Traffic and Parking Advisory for the World Series Celebration -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date Released: 10/29/2004 For more information, please contact Jim Mansfield. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boston Transportation Department would like to advise drivers that on Saturday, October 30, 2004 many streets throughout Downtown Boston will be closed to traffic and on-street parking will be restricted due to the Boston Red Sox Word Series “Rolling Rally.†Baseball fans coming into Boston for the celebration are strongly encouraged to use public transportation. The parade will start at 10:00 AM on Boylston Street at Kilmarnock Street and will proceed along the following route. Boylston Street Straight on Park Drive/Fenway Straight on Boylston Street Left on Tremont Street Straight on Cambridge Street Vehicular traffic will be banned from the posted parade route and immediately adjoining cross streets by 6 AM. To protect public safety the Boston Police Department may further restrict parking and vehicular movement during the event. Additionally, temporary parking restrictions will be put into effect at several locations throughout the city and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and/or towed. Enforcement of these regulations will begin at 12:01 AM on October 30, 2004. The temporary restrictions are outlined below.
