    Best trick is....close your eyes. It always amazes me how easy it is ignore the people on the dance floor that are just standing there when your eyes are closed.

    i often do this at clubs, not really on purpose - it just happens when i'm really listening to the music. problem is, my eyes are often forced open abruptly when i get bumped by a k-head or some fag grabs my butt.

    I even bought goggles that only allow me to see shapes and forms so I don't have to keep my eyes closed the entire night.

    i'm not sure if i'd be more scared of the G-d out middle-aged asian men or some chick in psychedelic ski goggles. tough call.

    wound up there saturday night on a whim. i had heard it was a cool spot, but wow that place blows. there's nothing to the setup at all - it's a bar with a college-type DJ that plays all kinds of music for 20-30 seconds each. it's like one of those 4AM greatest hits infomercials, except they're not really hits from any particular genre. as soon as you're like "hey, i like this song", it's on to the next one, and something totally out of left field.

    and somehow there was a huge line outside for this place?

    in at 10:30, home by 11:30. 'nuff said.

    WOW - that was some of the best music i've heard in a long time, no matter what the genre. i had a permasmile - and i don't know how many times i said "oh, fuuuuuccck" out loud cause of the tuneskis. and the mayan's sound system - OFF THE HOOK.

    the mayan rules - COUNTING THE DAYS TIL DIGGERS.

    i didn't see any of you guys, so hopefully next time!

    I agree with Vicman, a place with that kind of prereq to get in is def not a place I want to be anyway. A bunch of plastic ass peeps, that are full of themselves :P thhhhhhh. Hey weyes then we should have a club that is for cool people, down to earth, and dont bother unless your in love with the music and the vibe.:beer::love:

    that sounds like an awful lot of ugly people. ;)

    i know plenty of people that consider themselves hot, when they're not even close.

    and lots of poeple want to be surrounded by hotties when they're out. i do.

    so you've got lots of people thinking they're hot, and wanting to be surrounded by hotties at this place. i can see the huge line already, and it's not even the weekend yet. and that's just what they want.

    GUEST LISTS DON'T MEAN SHIT.

    okay, to elaborate...

    guest lists don't have nearly as much weight as they do in other cities. i don't know how many times i've been standing outside, waiting forever, completely surrounded by people on various lists, all of us perplexed as to why we're not getting in.

    in LA, everyone's on a list. so be sure to find out the benefits of that list (reduced admission, comps, line priveleges, etc.)

    FYI, if you know anybody that works there, the "house" list is always the best - highest priority (besides being a celebrity).
