Well, I haven't been to Tangerine yet, but I suspect that like most newer and popular spots (corporate) it will have a long line, have more people inside than should be allowed, and have a dance floor that is too small. But yet, we still go to these insane places! I am an "older" clubber and still haven't learned my lesson yet.

This was my first visit to ICE. Outside, while waiting in the VIP line, I noticed some guy staring at me and my wife. I ran into the guy inside and he asked me if I was Norman Cook, a famous DJ from England. I laughed and told him no, but did mention that I'm a local mobile jock. His name was Steve and he had travelled from England to hear Oakenfold, "the greatest DJ in the world." We parted ways and headed for a good spot in godskitchen. The sound system in godskitchen was near perfect. The sound engineer has done a slendid job setting this up. In each corner of the dance floor huge speakers poured out perfectly mixed trances. You could actually feel the music become a part of you, yet it wasn't painful on the ears. The lighting was awesome. The colors that painted the room never felt intrusive. I felt like I was in a place built as a dance club. Not a restaurant that turned into a dance floor. Another nice touch was having the blast of white smoke, filled with ice cold air, cool you off! It felt great after working up a sweat from the master DJ Perfecto. Oakenfold was at his best. Think DEEP trance. A special thanks to Bill Le who got us in the VIP line.

Went to Rum Jungle Monday (locals night). Nice place. Drummers up in little towers added a nice touch. There is a large curtain that blocks off the dance floor from what looked like a kitchen area. The lights from behind the curtain really put a damper on the ambience. Turn off the lights back there or block them out! One of the projection monitors wasn't working. If they rolled up the screen, no one would ever know.... Staff seemed friendly. Music was decent. Good ratio of guys and ladies. Synbat vegasdeejay.com
