You could also try to get it tossed if there are any errors. For example the wrong street, misspelled name, something like that. That's your easiest way out of it.

Not too serious. Can't say without seeing the summons, but it's probably just a minor violation. Go and pay if you don't want to challenge it. It will stay on your record, but it's not even a misdemeanor. There's your no-charge expert legal advice (far too hungover to actually charge anyone in good conscious).

Lisbon can get boring if there too long. I went for a weekend. Braga is nice. Watch out for the drunk sailors in the bars down by the docks. If you are driving, the hills in Lisbon are a bitch with the stick-shifting. The food is excellent. If you are there for a while, drive over to Madrid, now that's a party town. NYU isnt raising CB's rent, it's the Bowery Residents' Committee, which is a homeless advocacy group that houses people over the club. They had some accounting problems and CBs ended up owing a lot of back rent. They've been paying it off, but the BRC wants to double CB's rent come august. That might force Hilly out.
