  1. Tony Draper doesn't suck. Oh, I'm sorry.. what I was meant to type was: Tony Draper doesn't suck?!? Oh boy... the horror at Exit on Friday night. The things he made me go through.... First of all, a DJ should be able to follow these next three simple steps, or he shouldn't be playing music at all (not even on his discman): 1. He should be able to buy records 2. He should be able to mix them 3. He should be able to create nice build-ups and break-downs in the music... OKey, so Draper is able to buy records... He just doesn't know which ones... I think the only store he knows in NYC is the Free-Asian-Import-Record-Shop or something. I think Draper looks at the cross-fader the way I look at the scroll-lock button: WHAT's IT FOR?!? This man just waits till one record is over, then start with another. I allways thought practice makes perfect.... guess this doesn't work for everybody. That's it for step two and three. Then... the Asians going KungFu on lightbulbs... what the hell is that? They finally found out how that shit works? After that there's the topless guys. Only seen that at gay parties. They probably liked all the touching they could do there and decided they should do it at Exit too. Anyway, the Vinyl on saturday was a nice little party... I'm used to a little more pitch though. I didn't know the term Tribal by the way, but I liked it. Lawler did his homework. See you guys in Holland, I'm leaving tonight, delKing.
  2. There's no substance that can make the music sound better. If the music sucks it sucks with or without it. The people look happier though. And the lights are having this strange effect and rising above the crowd... well I never do that sober! See you there, FreshJive.
  3. In a couple of hours he'll be leaving his hometown, delKing will be beginning his quest: The search for better parties and phatter beats than he has ever encountered. After a long 14 hour trip he should be arriving in NYC. If the pilot knows to avoid the many tall buildings there are. That is when the moment is there. That is when the truth will reveal itself. Will it be an experience not to forget, the way he imagines it will be, or is it all just a waste of time and money. He hopes not. All people should achieve total happiness as many times as possible. All people should think happy thoughts. Only people who think this way should be present at the nice exchanges of dance-moves (all at no extra cost off course). Will the delKing succeed? Will delKing and his buddy the Merkenstein find parties a Dutch man can only dream of? And will they be able to lay down some of their dances? Find out next week, I'll let you know. The one thing is certain: Armin van Buuren.
  4. Yes People, Comin straight from Holland... ARMIN VAN BUUREN!!!! One of the reasons to be proud to be Dutch (I bet I get to see him more than you do)... And one of the reasons to visit New York once in a while... I'll be the one with the yellow "FreshJive" shirt talking to Armin See you there...
  5. OKey ppl, This is me, after a veeeerrry nice party (notice the daylight shining on my face?)... I've tried for about 5 hours now to go to sleep... Too bad I didn't get any though and I have to go to work... I didn't dare to try a higher resolution... Maybe next time before I'm going to do some dancin'. delKing.
  6. Maarruh.... Neem je geen bommen mee vanavond... tSchijnt (of tScheint? Neh) dat je dan het land niet meer in komt. Maar m'n grote zus woont in New York. Misschien kan ik je bellen vanuit haar, naar je hotel. Koele naam hoor, Micha. Latros Patros, Roellie. Ik zal even een fotootje van mezelf maken.... tot zo...
  7. Hey, I'm Dutch and my cousin is from Austin. She said she never heard of or seen a VJ (not from MTV, but the guy that mixes videos at parties on a large screen). I was shocked.... I mean do the US know VJ's? Where should I go in NY, to see some pro s at work? Like Micha Klein (www.michaklein.com; from the well-known PILLMAN) or REL or Danielle Kwaaitaal. Do any of these names sound familiar (<-- is that the way to spell it?!?)? See you in a couple of days NYC!! delKing. OHMYGOD... just found a nice piece about Micha: http://www.adobe.co.uk/motion/features/micha/main.html check out the quicktime-movie!! He's good... No VJ is as interesting... believe me...
  8. Well too bad... You don't think he has opened it before the 6th of may? (I'm coming over for a week).... But... what happened in the Tunnel?
  9. Hey, what's "The Tunnel" like? Should I go there, when I'm in New York, or should I just skip it?
  10. I'll let you know... I just can't wait to go... How is the supply of drugs in NY and uhm... the door-policy... do you have to take your clothes off for a full cavity search or do they just look at you to see whether you're still on the same planet as they are?
  11. People... 4 letters.... MDMA... Why get all fucked up, when these 4 letters can answer every question there is in life... Try shrooms when you're outside...lying under the trees... no music... just you, your friends and your "friends"... Just don't be alone...
  12. So.. Let me get this straight.... You're suggesting: Friday: - Vinyl Saturday: - Exit - SoundFactory (around 6) My god... I love New York... going to a club where there's still a beat pumping at 6! Over here there's only Lounge....
  13. I'm Dutch and I'm coming to New York..... Tell me people... WHERE DO I GO IN NYC?!? I need a whole schedule for 1 week. Right now I've got Friday occupied: Soundfactory (thank you vamptrix) So I still need a thursday, wednesday, saturday, sunday, monday, tuesday...... First of all I like happy people. I don't like clubs where I'm the only one smiling and dancing. I like XTC-people: Smiling and talking with eachother.... dancin' and romancin'... my music: Well I think there is a difference between the Dutch names and what you guys might call it, but I'll give you an impression: - Hard House ---Marco V: GODD ---The Moon: Blow the speakers ---New Order: Confusion ---Fat Boy Slim: Star 69 - Club ---Missy Elliott: For My People (Basement Jaxx remix) - Garage ---NOT that mixture of 2step&Garage, but the real UKgarage - DeepHouse ---The "Deeper" series of HedKandi And uhm... I'm coming over the 27th of April and I'm leaving the 6th of May.
  14. What kind of club do I like? First of all I like happy people. I don't like clubs where I'm the only one smiling and dancing. I don't like those pretty "wallflowers" just standing and looking pretty. I like XTC-people. Smiling and talking with eachother. my music: Well I think there is a difference between the Dutch names and what you guys might call it, but I'll give you an impression: - Hard House ---Marco V: GODD ---The Moon: Blow the speakers ---New Order: Confusion ---Fat Boy Slim: Star 69 - Club ---Missy Elliott: For My People (Basement Jaxx remix) - Garage ---NOT that mixture of 2step&Garage, but the real UKgarage And uhm... I'm coming over the 27th of April and I'm leaving the 6th of May. If anybody's going to Holland be in Amsterdam the 30th of April. It's Queensday in Holland. This will be the first year in my life that I'll won't be there.
