I'm a DJ. I don't spin at clubs.
What I like about a good club jock is timing.
Get into a song, and then get out of it at just the right time. Sample something that song reminds me of so I can go "yeah I knew those two had the same beat." Fire me up, take me back, read my mind and then just when I think it can't get any better surprise me. Better yet scare me. Do something with the bass and sound that takes me to the edge and makes me start to wonder if this shit is normal.
Can you do that
The other thing is work hard up there. I wan't to see somebody sweatin the decks.

So does President's Day count as a holiday weekend at the clubs?
I don't know too many peopel that get that day of work.

I'll be ther there the same weekend as you. I'm working out my schedule now for hitting all the hot spots. Funny I didn't know it was Presidents day weekend.
My suggestions.
Saturday 18th - "Tao"
Sunday 19th - "Body English"
Monday 20th - "Foundation Room" early then "Jett" Later
Tuesday 21st - "Pure" if your still in town.
Also for hip hop OPM get's high reviews.
Don't forget to rock some afterhours spots.
Drais
Empire Ballroom
etc.
Oh and give us a full report when the trip is over.

I think someone edited my last post or maybe something got screwed up when I submitted it but I had actually thanked you for your input and stated that while Friday - Thursday is a long time I don't know that I could hit every place you had mentioned simply because of lines.
It's funny this year rather than doubtling me, like these guys I traveled with did last year, the same guys are already calling me asking for a schedule because they know based on the info I got here last year that I'll know what's hot this time around. Props to the vegas board.

Rhino is a much better choice. Might want to check out Scores too. Also if you rent a car, and don't cab it, be sure to tell them that when you arrive and ask for free cover. If you cab it, you'll pay at least $20 to $30 per head to get in, no exceptions (since they pay a large fee to the cabs).
I saw this exact thing with our limo driver last year. He said he had to go in to use the restroom. In the mean time I was talking to the cashier about cutting us a break on cover since we had like 8 guys with us that night. She told me straight up that a large percentage of what we paid was going to the limo driver. She may have even said 100%. Sure enough the door guy folowed him outside I'm sure to give him the cash.
Knowing that could you get a free limo ride? "Hey we have 6 guys we're going to Rhino will you drive us for free since your getting the door anyway"

Looking forward to this year being just as cool if not better.
Me and 3 buddies we arrive Friday and leave Thursday.
Only nights I have planned right now are Sunday (Body English) Monday (Foundation Room then Jett)
Some of you Vegas regulars ..help me fill in the rest of my trip.
For reference we liked the music at Pure last year (New and old school hip hop). Whatever scene works best for talking to the ladies is always appreciated.
I'd liek to do Tao but with 4 guys I think I'll need a little VIP assistance to get in there.
I think I have to check out OPM this time around since Masterweb has contributed so much to the board and the reviews have been solid on that place.
I gotta fit Drai's in for afterhours one night too. Any other afterhours spots really hot? Empire Ballroom ( I haven't heard many reviews on this place).
Help me organize my jumbled thoughts.

Some good points MrVip thanks for sharing. Also to add to the #4 you have above. Some of the passes (currently ones for Drais and Tao that I know of) state clearly FOR WOMEN ONLY.
When we used the VIP passes we arrived early. The lines were shorter then and the pass got us in for free. So it worked for what we needed it for.
I will say we went to ICE and had been placed on the guestlist from their site. Well that guestlist closed at midnight. So watch out for things like that.

I've used the passes. For me they worked like a charm. Tangerine, Pure, Ice, Coyote Ugly, Vivid, Bikinis(which sucked) I had passes for each of them last Feb and they all worked. The napkinnights guestlists also worked like a charm.
You don't have to pay for them. Most times they come free however, if you want to make sure you have the ones you need you can buy them for less than 5 bucks most times on ebay.

I'll be back next Feb. I wish I could come back sooner ..3 times a year would rock. Other responsibilites call.
Drais will def get my bottle service cash next time out.
One More Trip Highlight...
I ended up as an extra on MTV's Boiling Points.
They were shooting Sunday Afternoon at the New Frontier.
We stopped in there for lunch just before we caught our plane home.
They had a thing set-up out back by the pool. It was a fake Bikini contest where one girl acts like a psycho and freaks the other contestans out 1 at a time. If they can stand it for 15 minutes they win $100 bucks.
What an ending to an already movie like trip!

Ghostbar was cool because drinks cost a couple bucks less than most other clubs. The view was amazing from the deck. We grabbed a table out there and just took it all in. It was more of a conversation place. We talked to tons of ladies there.
Coyote Ugly is what you make it. You can stand there and watch the entertainment or you can dance and do your thing too. We had a good spot in there and it really just turned into a crazy ass party. They try and get any girl that comes into the place to get up on the bar and dance. It just get's everyone in the party mood. It's not a club .. it's like a southern bar. The women that work there are really hot too.

Great advice on where to go.. I just got back Sunday night.
Here is my recap.
Tuesday PURE - The cabby tried to tell me it wasn't open. My buddies started to doubt me. We got there and we were on the guestlist provided by napkin nights. Went right past the line and right in. I loved the old school hip hop stuff they were playing in the main room (been awhile since I heard Bel Biv Devoe). The place looked great. The staff was really friendly. A+
Wednesday Night - Same deal Napkin Nights guestlist. The staff was real nice. The bartenders too. Same DJ as the night before and again I loved the mix. We got there at 10:00 and watched the pirates cove show from the deck. Very cool. The burlesque show was a nice touch. My only problem with this place is THEY LET TOO MANY PEOPLE IN! It's cool it's a small club but they need to reduce the headcount by at least 100 people. You couldn't even walk to the bar it was just too crowded to move. B+ (reduce th headcount)
Thursday - We were tired of the clubscene after 2 days so the plan was to check out Coyote Ugly for the novelty then head downtown for the freemont street experiance. Well Coyote Ugly turned out to be way more fun than expected. I had bpasses I bought on ebay they worked like a charm saved us 20 bucks each. We didn't leave the place until I think 4am. What a great time. (wierd note on this one. A girl was hanging out with us all night at this bar. Dancing with us. Almost cramping our style. She wasn't very hot. When we left she wanted to come with. So she jumps in a cab with us and when we get back to the hotel she says "if you want me to come up to the room I'm gonna need some money" What kind of hooker hangs out with you in a club for 3 hours buying her own drinks and then tries this shit?

