good as Tsettos is, it takes at least some promotion to pull a crowd. And with the upcoming of the XS party, people are going there and not to Tempts. :(

I can never make in on sundays due to work, but I've heard sundays are going decently well - so I can't judge sunday night.

I'm just extremely pissed that the one party I looked forward to for nine months of winter now sucks, because of lack of promotion.

  14. I thought the LaTroya party beat the Space Party by a hair, but they were both sick. I need to hit DC-10 next year. I heard it's great.

I keep hearing a lot about DC-10, but they don't list any djs so there's not telling who's there (as of right now)... what night is the best night to go there?

  15. three must nights that i see you have on your schedule are we love sundays at space, roger sanchez at pacha and most definately carl cox at space.

Carl cox's night has the best vibe and energy of any other party on the island imo. I think most others would agree with that statement as well. If youre arriving late on sat night i would suggest just going to sleep cause sunday at space is ridiculous. Youre gonna need some rest depending on how long your flight was. Sat's in the past have been a change over day for the island meaning a lot of people are coming and going so the clubs dont usually have big nights. Oh and you def cant miss eric morillo and guests on wednesday night at pacha. Have fun and bring money

I've heard a lot about manumission @ privilege (on the same day as sanchez @ pacha), but for some reason they don't show what dj is there... guess I'll have to wait and see who's there and decide between that and/or sanchez. I'll probably end up at carl cox's closing party, even though avb is on the same night and has been my favorite dj the last couple of years. I can see him whenever he comes to nyc, but I love cox haven't been able to make it to see him in over 2 years. Both sundays at space are a definite - heard too many good things about this party. I'll try to check out morillo on wednesday as well, but I've never seen picotto and always wanted to, so I gotta hit that up for a little while. Anyway, thanks for the info, I'll try to check out as many of these parties as I can.

  16. Our schedule will probably look like this:

9/4: arrive saturday night, not quite sure what to do yet

sunday: space all day & all night (sasha, james zabiela, lawler, tom stephan & others)

monday: manumission @ privilege and/or roger sanchez @ pacha

tuesday: carl cox closing party @ space and/or armada closing party @ amnesia (avb and others)

wednesday: meganite closing party @ privilege (mauro picotto), maybe something else

thursday: cream @ amnesia (tiesto, nu nrg, seb fontain, tall paul) and/or deep dish @ pacha?

friday: danny howells @ pacha or something else?

    saturday: not sure yet

sunday: space all day & night until our flight leaves

The dj schedule doesn't seem to be quite filled in yet, hopefully it will be more filled in before we go. We're definitely gonna have to hit up places like DC-10 and a few other clubs, but it seems most of the big events are at space, pacha, privilege and amnesia. Any suggestions for parties we should definitely hit up?
