  1. when was randall's idalnd confirmed? i also dont beleive it can happen.
  2. i agree with iliana to a point. certain clubs may get an iflux of a completely different crowd because of who is spinning there but the club's base crowd will still be there. for example, pvd spun at SF, exit, and roxy last year. and while at least half of the crowd was kinda of generic PVD fans, there was a definite difference in each venue. so yeah, PVD made those venues pretty good but I would still pick and choose what events to go to if they are at a club i don't like also, you have to admit that arc will always pull a slightly different crowd cause they don't have a liquor liscence. sure, some ppl really are about the music, espescially there, but i know plenty of ppl who just wont go there cause they cant drink there.
  3. that was such a tease... he needs to come here.
  4. you guys are the greatest! exactly what i needed.
  5. like in the village or east village area. and not too expensive...
  6. venue means something to me. different venues cater to different crowds. i agree that a great dj can spin anywhere - i have seen good djs at webster hall and exit and i dont like those places. but having a better idea of the people and vibe there i wouldn't go back except for a dj i am dying to see.
  7. yeah but that required me to open the thread.... my point was, put it in the title.
  8. sullivan room is a great space. lots of dancing, but still places to sit down. i think the bar is kinda small, but whatever... i forget how the soudn is but i don't think it was bad. you should go check it out.
  9. wow i read your posts on arc and i wasn't going to argue that the music was off, BUT webster hall over arc?? that is a little extreme... maybe kind IV over tyrant but not webster hall....
  10. you guys need to start putting the name of the DJ in your arc review threads. it's monday morning so i actually had to read to see if this review was about friday or saturday...
  11. this is copied form what i posted on the arc board: i expected a lot more negative reviews, honestly but it was an eventful night for me. first, the music - i agree with a lot of others that it was boring. they started off real nice from bill's set and took it nowhere. i was waiting and waiting for it to pick up and it didn't. i did like what i was hearing at first, nice and funky, techy beats. but it could have been the same song the first four hours. (with the exception of the star spangled banner bit, that was cool) so i was gettin pretty bored, worn out really. i was waiting for it to move me and it just didn't to the point that i was just about to leave around 6, and then they played a GREAT breaks track. and i can't resist breaks so i stayed. the breaks didn't last near long enough but the set did get better from that point on, until i left at about 7:30. IMO, i don't want to wait 4 hours to hear a set that blows me away (except maybe with DH, but that is different). so i was a little disappointed. i had never heard tyrant at all before and i heard all these great reviews of them and i expected to be blown away. it was to the point that most of the other talent i have seen at arc this year has moved me more. BUT once they did get going their type of style really is for me. as for the people... i met so many people who were so great! i really thought the crowd was fantastic last night. to me it was like half a howells crowd and half cool people i have never seen before, which is always great. and i met a bunch of new arc board ppl which was great. hope to see you next week. come say hi if you see me cause i am blind at finding ppl in the club.
  12. i prefer early. i mean, what else am i going to do sunday afternoon. and plus i have work in jersey monday mornings.
  13. blame mother nature. teh snow removal budget went way over this year.
