I enjoyed digweed but mstrkrft was amazing! Can't wait to hear them again!
-
wow tmb are great! I looked them up on youtube and they are playing some very nice tracks! Very sexy and vibing music! When are they spinning in ny?
-
Francios K @ love is where its at! Wish he was playing with derrick may as well!
Boris vs AVH I say boris.
Enjoy

Vibal with Tedd Patterson is my favorite hands down.
Second is deepspace with francios K.
And for the minimal times I've gone sacred rhythm with joe claussel but don't know if its the party or the dj himself.
-
Joey you should have hit up cielo instead. Tedd dropped killer tunes minimally sounding if thats the proper terminology in a very progressive manner. It was the best more recent set I've heard him spin @ cielo. He's developed his sound 10 fold. Simply Amazing.
-
From what I've heard in the past keith blackstone really knows how to move and progress with his music selection. Last time I heard him spin was at sullivan room so it was a while back but he was solid and on point. As for exacta I love his productions and have heard him a few times at crobar and he was good. Yes tribal can be monotonous if not interjected with different sounds. That's why dj's like chus and ceballos and TKC really move me so much more than just a straight bangin tribal set. It's the building that dj's forget these days I think because every dj is split up in a night unlike when a danny or roger spins where they get to build there musical sets and progress in a more uniform sounding way over having openers. Pictures look good as for youtube it's down but check them out later.

Tedd played a great set but not like the ones he was dropping last year. I remember hearing music from multiple genres mashed seemlessly making you wonder how'd he do that? His set was amazing sat but in a iberican/chus and ceballos type way. Played alot of that proggy tribal shit that I like to hear. As a matter of fact I remember hearing chus and ceballos drop some of those songs in the past. Def a great nite of music. Can't wait to hear him spin at Crobar. Opening up for VC should be a big move for him in the ny scene.
-
Hopefully the tribal headz will come represent! Can't wait!
-
behrouz is awesome! Is this part of evolve I thought it was but maybe not.
-
haha Clinton poster said it best @ the last tkc play. He's way futuristic in his tribal. I mean it's not a complete difference to tribal house in general just that you hear alot of elements other than just tribal giving it just that slight edge of i dunno. Seems he's def worked on having some distinctness to himself and it's great. Wish I could have hit the Afterhours but oh well maybe someday in the future. Arg what time did the party end @?
ps I loved the opener for tkc. I would have thought he might have edged us in slowly but once I walked in he was already on fire with the electro tribal rhythms... A great nite indeed.

Louie Vega and Kevin Hedge are great house djs. They both will most likely be spinnin tonight @ cielo.

My gf and I are headed into the city this wed and thurs (April 12+13) nite as we both have off this week. We both like house and enjoy Dj's such as PvD, Armin, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten.
Does anyone know of any good clubs that are open on these nites that will keep us dancing???
P.S. We are not Chinese from right off the boat.
Thanks
Do you want house or trance cause your dj's are trance dj's. And gabe pretty much listed the top of the chain when it comes to house right there. And I don't know exactly when but I think peralta and rooster are coming to bed. I wouldn't mind checking them out as I love there tunes.

happy bday.......

Yeah, everyone at Webster is just drinking $9.00 beers and $12.00 shots. For any promoter or employee to claim their club is drug free is laughable. Speaking as someone who has sat in the VIP lounge at Webster and passed around the bump-a-lator and been offered everything in the alphabet on the dance floor, I can only assume Webster Hall enjoys some sort of "special relationship" with the NYPD.
The bottom line is that those who run NYC have clearly decided that a thriving club scene is not part of what they see as Disneyland North. Let's be honest, the scene is fueled on chemicals (and please, all you "we only came to dance" types, spare me your lectures). Clubs such as Spirit and Avalon make no serious effort to police themselves and if they did no one would pay $50 to get in. The last time I was at Spirit, when Danny Teneglia was there, it looked like a cast party for Night of the Living Dead. I was just waiting for some cracked out 19 year old to puke on me or drop dead at my feet.
One other note...if, as suggested in another thread, this was some giant conspiracy to crack down on gay clubs, why was Roxy spared?
I agree. I've seen everything at webster hall that I've seen at other clubs. Except good music now. hehe
-
Websterhall definetely used promoters in the past. Maybe they don't use them now but I used to use nova guestlist back in the day.
-
My best pacha time was when Vega spun there. The music/vibe was dead on. I loved Mr. V. doing the song bump live. That song is great on the deeper tip!

Im an old school cat brought up in Chicago where we use to tear up the old WAREHOUSE, Medusas ,AKA, Ive been in the NY house scene since the 90s Raves and lve the old clubs and the new , Ive break danced and house danced all my life but lately Ive seen dancing in the house clubs slowly go from good dancing to "Icant take it anymore" Dont get me wrong I know everyone cant dance and I truly appreciate one that tries and I smile when I see one who really feels the Music, but I want to know if anyone out there feels the same. Tricks are fine but to really feel the music and flow thats a true Househead.
Check out the vega roots party @ cielo it still has that oldschool feel to it within the crowd. There's parties that are geared towards the general masses then there are some that are geared towards the serious music heads like yourself. Maybe you should taper yourself towards those types of parties and dj's. Anyway I agree lots of people do alot of tricks but they have nothing to do with the soul of the music that is being played.

Gonna be a great time!

Wow nice mix. I heard one of your mixes months ago and this is very much improved. Lots of progression and movement in your mix. Love track 3 (I believe its 3) amongst others. Great job!

oo..yea i knew he was some kind of latino, i wonder why brazilian flags were hanging everwhere....
I guess it was a brazilian carnivale theme as the dancers and decor was in that theme. Was a great nite btw. He worked ame rej to the best I've heard yet and I've seen masters like vega and claussel work that track. Great vibe and music last night. Wish most club nites could vibe like Roger S brings it. I def think he's the best house dj or one of I should say.

Aint nothing sweeter than picking up the vinyl at a store and being on the train reading the notes and stuff.
BEATPORT on the 30th should have it.
Nice.

I'll add to this review. The fact is pacha having vega and clan on the main floor made that club. I've never seen pacha lit up or any main floor like that before. Yeah I've seen smaller clubs rockin but a big club nah not to that effect. The vibe was perfect or as close to perfect as you can get in a big club. Louie didn't alter or change he rocked classics galore as well as deep/soul staples of today. The lighting was straight up great not like the last time I went to pacha. The sound was very good and I could tell cause I had zero ringing in my ears unlike other clubs like avalon and crobar. Tons of sexy women yes I was amazed. I guess it takes some sexy house to bring them out.
The basement of course had great elements of house more on the prog/techy/tribally if that is somewhat accurate. Yeah Lola did rip it well we all know she always does and already has fans growing and hopefully she'll make it big. The only thing is that pacha's basement needs sound. After leaving the main floor it seemed more at lounge sound levels. But it didn't matter cause the music was dead on.
Louie vega and clan spun at a class level that roger s does just not as long(unless he's at cielo and such). I wish he would expand this sound of deep/soul in his sets before he goes into the darker tribal and the bangers. Anyway I loved the nite wished it had a more afterhours feel to it but it did not matter. Best big club night I've had in a long time vibe and music wise.

Best party I've been 2 all year long easily. Nothing comes close to it.
