  5. Oh and by the way Terry you worked for Ultra and Ultra fired you.
  6. Oh, really and who gave you this information? I would really like to know because that is not the truth. And by the way your dropping the ball quote is getting old!
  7. Terry, Ultra fired you a long time ago, so stop wasting everyone's time and get over yourself.
  8. From what the forecast shows it doesn't look like there will be sun inside or OUT. Rain & storms for Labor Day Weekend. Forecast can be wrong so I guess we will just have to wait and see. But for me inside at night whether it be in the CC or club, depends on the lineup. Ultra has the best lineup for the buck because all the other clubs will have a $20-$30 charge anyway. So, come on guys support Ultra. :) :D

YEP I have been to every Ultra and I have had the best time. So, I am not going to desert Ultra now just because they are going to have it inside the Convention Center. Anyway the forecast shows heavy rain & storms. Sorry, but I would rather be inside on a stormy day and groove to PvD. The show must go on :) :) :) :D :D

    Rave Act

Friends and Supporters: The war on drugs is a grievous attack on our civil liberties......and things are about to get worse. Yes, there have been successes. We've pushed senators to debate the RAVE Act on the floor, we've forced a medical marijuana vote in the House and we've got more support than ever before. Nevertheless, Congress and the Bush Administration are now conspiring against the Bill Of Rights with new legislation that threatens our right to assemble and erodes protections against search and seizure. We have received reports that police are using the RAVE Act to pressure promoters into canceling festivals and events. Unbelievably, the first event targeted by the law was a political fundraiser in Montana. Taxpayer dollars have already been used on an expensive ad campaign calling marijuana users terrorists. Now, in an even bigger grab for control, Senators are working on a controversial bill that could punish nonviolent drug offenders as terrorists. We can't afford any illusions. If the war on terrorism is as unsuccessful as the failed war on drugs, we're all in big trouble. Read on for some important updates and actions you can take on Rave Act II (including a September 6th protest in DC), a new "drugs and terrorism" bill, Drug Czar John Walters secretive tour around the country and the growing fight against U.S. Latin American drug policy. With these new challenges come new costs, and your financial support is crucial in our fight to protect our rights, so please visit our online donation page at: http://actioncenter.drugpolicy.org/ctt.asp?u=44683&l=4472 . 1) RAVE ACT II In the fight to repeal the RAVE Act we have come up against another piece of anti-rave legislation. If made into law, this latest attack on our civil liberties would open more doors for the prosecution of innocent business owners unable to stop drugs coming into their venue. Thousands of our supporters have already faxed their representatives about what we are calling the RAVE Act II (officially known as the Ecstasy Awareness Act) and groups across the country, like EM:DEF and ROAR, are mobilizing voters against the bill. If you haven't faxed your Representative about the Ecstasy Awareness Act, please do so at: http://actioncenter.drugpolicy.org/ctt.asp?u=44683&l=4336 We also need you to fax your Representative about the CLEAN-UP Act if you haven't already. http://actioncenter.drugpolicy.org/ctt.asp?u=44683&l=4337 For more on what you can do to stop threats to hip hop and electronic music see: http://actioncenter.drugpolicy.org/ctt.asp?u=44683&l=4338 2) SEPTEMBER 6TH PROTEST AGAINST THE RAVE ACT Thousands will gather at the Capitol in Washington, DC on September 6th for a musical protest against the RAVE Act and the continuing assault on dance culture. The event, sponsored by ROAR!: The National Dance and Music Rights Alliance, will feature Junior Vasquez, D:Fuse, booths, prizes, and much, much more. Dance for your rights. U.S. Capitol, Washington DC. 1pm onwards. For more information on the protest including directions see: http://actioncenter.drugpolicy.org/ctt.asp?u=44683&l=4339 Tour Buses are being arranged from numerous cities. Please email info@roargroup.org for all general inquiries. 3) NEW DRUGS AND TERROR ACT IN THE NAME OF 'VICTORY' Two years ago, with the very real experience of terrorism in our lives, Senators rushed to pass the PATRIOT Act. Essentially a license for the government to spy on its own people, the Act has become one of the biggest threats to our civil liberties. Now, without urgency, Senators are about to make an even bigger mistake. The misnamed Vital Interdiction of Criminal Terrorist Organizations Act of 2003, or the VICTORY Act (hang on.....that should be a small r and where did the Y come from??), contains numerous disturbing provisions including laws that could charge non-violent drug offenders as terrorists. It has not even been introduced yet and civil libertarians are commanding their battle stations. Judging by the title of the Act the government is more concerned about propaganda than dealing with real issues of terrorism or drugs. This legislation