  1. Pioneers have much better sound quality. Goes to show why most clubs don't have the Denon 5000. The pioneers are great and the jog wheel is so easy to use.

Where did you find information that says that Pioneers have better sound quality? Did someone actually run both of these decks through a noise ratio or at least an oscilograph? I'd love to see that. Until there are hard numbers, it's just an opinion.

From my personal experiences, Pioneer 600 mixer, which is considered defacto by most clubs, is probably one of the noisiest on the market. A sub $200 Berhiner DJX 700 produces significantly less noise, you can actually hear the difference by ear. I own both.

  2. those are very good...its between the 800's or the DN-S5000 for me...good to see ya posting bro...

I would take DN-S5000's before the Pioneers. Generally, S5000 are way more advanced of a toy than CDJ 800's or even CDJ 1000's. It has a real active platter, plays MP3 and has the alpha-track.

On a side note, my DN-S5000's run way cooler than any of the 1000's I've played with.

  3. I personally like CD decks that have slot-in CD load rather than a tray. It might not seem like a big deal at first but I find it quite a huge plus. You can stop, eject, insert and start a CD, e.g. a full swap in around 3 seconds on a slot-in deck.

  4. i second that emotion

I third it. For real, I haven't been out in over two months since I simply have had enough house. Don't get me wrong I still like it but it's no longer the kind of music I want to hear every time I go out. I need variety.

  5. If oil prices didn't affect anything other than the price of gas itself, I wouldn't be bothered much if it went up to European levels of $5/gallon or so. At those prices we'd see way more practical use of gasoline.

Last time as was at a dealership I was walking around and saw two H2s for sale. They looked quite out of place at a Ford dealership. As soon as I expressed a tad of interest a saleperson simply jumped on me offering me a test drive. Well, I had nothing better to do waiting on my car to be fixed, I decided to take a ride. To my surprise the H2 had 8000 on it, I asked why it was traded in. The guy said that the person "didn't like it." Once the testdrive was over, and I made it clear that I wouldn't buy such a gas guzzling hunk of metal the sales guy told me that the reason it was traded in was due to its immense appetite -- the previous owner simply couldn't keep fueling the beast. At 11-12 MPH in the city, filling up the tank with premium gets kinda pricey.
