  5. hey everyone this friday we hope you will all join us for the first cd release party worldwide for chris fortier's new bedrcok cd released this tuesday.. this friday - nerve - bedrock dj- chris fortier plus opening set by Jon Cowan for guest list b4 midnight email sami@nervelounge.com open bar 10-12 here's some infoWith his current Mix Compilation; “Bedrock: Compiled and Mixed†riding high in the dance compilation charts, it’s come to pass that everyone is just now finding out how good Chris Fortier really is. Critically acclaimed by the worldwide dance press and more importantly the clubbing fraternity, it has received stunning reviews and endless chat board discussions on it’s place as one of the year’s top releases. In support of the CD, the first half of his year long world tour has travelled throughout the US and UK, including his bi monthly residency at the lavishly intimate Prologue at The Cross in London; and to places across the globe including Buenos Aries, Prague, Athens, Budapest, Zurich, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Chris is no longer a name just on the U.S. stage, but on the world stage. Even with being constantly on tour, Chris production career has never been healthier with the delicious “Loosing Wait†his first solo production, which has met with a warm response from all the likely sources including Nick Warren, Satoshi Tomiie, and Sasha; who hasn’t stopped playing it on the Delta Heavy US tour. The track is the finale to the Bedrock CD, and is currently in negotiations to be signed by a major. Currently residing in New York, Chris’ roots can be traced to the early nineties in Orlando, Florida, where he was spotted by DJ Icey and quickly thrown in by Kimball Collins as resident at the infamous "Aahz". These visionary and legendary nights served as a platform to bring Sasha and John Digweed to America for the first time, and establish an "Orlando" sound that would become synonymous with clubbers and DJs alike for years to come. As one of the pioneers of the current US progressive DJs, Chris was one of the first to travel the country, playing in cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington and Boston when they were in their infancy. This continued as new markets in Central America and Canada began to appear making him one of the most travelled DJs in the States. In 2000, after his move to New York, he joined the infamous Twilo as one of their residents, playing alongside Dave Seaman for the clubs successful bi-monthly Saturday events. To support his constant touring, Chris was one of the first to release a compilation CD in the States, a typically original move at the time and has realised five more in the space of the last five years. Keen to build the production side of his career, Chris started Fade Records in 1995 and released his first double A sided single “For All the People/ All I Got†under the production name of Fade with his one time surf competitor, Neil Kolo. The Fade sound quickly defined the era and the fashionable progressive Orlando sound. A long-term record deal from the UK and remixes for BT, Sam Mollison, Space Brothers, and Future Force followed over the next few years. In 1998 while submitting a Sarah Mclachlan bootleg of “Plenty†(which was subsequently released last year) to her record label, Chris was offered a remix of a Delirium track called Silence. The remix created a frenzy with such limited quantities being pressed by the label. Eventually succumbing to the demands of the general public after it’s inclusion on Northern Exposure 3, and the buzz it created with DJs like Dave Seaman and Sasha opening and closing their sets with it, the label released it to discover a worldwide chart hit, with it hitting number one in four countries including Australia. More recently Fade have worked on projects for Bedrock, Sarah McLachlan, and DJ Tiesto and are currently working on demos for their first album. Away from the studio and the decks, Chris takes great pride in his role at Balance Promote Group, as founder of the internationally renowned Balance Record Pool, it has become the premier choice for labels to promote their product in the States. As a perennial driving force within the U.S industry it has been a powerful vehicle to kick start the U.S scene into the ever growing healthy state it is currently in. see you this friday - enjoy
  6. ok.... first off, I am sure you guys will rage me for doing a review of my own show but I just don't care. My thouhgts are simple : WOW! Sandra is a first class woman and a first class dj. People may slag her or call her a trance dj but she is so the oposite. She played a mixture of deep progressive breaks, deep progressive tracks and some uplifting progressive vocal tracks. She had nerve jumping til the end with the crowd chanting for "one more" at 5am. Overall it was one of the best vibes I've seen in a long time and I personally can't wait to have her again. Last night was the first time I had the pleasure of listening to Sandra collins and boy was I surprised. No wonder she was named dancestar dj of the year. Definitely one of the best nights of pure music that I've heard this year - mad props to amalia for a wicked opening set - Thanks ladies! last night was absolutely amazing.... - see u all tonight for HALO thanks again Jon Cowan and the nerve family:)

Sandra Collins -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: USA Style: Progressive House Put simply, Sandra Collins is one of the US's finest Progressive House and Trance DJ's. Dubbed "The Trance Goddess" by the American press, her rare ability to combine a powerful groove for the body and an elevating journey for the mind continues to win the loyalty of fans throughout the world. Born into a famous Las Vegas show business family, Sandra is no stranger to the spotlight. She began DJing in Phoenix in 1989 and soon, her name became synonymous with the historic New York 'STORM' raves with Frankie Bones and 'THE FIFTH COLUMN' with Josh Wink. Her passion for dance culture led her to LA in 1992 where she began a 3 year residency at the legendary 'SKETCHPAD'. She also worked as A&R rep for Germany's HARTHOUSE'. US office. From 1995 to 1998, Sandra became the resident at LA's biggest weekly club 'METROPOLIS' with Doc Martin and Taylor. In 1997, Sandra appeared in a Coca Cola commercial and also released her first mix CD, 'LOST IN TIME' on LA label, Fragrant Music. This led to her nomination as "Outstanding Electronica Artist" by California's BAMMIE Awards and "Best Trance DJ" in the 1998 Global DJ Awards. In 1998, Sandra's first 12" was released, 'ODE TO OUR / RED' (Fragrant US) and was voted 'Trance Release Of The Month' by XLR8R Magazine. The initial pressing sold out in Europe and the US on its first day of release. In 1999, her second single, 'FLUTTERBY', was released on Scotland's Hook Recordings and was quickly licensed for compilations such as Nick Warren's Global Underground John Digweed's Bedrock. Sandra's music took her to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico and the US, including the Electric Highway Tour with Fluke and The Crystal Method. She moved to New York in 1998 and played regularly at the prestigious TWILO alongside residents Sasha, John Digweed, Paul van Dyk and Carl Cox. In July 1999, Sandra played the opening night of WOODSTOCK '99 to the largest audience dance music has seen in America, keeping the crowd of over 80,000 on their feet until dawn. The Millenium brings Sandra to you in more ways than you can imagine with two new residencies (Crobar in Miami and Rimel in Mexico City) and her upcoming mix CD, "TRANCEPORT 3" (KineticUS). After Tranceport releases by Paul Oakenfold and Dave Ralph, Sandra is the first American DJ to be included on this series.
