  1. I'm sorry, but at the risk of sounding ignorant...... who's Smooth/Flores?
  2. One of New York's last venues remaining devoted to the underground music scene celebrates its 4th birthday on March 4, 2006, with sets from the internationally renowed DJ The Scumfrog, and local favorites Alex Pearce and Eric Martinez. Critically acclaimed Sullivan Room was just nominated for Club World Award's Nightstalker Award, a people's choice award voted on by clubbers around the world. This is the second year the club has been nominated, winning the award in 2005. An underground legend, Sullivan Room artists have included Richie Hawtin, Christian Smith, Misstress Barbara, The Scumfrog, Hector Romero, Hipp-E, DJ Heather, D:Fuse, John Aquaviva, and Charles Feelgood. The club has an amazing sound system, yet remains an intimate venue that allows DJs to connect with the dancefloor. Sullivan's March 4th lineup promises to continue the underground tradition featuring performances from The Scumfrog, Alex Pearce and Eric Martinez. As a performer, The Scumfrog's stage presence is unlike any other. His widely publicized and much talked about live performances are not limited to mixing records. They include his live vocals, percussion, samples, and occasional guest performances. His colorful live sets and consistently innovative productions are not to be missed. We are excited to see what he brings to Sullivan Room's upcoming anniversary event. 4. I'm a DJ, not a promoter, get it straight "hun". The promoter is the person putting together the event. And no, the number of people who come out on this saturday night doesn't effect me in the lest bit. Thats on the promoter, its on me to play good music. And I never said that I was "top notch local talent". The people playing that night (michael Arana, EJC collective, etc) are top notch local talent. I suck as a DJ completely. I go out to night clubs for the conversation.
  5. lol, who are you? I'm not a promoter, if 1 person shows up to the party or 600 people show up it doesn't effect me at all. I'm just a DJ guy.... Me and Gabe happen to be good friends so he missed a party on his list, I was taking a poke at him. Now take a deep breath and relax.....
  6. Hey, hey, hey....... come now Gab, aren't you missing a party on that list? Local favorite venue for NYE, dope funky house beats, top notch local talent playing?
  7. Hey guys, Just finished a new mix; Electro's not really my thing but I wanted to put together a disc of what I thought were the best tracks of the genre, etc. It's called Telektro! Have fun http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=03TL5IX7Q0YYZ2E2WMQK6NH07Z
  8. There's def some truth to this. However..... To believe that 'credit' should be given fully to the producer and not the DJ, is to deny the fact that the club experience, like the concert experience is very much a visual and personal experience. The DJ is the one getting you excited, jumping around, getting the crowd amped up. Not the pale and pasty dude who never leaves his studio, and put out the dope track,
