  1. Back in da day-"Miracles" but it was also really good for underage drinking and hooking up but the vibe & music was horrible. I remember once half the dancefloor smelled like puke.

Presently, I'm not sure because I've been out of the scene for awhile but Celeb's was pretty bad if that place even qualifies as a lounge.

  2. if you like hanging out with old people who wish they were young and young people who wish they were old while listening to some fat black bitch scream "you gotta have souuuuul" over some awful tired house beat, then yeah, the party's on fire

You are one mean 'mofo' but I guess that's one way of looking at it. :laugh2:

  3. The irony in it is in Jersey they barely have any hip hop partiers. Because it seems Jersey understands that there are rarely incidents at house music clubs but hip hop clubs are just a time bomb waiting to explode in gun fire.

After all most house venues are about people not looking to fight but getting all dolled up and having fun while hip hop is about proving who is most gangsta.

Wait...so you're saying Jersey clubs could teach NY clubs a thing or two about parties? Buddy, I'm from NJ and they are the absolute worst. I've also DJ'ed at a few NJ clubs and most morons want to hear Hip Hop because that's what people in our state like which I hate.

  4. Anyone know what happened to Celebrities in Haledon? I saw that it was closed this past Saturday and a For Sale sign posted on the window. I'm curious because I used to DJ there. The place sucked crowd wise but they did pull in a crowd on college nights so I'm just wondering what could have abruptly closed the place down.

  5. place needs more girls........ c'mon girls man up ..... and to all u people out there... no i don't go there just for the girls because if i did i wouldn't be there. lol Is there another afterhours spot that is more crowded? Music is good there it just doesn't get packed..

Back even when I used to do afterhours, the lack of girls was always a problem. The only ones you would find were the ones whacked out of their minds or the few really tired ones hanging with their boyfriends but dying to leave. Most pretty women need their beauty rest so don't expect any real hotties at 8, 9, or 10 in the morning.

I remember when I was with my girlfriend, I'd meet up with her at a more mainstream club like Mirage and then tell her I'd be going to Arena for afterhours. She could never understand that but so what. Get laid before or after afterhours to get your sex thang off and then for afterhours for your groove thang!

  6. Strict door policies have been around since the Studio 54 days and probably before then. There are lots of tricks you can do if you're not that good-looking or you aren't surrounded by beautiful women in order to gain entry to the club. Although I never had a real problem of getting into the clubs myself, I knew how to act in front of the door people. Compliment them on their outfit.

I did this once and gained easy access into the Kit Kat Club now defunct. Right away I knew the two door people thought they were the shit. They were totally ignoring the crowd and trying our nerves. I decided to move up to the front and after a minute or two, smiled at the female door lady and complimented her outfit. She smiled back and asked who I was with. I pointed in the direction of my friend and, voila, instant entry.

Again, there are lots of ways you can get into a club and I'm sure everyone here has their horror or success story. Please share by the way. However, if Crobar is actually singling out a certain race of people, that's just wrong. But hey, guys are always discriminated against almost everywhere. We have to pay full price, we have to be with one or more girls, etc, etc.

If all else fails, stay home and spank it or open up your own club or start your own party.

Sounds like a great move. Hopefully it will do to JR what it did to Danny few years back, at Vinyl ...

Anybody knows if this goes afterhours on Saturday morning?

IMHO Jr's career has peaked and climaxed a long time ago-Arena era. And during the height of his career, not even DT could touch him so I don't think he has to worry whether or not his career will be as popular as Tenaglia's. Anybody who was around for Jr's gigs during his little residency at Palladium knows what I'm talking about. As for now, well, let's quote his diva friend Deborah Cox, "Things just ain't the same."
