  1. I am not sure he even played full 2 hrs.... I got to Avalon late...just as he stepped up to the turntables.

The crowd was more of a touristy type, a lot of young peeps, just hanging out and drinking....some were trying to dance...I guess ;)

Before I knew Oakenfold ended his set.

But fortunately Avalon's resident DJ played some great tunes that kept me on the dance floor.

    Funny thing about Oakenfold:

Most of the people who just got into the EDM/clubbing scene - they love his music...with time tough, they start discovering other DJs and types of EDM and slowly drift away from all that Oakey-cult.

  2. why doesn't this cp member write his review on cp?

    this is :spam:

Since I am the one that wrote this review - let me answer your question.

As a member of CP forums I try to contribute as much as I can, and that includes the many short reviews, opinions and discussions I have posted here about the various parties I had attended.

Recently I’ve decided to get more involved and to start writing full size reviews and reports.

Shane was kind enough to work with me and allowed me to post on his website my first review; Oakenfold at Avalon.

I didn’t know he would post the copy of my review on the CP board, but frankly I have nothing against it. Actually, I was glad to see it.

The fact that the link/post was removed by DaVe – is something between Shane and DaVe. If such links are against clubplanet’s policy, then I am sure Shane will respect that policy and obey it.

Ideally, I would like them to come to some sort of an agreement and if anything, work together because only then we can all benefit and make the NYC club scene even better for the years to come.

  3. reading back on old posts, whatever happened to the hardcore users here......topics of shooting diesel, speedballs, draino, crazy shit.....

questions about how to take E.....weed......softcore shit

people from this board actually used to get together at clubs or bars, hang out.....chill.........now this board is soooooo tame, compared to the past years....any thoughts

i could vent more, but im too lazy

the smart ones get as fucked up as they always have, they just don't broadcast this on the world wide web.

plus we still have to get in touch ;)

  4. ??

is that the new movies that is not even out yet?

Meastro - a documentary movie by this director...Ramos (forgot his first name) about EDM.

This flick is scheduled to be released later this summer

  5. are adults allowed into teen night? will there be liquor?

What is the lowest age for consentual sex in NY?

    Thanks!

    1. you can always leave your ID at home and say you are 17 (just look very mature for your age)

    2. Bring your own

    3. Don't ask, don't tell....or you can always say she said she is 18 ;)

    ENJOY!

  6. My New Balance got so dirty and wet that I just threw them away the next day (they were old anyhow)....Already got a new pair of sneakers....just so I can kill them at AvB :D

Shows like that want me make a trip around EU this year.

There are so many outdoor events in the UK and Prague, Zurich...some are in Spain.

No club can compare to an outdoor event.

  7. The Central Park show was simply great.

And I dare to say that it was the rain that made it truly remarkable.

The music was great...seen PvD about a dozen times and this one was one of his best sets. (track selection way better than the last year )

He was spinning some harder tunes for the last few hours and I just loved it.

The light/laser show was breathtaking - with the rain drops reflecting in the lights. (and I even wasn't on anything...)

Then they had those big balls – people just bouncing them – made me wanna play volleyball ;) but instead I just took my shoes off and danced the night away.

Rain just kept me comfortably cool as I was still breaking a sweat.

Kim and I were wondering how come no clubs come even close when it comes to laser shows...?. Why don’t they install all those fancy lights and lasers and let us have some nice visuals?

  8. This is a perfect example of how NOT to write a commentary about EDM event.

Your racially inflammatory comment how white people just don’t know how to have fun is just not true and not necessary.

Yeah right….maybe I should start hanging out more in downtown Paterson or maybe somehow all the stabbings you hear about on the news (mostly in Latino and black clubs) are part of this great vibe you speak of?

Are you trying to tell me that you never seen white B-boys, rave-kids or just regular white youth that knows the music, knows how to dance and knows how to enjoy themselves to THEIR favorite type of EDM (be it house, techno, trance or anything else).

    Less arrogance and ignorance please.
