I just put together "boxes" for people to dance on when i am working. Wooded carpeted sides and a white/transparet plexi glass top. Boxes are 12' high and 18x24 around. Anyway, im trying to find a way to light them from underneath. Any ideas? I have a strobe in them for now. I was thinking about setting up a pattern like this + , with a different light in each corner that would flash, but i dont want them boxes to get very hot using regular light bulds and dont wanta spend that much more $ on them. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks all.

Anyone wanta fill us in on who bought it? I dont wanta keep hearing rumors from someones brothers friends sisters uncle who works the door.

Sounds correct i remember someone a month or so ago talking about how exit was going to be shut down for awhile. They are supposed to renovate and ive heard end the "hot 97 parties" and return to a house/trance whatever non-hip hop party.

Avalon is normally 20$ if you get on a guestlist. Im sure someone with a list will reply so dont worry about finding one. Generally closes aroudn5-6am. I dont think there is a specific dress code, but "athletic gear, hats and boots" are frowned upon. Dress trendy, nice jeans are fine. Word of advice, watch out for the coat check line it can keep you there for awhile. Otherwise have fun, its a great place, especially with picotto there.

I had to work last night, so dissapointed really, wanted to see johnny. Did he really play a 9hr set like promoted, what time did they close? I heard a rumor about johnny possibly having some sort of friday residency. I dont really now how true that would be except if it was maybe a monthly thing, since it would otherwise contrast the whole idea of "mix" fridays with many different Dj's, just looking to see if anyone else nows somethin.

I saw the flyer, never been b4, another Vic Latino event, so i wasnt expecting much. However, got more then expected. The club is something like the decor at Deep, minus the swings and add some nice couches and what not. But the place really looks amazing, you get a really good vibe from just walking in the door. Lighting is nothing special (dont expect webster hall when you walk in)but thats not what this place seems to be about. Dance floor in the center, with private booths all around. You can come and buy a bottle and chill out if you have the money (grey goose bottle 2 somethin, or haha for the big timers, get your bottle of louie for only 3900) Anyway seems like a place you can bring your girl and chill out, or get crazy and meet some peeps when the dance floor gets pumpin. Music mainly hip hop and alittle cheesy KTU house, but aleast it wasnt lasgo. Younger crowd but not little clubhead kiddies, Everyone good looking, well dressed. Not packed but the girls that were there, all bangin. Drinks prices are expected for the atmosphere ($8+) Security is very relaxed, and the doors peeps are very polite. Admission $15 w/ a glist. Gonna be my new thursday spot. I got to meet Dj serg and he was such a chill guy. Hopefully the place will blow up alittle more and it will be the place to be thurs.

I completely agree, I think the more people who get involved with dance music, the better. Commercializing is going to happen to any song out there that plays on the radio. If more people like the song, the more airtime it will get. I do agree that it can get annoying, but maybe if they consistently had many different "unknown" artist such as AVB on ktu, then you would hear many different songs, insted of the same ones over and over again. With more artists comming on ktu and more songs, people would stop wanting to hear the same ones over and over again, and would be excited to hear whats new, and comming out next. Ktu would then have a 60 song playlist insted 30 songs. Lets expand peoples music knoledge with all different types of dance music, not limit it. I love driving to the club listening to Ktu late night, maybe someone else will like it to if they played some of those tracks during the day. P.S. I dont think AVB is really an unknown artist, except to the general public.

Wish I wasnt still a young one, crobar would just brush me away for now, maybe next year...

Does anyone remember the old Roxy MC? The guy who use to always come out on the stage and be like welcome to SEXY at the roxy...and would give up the info about up comming parties. I always remember that guy, no one else use to have that. I think you guys should get him back, just to keep things official to start off the new year. jsut my 2 cents for the roxy thread

Looking like it might turn out to be a Roxy B-day for me I just hope some others will be out to brave the cold as well

Im takig a limo out for my birthday friday night. Im just wondering where you think the better party will be. I love roxy, whenever the friday parties come around im there. i just dont know how many people are still feelin the friday night there. The last parties ive gone to at roxy werent as crazy as I expected though. Last 2 weeks at avalon have been crazy though. I was having a bad time b4 at avalon, but now things have been turned around. Just looking to have a good time friday night and wondering what will be a better spot. thanks for the help

There is a lot 2 or 3 blocks down from arc, i dont remember the street, but its almost right next to city hall. theres also another 1 another avenue over, i dont rmemeber the streets sorry but both are pretty good i think it was like 20ish last time i was there
