Sony's new Super CD format fixes the lost harmonics issue, giving the analog "warmth" with digital clarity. Of course this requires some new recording equipment. The good news is they just started making dual Super CD/normal CD discs. Put in a regular cd player, you get what you get now, put the disc in a Super CD capable player and get the full harmonics of the music.
