(warning long post and I babble) sorry just excited Do not read if you do not want to know about my trip. Well I am back --- and what a way to return to Toronto with all this white stuff we call snow on the ground. Lets just say I clapped when the plane made a safe stop on the runway. So L.A. where do I start -- Great overall trip. The one thing I need to say right up front is this was my first time in L.A. and countless people told me great things and bad things about L.A. but really overall everyone said you have to see it for yourself. Well I did and wow. I am not going to lie to you L.A. is wack for some things and a lot of people will say Trevor I told you so but at same time L.A. really makes u feel like your missing out on so much living in Toronto. Clubs close at 2am sharp cleared out etc. Its all about the private hard to get in after hours up in the hills parties. I checked out a club called SKYBAR WOW its at the Mondrian Hotel and this is the best place to go to in L.A. I thought I was gonna have a problem getting in but before I could even say bullshit at the door he said how many and I said umm 3 and he let us in. WOW huge dance floor with a huge swimming pool in the middle. 2 seat tables wrap around it with bartenders in and around the pool GREAT MUSIC HOUSE and Hiphop but guess what? NO ONE DANCES but oh well. The view looked over all of L.A. wow thats all I have to say. In L.A. there is no smoking allowed indoors anywhere so it was really funny to see all these clubbers outside the club smoking away. The other thing I learned is 99% of people from L.A. have NO CLUE what is going on. This is how it works the 1% of people were born and raised in L.A. They have $$$ but the other 99% are the wanna be actors who moved to L.A. and who work at blockbuster or at the bar trying to afford there acting lessons or the cost for a agent. So everytime I would ask people hey where is this or that huh what u taking about really? a dance club? whats that? lol Jay T said to me you will think Toronto clubbers are spoiled once you go to L.A. -- He was somewhat right. I mean If you do not have a car in L.A. your fucked. The few clubs they do have there are so well hidden u really have to drive all over. The clubs they do have people really do not dance and the clubs that they do dance at well lets just say JOKER or Joes type places -- No offense guys. I was really thinking L.A. did not have cool clubbers untill I went to Giant Village and it was like shit where did these 8000 people come from. I bet most were from other cities or countries though -- If you go to L.A. roll with rich people who can get you to the hollywood hills thats where the house partys are and wow thats all I have to say. I checked out soooo much in L.A. from the worst areas in L.A Compton, Crenshaw, Inglewood, etc etc to the really nice spots Rodeo Drive, Melrose Avenue, Beverly Hills, Sunset Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, Brentwood, (I saw where O.J. house was) Hollywood Blvd, Burbank, (where all the tv shows are taped Jay Leno Price is right etc etc) I checked out the Kodak Theater (where the oscars are) Checked out Walk of Fame, saw the famous hollywood sign on the hills, ate at the famous Mels Diner. Fell in love with a great radio station there called Power 106. They play great music and I think they have a tupac rule there They play tupac every 20 mins. diff songs etc. They are very loyal to there L.A. Hiphop Artists. I will show a few key pictures and explain my trip that way as this I bet might be boring to most Giant Village New Years Eve Review The werid thing for me was at about 9pm L.A. time as I was getting ready I turned on the TV and it showed Toronto Canada partying hard so that made me a bit home sick. So then when I said are you nuts Trevor your in fucking L.A. I was ready to go Well I am not Jacko or Double D when it comes to doing reviews but what I can say is wow. I mean over 8000 people on a closed downtown L.A. Street and the event was from 7pm to 5am. They had a giant ferris wheel that you could wait in line to go on. There were 2 stages one main stage and the other in a tent. There was also a huge park right by the main street so you could just chill on the grass etc. It really tripped me out that it was a outdoor event and it was 15 during the night. I kept forgetting that hey this is L.A. to them this is cold. Luke Fair spun really good house and funk. He would go on the mic and say this fucking song is amazing right? the crowd would go so nuts. Tall Paul my god was amazing. He played both stages as well as the afterparty that started 5am to 4pm (bar reopened at 6am by the way ) Paul van Dyk went on at about 1:30am to 5am and he was such a crowd pleaser. The one thing I thought was cool about him was he would dance as well. Danny Howells I heard what he was playing and he SUCKED but hey who am I I am not the best when it comes to knowing whats great or not. I just know what makes me dance or not and Danny SUCKED. Crystal Method did one hour set and it sounded like it was there cd or something and to tell you truth it could have been even as I could not really see if that was them on stage or not. you never know. There were alot of other DJ sets as well as the after party that was sooo fun. oh by the way people who like doing E do not go to L.A. Very hard to find in L.A. and when you do find it its gonna cost you big time. The women at this event very very sexy and what was cool about them was they danced and were having fun. MTV interviewed me from the event and asked me all these questions. I did not take alot of pictures of this event as no matter what pictures or words can not really explain it but here is a few. I spent sooo much $ and ate great food there. I really loved it in L.A. even just based on the weather alone. Always above 20 during the day and never got colder then 10 at night. Anyways if your still looking at this I thank you and I guess thats about 10 mins of your life you will never get back but there was so much I saw there and there was sooooo many stories I could tell but I have bored you all enough.