will undermine the country's struggle with terrorism by conflating it with the war on drugs. This legislation will become the next battle ground for civil rights in the U.S. Stay tuned, as you can be sure the Drug Policy Alliance, with your help, will be mounting a concerted and persistent campaign against this act. THE DRUG CZAR'S SECRETIVE TOUR Marching to the beat of the Bush administration's drug war drum, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy's (ONDCP) Drug Czar John Walters is using tax-payer dollars to preach harmful, punitive drug policies across the nation while keeping the location of his appearances secret until the last minute. What does this say about the democratic process and the war on drugs? We've been asking supporters to contact both the White House and the ONDCP to ask that they operate in line with democratic transparency and release the dates and times of the Walter's tour. Damaging all crops, including food, and wreaking havoc on environmental and political conditions in a country already impoverished and plagued by civil strife aerial fumigation has only moved coca growing deeper into the forests and to other areas. The House of Representatives last month narrowly defeated Democrats' efforts to boost funds to fight the global AIDS epidemic by shifting money away from anti-drug efforts in Colombia. The House voted 226-195 against redirecting the money. 13. For all of you people who just want to drag Ultra down, you really have no idea what you all are talking about. It really is a shame that when Ultra needs your support the most the only thing you guys can do is spread untrue rumors and talk shit. You all seem to know it all but the real fact is, you don't. You all seem to forget the legal battle Ultra went through this year to keep Ultra going. Now who's fault was that because it certainly wasn't Ultra's? I don't hear any praises for all of there hard work, money, lawyers and time. But I am sure that they don't want to do anything that would jeopardize Ultra 6 for next year, which is a much bigger event. You guys need to be more appreciative because they have brought all of you the most and biggest DJ's in the world. As you all know the new law does not like our kind and thats what we have to fight, not each other.
  14. Okay, so are you going to help pay for the expenses and take the chance of never being able to do another party on the beach again? No, I didn't think so. Anyway that doesn't solve the problem at hand because they are not going to change their minds. And if you are a real follower of our generations music then you would have known and been concerned about the Amber Law yourself becasue that law just past this year. We have to fight for our right to listen to our music.
  15. There is nothing else going on other than that there are not enough Beach Cops. Because the City gave them the option to go to the Convention Center there is very little that their lawyers could do, if they sued. The Miami Cops have several things going on that weekend as well and they don't have any cops to spare. It is all bullshit what the City is doing but the show must go on even if it is at another venue. Believe me Ultra is going in many different ways to make this Party happen. Ultra did happen this year even though they could have been shut down but they didn't give up. And a lot of money and time was put out by a lot of people to make it happen, so give them some credit under the circumstances. Also for those who don't know anything about the Rave Act under the Amber Alert than I suggest that you look it up because it is very serious for promoters and club owners whether you believe or not. This law is unconstitutional but it is the law now, until people start fighting it and have it reversed.
  16. I hope that you all understand that the cancellation of the Beach party was totally the Cities doing. The promoters were given permission to do the party over three months ago. Just last week the City said NO because they do not have enough cops to hold up an event such as this. The City believes that there will be more than 6000 people and they basically can't handle it. The City has given Ultra the option to take it to the Convention Center but Ultra does not want to do it there. The promoters have been fighting this with lawyers and still have not given up. However there is a big possibility that they will have to change venues. The raids of all the clubs have not helped as well as the Rave Act Bill. The promoters are going straight to the Mayor tomorrow so, I will keep you all up dated.
  17. ULTRA SUNSET BEACH PARTY Labour Day weekend Sunday August 31st '03 2PM- 11PM on the sands of Miami Beach's 21st and the Atlantic Ocean. ULTRA CD Release Party. The Album 01 on PERFECTO RECORDS. PAUL VAN DYK GROOVE ARMADA ARMAND VAN HELDEN ICEY, DONALD GLAUDE AND MORE T.B.A. 18+ Rain or shine, Max capacity 6,000 Limited tickets available. Tickets www.ultramusicfestival.us The Party Continues
  18. I believe you can have camera's but No camcorder's. And yes, you could have camera's last year. There will be some restrictions this year but totally out of Ultra's hands. So, it's either that or No Ultra at all!!!
