    Breaks at Space

thank you very much pbrane. jackie and i have always seen eye to eye when it comes to intelligent nu-skool breaks and up-front quality music as a whole. unfortunately, as you can see breaks is not very popular here in miami. atleast not nu-skool breaks. but as the person who most eliquantly has put it to me digital7 a.k.a. danny boy. it's always better to stay a step ahead of the masses as it deals with our music. i laugh to myself when i'm at the gym and i hear peepz talking about some dj called steve lawler coming down to miami. it makes me feel good because i know that peepz are starting to realize what quality music is all about. as far as our breaks are concerned here are a few breaky tracks that are really moving me now. i hope to meet you one day pbrane. the first drink is on me;) 1.andy page ft. george clinton "elementofunk" mix 1 & mix 2 2. klaus "heavyweight" hill "bubblegum/techno tune" 3. databass "stress resistance strain" mind & heart mixes 4. tom mangam "backwards retro" cass mix 5. capoeira twins "flick the switch" 6. stewart keenan "feel now" breaks mix 7. soul of man "outback/kickback" 8. kraymon "who wants some/somehow green" 9. freq nasty "clit licka" 10. meat katie & dark globe "feel it" 2003 edit (my favorite breaks track of 2003) fuc* yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! abe
  7. thinking about it.........i know how lawler plays his sexy sets. and all the girls cream when he plays. so if dj roland opens for him??? i am there. if not i am not waiting until 3:00am in a club with no re-entry to listen to lawler,:rolleyes
  8. if rolly opens i will go. be looking out for steve lawlers remix of scanners "shiver" a dirty ass bassline. typical lawler. u see podster if rolly opens it will be a lot more bearable for me to wait until 2:00am or 3:00am until lawler hits the decks. if not, enjoy peepz. i can't stay stuck in that place for too long without getting a breath of fresh air.

    Breaks at Space

the last time louis puig booked a breaks artist was lee burridge @ spin. unfortunately when lee burridge was at his dirtiest throwing some nu-skool breaks the crowd emptied and lee was dissapointed. so i really don't give a fuc* if they play breaks @ space or not because i know that it aint ever gonna happen. and by judging how outta hand and dirty, sick, and awsome phil k was @ nerve this past friday throwing down some of the dirtiest breaks i have heard all year. i have my club to hear breaks and other genres of not the same old same old prog house over and over again. props go to dj roland. he's the only dj @ space who currently plays breaks.
  10. but unfortunately i don't see that happening anytime soon bro. as i don't plan to hit space for a long time. i am tempted to check out lawler as his remix of scanners "shiver" has been really moving me. but, i see that being a 15% chance that i go. but, as long as people like you continue to support dj roland, his mystique will never die.
  11. yes, i must agree with you there andres. but, dude that was almost 6 years ago. times have changed and the music has changed. don't get me wrong i will never forget that night back in "98" when i heard pvd. he was amazing. a night i will never forget. andres what are you doing this wednesday. go and check out parks & wilson @ nerve. i know u would dig them.
  12. peepz i beg of you. please do not miss parks & wilson @ nerve. for those that haven't heard them they are 2/3rds of tilt. the other member ofcourse is john "quivver" graham. these guys are sick!!!! plain and simple sick wicked shit. just say no to any other event maybe jimmy t @ maze for a little warm-up. get ready peepz 2 days until parks & wilson.
  13. trance sucks!!!!!!!!! trance is dead!!!!!!!!
  14. the day of the mega-club is over my friends. i hate that shi*. loosing your best friends and your chic amongst the crowd of pookie-heads. that's why i'd much rather go to a smaller venue where the music really matters. like nerve or luna. space hello!!!!!! louis hello!!!!! i guess you are not hearing my cries of frustration. damn i miss listening to dj roland. re-entry? digital cameras? glowsticks? a place to fuc*in sit? what a shame see u all @ nerve this thanksgiving week
  15. 2 more days until parks and wilson. i have been studying my arse off for my final exam on wednesday 2:00pm. jon, get that dancefloor ready. tilt in the mutherfuc*ing house
  16. unfortunately deep dish two great dj's are playing at a venue that i do not particularly enjoy. peepz try something new and refreshing. the sounds of tilt never dissapoint. i think parks & wilson r really gonna be up for it
  17. i see myself sleeping @ nerve 4 thanksgiving weekend. damn jon, miguel migs is outta hand. i hread that he made history in this years ovum party for wmc. funky as fu*k:afro:
  18. don't miss wednesday night rachel. thank you for wishing me good fortune on my exam;) parks & wilson are money in the bank. a dynamic duo of upfront house music. i hope 2 see u there. if not wednesday, friday for sure
  19. sorry to hear that dude. i am still looking forward to meeting you bro. marco tells me that you are kicking arse @ luna and taking a lot of risks with some querqy tech house. keep up the good work bro. only if that dumb ass bouncer would have known how talented you are as a dj. but fuc* that bro. it's all good. and by the way congratulations on the proton radio gig. long live quality upfront muzik:cool: oscar
  20. i have a great memory of a parks & wilson set. it was @ crobar in either late 2001 or early 2002. when they were ontour to promote their "painting on silence" 2cd out on bliss. all i remember was that everyone @ crobar was dancing. not one person was still. everyone caught up in the parks & wilson groove. not to mention these guys are super down:) i am really looking forward to this night. beware of mick wilson "the black dude" he is wicked.
  21. i think phil k will have an ace in his deck of records next friday night. the man is simply outta hand behind the decks. then seaman to educate the crowd. i'm sure dave seaman is gonna be up for it. especially after last time it was so difficult to play after such an amazing set from infusion.
  22. on wednesday i have my final exam @ school. so hopefully this will be my celabration for passing my final. parks & wilson, phil k, and the legend dave seaman. @ my favorite club. wahooo!!!!! rachel so nice to hear from you. i really do hope you can come out and celebrate with me next week @ nerve. phil k is a wicked dj. you and chaz will love him. whenever i think of phil k, i think of artists like nubreed, infusion, and grayarea. i also need to ask you about your halloween and your sexy costume. abe.....great muzik is coming peepz
  23. thanksgiving weekend, will see me @ nerve for artists like phil k, dave seaman, and a surprise that jon has cooked up for wednesday evening. yes, it's even better than your turkey. phil k is not to be missed if u r a break-beat enthusiast as myself. hope 2 see u all out @ nerve next week.
  24. u will know why nerve is my favorite club in miami. not to mention fu*k deep dish next wednesday night @ space. and i guarantee u will have a great time @ nerve especially after who i just heard jon booked. listen to me peepz. go check out phil k next friday night along with dave seaman. i really believe phil k will rival infusion live, hybrid, lee burridge, james z, and jon lisle for best set @ nerve this year. :D
  25. for those who have never heard stryke. you are in for quite a musical treat. the man is a live producer. basically playing records and making tracks with all kinds of sophisticated toys right b-4 your very eyes. a true pioneer for the sound that is moving me right now. and merlyn with breaks. now we're cooking.
