  1. *Nobody* pre-programs their sets out here. They have some proven sequences that work, but it's live.

I'm not sure what we are actually all talking about, but I know for a fact that DJs at Body English have an mp3 player loaded with tracks, and they usually play most of them in a similar order every week. There is no vinyl being played at that club.

  2. I went to the soft opening and that was it. The bad house music and nowhere for the common man to sit, coupled with no dance floor, was enough for me to not need to come back. The view of the strip is top notch, though.

  3. lol Good suggestion. I adore the LA (original) Rainbow. Does the vegas one have great italian food too?

Not sure. I find myself pigging out on the appetizer sampler every time I go in there at 5 in the morning. Fried artichokes...are you kidding me? DELICIOUS!!!!

  4. Empire Ballroom is the new afterhours hotspot for Saturday nights. I've heard some good things about it, but I'm always too tired to go there after I get off work. Also, a popular spot for locals is Rainbow Bar...it's pretty much an all night all morning type place. Big bar, delicious food, and a friendly staff. The music is usually rock (not a fan), but it's a place to sit around and have some drinks and food at 5 or 6 in the morning. A good combo would be Body English on a Friday night and then walking across the street to Rainbow Bar (just don't get hit by traffic if you are drunk!), and Saturday hit one of the other big clubs and then cab it over to Empire.

  5. I dont party a marathon night without going to Mix. A long time ago someone mentioned it, then I went and reviewed, and then a ton of peeps from here went too and enjoyed it also. Someone had come in and posted that they were suppose to get a dancefloor. Havent heard since.

What time do you and your peeps normally go there? I'm not into bottle service, so I didn't see a lot of room just to chill unless I get right to the bar.

  6. What time do u usually suggest people to kick it at S R?

Usually they come up to me at the club between 11 and 3...I usually just tell them to head over after they decide to leave the club. I've gone to the Rhino after work, which is like 5am or later, and it's always been fun.

  7. For a one-night deal, yes. Funny that he's teaming up with AM that night, especially after the endless shit you've given AM for doing nothing but stealing Z-Trip's mixes and using pre-made playlists.

I think the DJs at all the big clubs out here use pre-made playlists...mp3s loaded in a sequence on their computers...isn't that what it is?

  8. What's your definition of "ultralounge?" And what kind of music are you looking for? If dancing is such a "must," are you sure you wouldn't rather be going to a straight up nightclub?

Off the top of my head, Mix, Teatro and Tabu are the only places that really tag themselves with the "lounge" title yet have actual dance floors.

What's up with Mix these days? I remember the days leading up to their soft opening, everyone was acting like this was going to be the most exclusive, upscale, trendy, and "it" place to be. I went once and it was ok, nothing more, nothing less. I haven't heard of anyone going there at all.

  9. I hear it is "the" spot. How late does it get good, and is it hard for non locals to get in?

I don't send people over to Drai's...Usually I tell people who come up to me at night on where to go for afterhours and I tell them the Spearmint Rhino. Good vibe, hot chics, you should be tired after clubbing all night so sitting is perfect at that point of the night, and there is plenty of seating there without the pressure of buying a $350 bottle of Grey Goose.

  10. Spearmint Rhino still reigns supreme in Vegas. There's a ton of hot strippers of all nationalities, the bars are accessible, the patrons are pretty easy going, the bouncers are cool, and the mood is laid back and a lot of fun. It's my favorite club of any kinda out here in Vegas.

  11. The cities are all what you make of it. Me, personally, I like the hiphop/latin vibe...so Miami is better. Vegas is mainly comprised of white people. No offense, but mainstream white people I do not really hang out with. Same with women. I date sexy looking dominican and puerto rican women mainly, which Miami has. Vegas has tons of white girls with surgery done (tits, lips, etc) and filipina girls (good looking but go with a guy who has the almighty dollar). I don't mean to offend any of the good people on this board, but these are my honest opinions. I'd rather be in a city where the club is playing fresh hiphop, with a DJ flown down from NYC, with a heavy latin influence, where everyone is wearing something trendy and sexy. In Vegas I see skinny dudes with spikey hair and an untucked white button down shirt and tight jeans. Dime a dozen. Sure Vegas has the glamorous looking nightclubs, but the girls can't hold a flame to the ladies in Miami. I feel like when I'm in Vegas I'm missing out on current and trendy things going on in NYC and Miami...when I am there nobody is asking me much about what Las Vegas is bringing to the table.

And like Vegasguy said...these are my opinions, and I've lived here for almost 3 years.
