  1. Hmmm...how much is the ferry across the river? & congrads Maudy, good 2 know you'll b here 4 several more months @ least.
  2. U wankers. I don't mean 2 ruffle feathers, but u missed one of the top sets of the year so far last nite @ BSB, the whole lot of u. Infinitee & MC Linzee scorched the lil bar everyone's forgotten about (or more likely never heard of) in Billyburg. The man has mixing skills and scratching very close to the levels of the mighty Wool and brings an infectious nrg that's more or less alien to the NY party area. Hands down his relatively long (100 mins, which is long for a bar party) set stole the nite, not that CER & Robinson lacked anything themselves. But really, the sound and vibe they were creating (b4 a relatively tiny crowd mind u) was inspiring to watch & to listen to. It was very much old skool funky west coast breax mixed in with alot kickin Fla beats that are definitely different from what you'd hear say, Cara play, usually anyway. And I think the percussion he brings in on alot of that stuff doesn't really sound like Atomik Rage's old skool choons either. Not having spent enough time in the West Coast breax heartland, I can't definitively put my finger on the magical musical element he injects into his music, maybe it's PLUR, maybe it's the touches (actually more like large juicey chunx) of acid he sweetens his mixes with, or maybe it's the mad skillz he constantly sprinkles over top his track melange, but this badass Bay Area titan can spin it with the best of em! And seriously, I'd say openly to Cara and Glen, u lot should book em 4 your party in May, along with Linzee who I'll get to in a second. His sounds flow well with yours Cara, and his skills (among others) mix seamlessly with yours, Glen. What 2 say about the mighty Linzee's top flight crooning skills? Well 1st off, I haven't seen a MC strut her (or his stuff) atop a breax set, but ytf not? Basically what she was treating us lucky few to was a top flight Junglistic level intensity of delivery, but just @ lowe BPMs. This woman can belt and she does so with class, as smooth as any local jungle MC could, if not on a par with the best of the UK chanteuses (YET!). And b/c the bpms were not @ the level of a jungle set, you had a similar intensity in her stylings, her intensity simmered, never quite blowin up the way it probably would've in a jungle set, but always on the verge of doing so. The flow she seamlessly created overtop Sean's mixing made it seem like a organic part of his set. What a brilliant concept to put these 2 together (like chocolate and peanut butter ) & didn't anyone think of this sooner? I can't even imagine how good she'd sound crooning atop a nu skool set from one of our local titans. In short, it was a fab hour and 40 mins that was the nite's highlight. Last nite was much more of a let it all rip old skool party from Robinson in particular, and the last half hour of the party felt like I was listening to my own old late 80s kick butt breaks, freestyle collection. Sweet Sensation, Morris Day & the Time, the original Stakker Humanoid (which I never heard b4) and the mighty mighty Theme from S'Express (come on & listen 2 the Juggernaut OOO OOO OOO!!!!!) holy shit does it show how phat dance music was from that decade. U like your stuff new, I can respect that but Robinson really gave us a history lesson going back 4 decades last nite in his set that I can't really think anyone has matched, from the traxx I mentioned 2 Kraftwerk, some stuff from the 60s, and healthy doses of early 80s electro that spanned the gambit of breax's roots...the only thing missing was hip hop...well we did get a lil of that from Linzee I guess and since Robinson is a hip hop DJ too, u can hear that whenever u want, so nothing lost there even really. The mighty CER's trip back in time was likewise very nice and varied kickin off with a Frankie Bones mix of the Shamen's early 90s club monster "Move Any Mountain!" Holy crap did that likewise take me back. CER's set covered the gambit from funkyish beat filled older breaks to solid doses of electrobreax, alot of early proggy breax, and some healthy doses of housey influences as well. Varied indeed, and again a departure from his trademark nu skool heavy sound. It certainly shows the depth of his influences. So what can I say? Lame turnout, but u all had fun @ Coal, so that's cool. We had a phat time all the same. Shouts: the Mikes, Sean, Siren, Linzee, Steve, Kristie, Kim, the bartending MC. Let's do this again. Peace.
  3. Man & here I was worrying I spent 2 much time watchin Nick @ Nite. How bout a fisticuffs between Archie Bunker & Alex P. Keaton?