  19. BREAKING NEWS: Bayfront Park Management Trust Votes To Keep Ultra IMMEDIATE RELEASE - MARCH 10, 2003 BREAKING NEWS: Bayfront Park Management Trust Votes To Keep Ultra Music Festival On Schedule; Ultra Reaffirms Commitment To Work With City Of Miami In a noon hearing today, the Bayfront Park Management Trust denied a request by Miami Mayor Manny Diaz to stop the fifth annual Ultra Music Festival, which is still scheduled for March 22. Diaz voiced these eleventh hour concerns just this past Thursday, March 6, in a meeting at Miami's City Hall. Overwhelming support for the Ultra Music Festival and the existing relationship between Bayfront Park and the festival's promoters carried the day, as the venue's Management Trust voted to have the festival take place as scheduled. The Ultra organization has agreed to work closely with City of Miami officials and agencies, as it has in each of its previous four seasons, to ensure that this year's festival experience is not only safe but a memorable one for concertgoers, the citizens of Miami, and the City of Miami. "I think today was a very important day for the U.S. dance music community. The type of event that we produce was put on trial today, and we were able to prevail and work out a compromise that benefits everyone involved. Everyone decided to work together on the issue of patron safety," said Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes, festival executive producers and co-founders. "Our number one priority is patron safety and enjoyment." As part of the agreement reached today by the Ultra Music Festival, Bayfront Park, and the City of Miami, the festival promoters wish to reiterate that Ultra 2003 is a zero-tolerance event with regard to the use of illegal substances. "We understand the concerns raised by the mayor and the city, and agree on many issues, and we are happy to do everything within our power to make sure this is a safe, successful event," Faibisch and Omes said. "We're very happy to continue to do business with the City of Miami. It makes me proud, having been born and raised in Miami, to continue this lasting relationship." "I'm extremely happy with the decision of the Bayfront Park Management Trust and the support that we've gotten from the local businesses in Miami," said Sason "Bishope" Parry, an Ultra Music Festival co-producer and performer. "Ultra is the signature event for the City of Miami, and we're looking forward to working closely with the city and the mayor to ensure that this year's Ultra is one that the City of Miami can be proud of." "The Ultra Music Festival takes pride in being a culturally diverse festival, and we look forward to bringing one of this country's best ever single-day musical lineups to the Miami community," Parry continued. Bayfront Park, the venue that hosts the Ultra Music Festival, has outwardly praised the Miami-based Ultra Music Festival Organization and its employees on providing a safe festival atmosphere. "The producers demonstrated a commitment to patron safety, collaborating closely with the City of Miami Police and Fire/Rescue," said a letter signed by Timothy Schmand, executive director for the Bayfront Park Management Trust. "The Trust believes that Ultra Music Festival will continue to work closely with them in the future." Of the music events held annually in Bayfront Park, the Ultra Music Festival is by far the biggest, drawing over 35,000 music enthusiasts in 2002. From its foundation as a 7,000-person event on Miami Beach's 21st Street Beach in 1999, Ultra has grown into one of the best and most successful dance music events not only in the U.S. but in the entire world. The International Dancestar Awards, the European equivalent of the Grammys, nominated Ultra twice as the Best U.S. Event. Ultra Music Festival's impact on South Florida is certainly profound: Over $1 million has been invested to date in this year's Ultra Music Festival. Ultra draws over 35,000 people -- from nations ranging from Brazil to Argentina, from Italy to Spain, from Japan to Australia -- to the Miami area annually, injecting life into the local economy. While tourism suffers around the country, an event like the Ultra Music Festival brings visitors to the region, filling up every hotel, restaurant, and shopping area with tens of thousands of respectable travelers and professionals from all around the world. Ultra Music Festival is routinely one of the highlights of the annual Winter Music Conference, a March music industry gathering that attracts over 10,000 members of the record business, international press, and music fans from all over the world to South Florida for the six-day event. Over 200 of the biggest artists from around the planet -- ranging from festival headliner Underworld to globally revered performers like Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Sasha, John Digweed, Tiesto, and many, many more from Europe, Asia, South America, and all over North America -- have already been contracted and confirmed for the festival, and possess tickets and passports to come to South Florida for Ultra 2003. Many of these artists frequent Miami Beach and downtown Miami throughout the year, playing to massive crowds whenever they appear and supporting the local economy year-round. The fees garnered by artists for performing at an event like Ultra Music Festival help make the Winter Music Conference possible; without the support provided by Ultra Music Festival Organization many artists would not be able to afford the trip to Miami for this annual event. ABOUT ULTRA Ultra 2003 is sponsored by D'VOX Magazine, Coolworld.com, Miami's Party 93.1 FM, and Basswalk Records. Tickets are now $55 and are available through the website, www.ultramusicfestival.us, as well as www.groovetickets.com and via the toll-free number, 1.877.714.7668. For a listing of Florida locations selling tickets in person, visit the Ultra website. VIP Tickets are now on sale via the Ultra website. 20. Ultra will go on........... After what was said at the public meeting at Bayfront Park this afternoon. There will be many changes because of this, which is totally out of Ultra's hands. Ultra will be having a press release in the next couple of days. It doesn't have anything to do with given an extra percentage or any money related reasons. The ultimate target The Mayor was reinforcing was towards drugs and minors at this event. So to be able to continue with Ultra this year Ultra must abide by certain requirements.
  21. Sorry man, no can do this year. Ultra has completed their line up. Maybe next year!!!
  22. Just for your information Alex is the producer of Ultra as well and he books all the artists. Also Rabbit & Underworld will not be playing at the same time.