  4. Good. Now u have no excuse 2 miss Bittersweet since you'llalready b in the neighborhood, Maudy. Infinitee even posted on nubreaks, & they got a MC tonite 2. Some of u lot better show.
  5. Not sure where this thread is going anymore. O well.
  6. Grad school...well in my case anyway. Sorta need a higher degree than a Bachelor's if I ever wanna get out of administrative jobs.
  7. They don't hate us in Western Europe, they're just alot more liberal than we are politically and in many ways socially too. Even most of the so called conservatives. Though in Russia and Eastern Europe, it's a different story.
  8. Wow all us leftists r comin outta the woordwork. It's about time. U know, I expect an angry retort from Tribal and possibly others to what I and others have said, but maybe we could get this back on track in regard to the original topic of the thread. Why do many Moslem societies have a beef with the US? My bad as well for going off track on that, if I did.
  9. No I think he means, or could anyway, the 19,000 Palestinian refugees Israel's current PM killed in Lebanaon, for example. The only stupid shit is stuff like you post Tribal if you don't realize the fact that Israel's killed far more people than it's lost, @ least in the last decades in places like Lebanon and the occupied territories. No one's denying many innocent Israelis and Americans haven't lost their lives, as well many less innocent members of their militaries, but the losses on the Palestinian and Lebanese side @ least have been far higher. Add up the numbers yourself. It figures the war criminal now in office would be the bonehead to get his country stuck in a new quagmire that might take it a couple decades to get out of, just like he did b4 in Lebanon.
  10. Well @ least the argument is getting a lil more balanced now.
  11. Well I'm supposed 2 say Shugga since she has some poll numbers 2 back her standing up, but I think I'll have 2 vote 4 K-Swing, having not yet seen Reid Speed live.
  12. Ya and there's a terrible misconception on this board about those societies as well. But whatever most of u have yer heads too far up yer butts to ever understand that.
  13. Maudy & Joe u really should stop by BSB later on both 2 c Infiniti and 4 another reason I can't say, but which you should find out later in the week. As I said elsewhere, I should b @ Coal next week.
  14. Wow I never knew my new home was such a hotspot. Haha. O this is the ollllllllllldddddd thread. So old I thought it had dropped off the board by now.
  15. I can't believe I'm quoting him, but as Reagan would say, "There U go again." Well @ least it's starting a discussion, but I doubt that'll last.
  16. Btw Tilly, maybe u saw above, but Tipper & Salim Rafiq may be here in April too. And lastly, Turbulence 3'll be March 21st with CER & Robinson confirmed in the lineup so thus far...more 2 be added later. Another event, esp 4 Flaheads, but everyone else should check it 2. Icey, Smalls, Imri, and NY/NJ's own K-Swing will all b spinning Icebreaker2 @ Motion in Philly on Fri 3/15. Go here 4 more info: http://pub55.ezboard.com/freflectivefrm6.showMessage?topicID=1094.topic

Btw, it's referring 2 him & Tipper. Fuel tour info About the gig in NYC... We are still trying to work it out with the promoters, it looks like it will happen sometime mid april. As for the Muscle cars they will be at every gig in the u.s., unless of course promoters fuck up. If anyone has hookups/contacts with promoters in your city feel free to leave me your info. As of now we have over 20 dates that will begin after the conference in Miami and the tour will end in Vancouver at the end of May. outro Salim Rafiq & this was posted by Blunted Circuitz, very early this morning, on a different nubreaks thread: damn...u hear the new Krafty Kutz??? once again, Finger Lickin' is on point new Krafty Kuts EP is dope! definately worth a long listen...and yes, he will be in NYC for a few dates in April, rippin up the place....late pete www.bluntedcircutz.com
  19. Joey, how exactly does that make U an asshole? LOL
  20. I thought instant heart attack was gabber.
  21. LOL Thanx Deb yer the best. No I've been there and done the trance thang. I think the 5 or 6 year investment I gave it was long enough. Who's the hacker anyway? SOM and the Plumps have both been pushed back indefinitely. I've read SOM'll be in DC sometime in March or April, but I haven't gotten a date yet. U know I'll post it when I do. Only headliner 4 the 29th is Hyper, but unless you've seen him, I'd still go since the lineup is killer with him, Sara, CER, Royce, & JRock.