Friday- My friends thought the info I got here at clubplanet was fake.. meaning they thought, because every club we had been to was awesome that every club in town was awesome. So we squeezed in freemont street, football drinks, 10 minutes at glitter gultch and 12 minutes at the oxygen bar.
Then I let them lead the way.. mainly to prove them wrong. One guy had gotten passes from someone at the hotel. So we grabbed a limo and went to Bikinis. We walked in and saw about 80 people in there at midnight. Here is where it gets good. My brother and I go tot he dancefloor. Sober after only 1 drink. and after about 10 minutes we circled back up to the bar to collect our drinks from my other firiends. All of a sudden a bouncer grabs my brother and asks him to leave. I follow him out to find out why? They say he bumped into a guy on the dance floor and spilled the guys drink and the guy wanted to fight him. I explained that I was with him the entire time. We were both 100% sober and that it never happened. I even asked to see the tapes. I told them we had only been there 10 minutes. These guys were so rude. The manager and assistant manager were power stricken jerks. It ended with them blowing me off and me telling them to F off. If I had paid money to get this shit hole I would have really been pissed. What dump I hope it closes in 6 months.
Ok so now my buddy still doesn't think that all clubs are not the same and he drags us to Vivid becasue he had passes from the hotel. At 1:00 am I think there were 30 people there. The music sucked the DJ couldn't decide what to play ..little house, little hip hop ..lame. We did meet some people and hung out. The staff at Vivid was super nice thanked us for coming. Very friendly.
We left there with plans for Drais but when we got there the line was long and the bouncer wanted 100 bucks and for us to get 2 girls to go in with us. Which wasn't that bad.. I had it all hooked up but my buddies decided to call it a night. I've been in there before. I tried to tell them.
Side note we decided to walk from Vivid to Drais .. A pretty nice little haul. On that walk we got approached by 11 differnt hookers. 1 guy selling drugs and a bachelorette party...only in Vegas!

Saturday - Ghostbar. What a view, great staff. Pretty good drink prices. One of the best times we had in Vegas. Loved it!
Left there about 1:30 for Ice. I was supposed to be on the guestlist but it closed at 12:30. No big deal we went on in. Personally it wasn't my style. It was like a rave. Sandra Collins was impressive though. My buddy had a problem at the bar. He likes to get a double shot of yager and a cup of water to sip on the side. They didn't want to give him the water they wanted him to buy the bottle. He felt that becasue he was drinking he should get the water. Turns out one of the other bartenders gave him the water. So all was OK.
OK so the ICE effect.. .WOW.. that is nuts! When the ice dropped I couldn't see anything but bright white for a solid minute. I couldn't even see my own hand in front of my face. I can;t explain it but to say it was amazing. That one effect was worth the 20 bucks. And the sound system in there ..good god I think it was perfect.

Last trip to vegas I went to Drais and loved it.
I guess I was looking to do Drais Friday. Maybe I'll try Thursday as well.
Gonna be tough last time out it was me and two buddies and we had to grease the guy to get in. The line was around the block.

My trip is just 3 weeks away now. I found the guestlist over at napkin nights had a couple of places I wanted to go on Tuesday and Wednesday.
How reliable is the guest list there?

Damn 50's and 30's. Not what I wanted to hear. Of course I wasn't outside much at all last time out.
I've been working on an itenerary. Most every place you listed is in my plan at some point.
I contacted Bill via email a couple months ago. I guess I jumped the gun a bit. He told me to contact him again just a couple weeks before we head out there. Hard to not get to excited about a Vegas trip.
Last time out I had an amazing time. Valet guy hooked us up each night with cheap limo's and a couple passes. 3 guys 5 bucks each and we took one everywhere we went in the evenings.
My favorite spot last time out was Baby's but it's gone. From the looks of BE I doubt it will be missed. I have Body English on the schdule for Friday night.
Drais was good to me last time out. My buddy and I hooked up with a couple Texas girls we met there. It wasn't easy to get in though. We greased the door guy when we saw the line around the block. It shocked the hell out of me whe we emerged from the place and the sun was already out.
I hated Rain.. it wasn't crowded and the decore just wasn't me.
To be honest half the fun I had last time was bucking the system.
Limos, the clubs where we got to the front of the line, vip etc just seemed more exciting. Hell we had a limo ride and vip passes to Speirment Rhino.. the bouncer literally moved a guy from a table near the stage to accomidate us. It's cool to party like a rock star

Ok first I wanted to say hi. I been lurkin on the boards reading up what I can. Finally as my Vegas trip is getting closer I decided to sign up and post.
Thanks to all for some of the great info I have found here thus far.
My last trip to sin city was almost 3 years ago. It was a great time and I hope this trip is gonna be even better.
I am flying in for the Mobile Beat DJ convention. It's being held at the Stardust this year. Kind of a bummer there. I like the club scene and that place is not exactly in the center of the action. Anyway I'll be there Feb 22nd - flying out in the afternoon Feb 27th.
One thing I am wondering .. I have a room at Stardust fopr the convention. It's cheap and I will need to be there for the business end of things. The convention is only tuesday -Thursday. After that I have no ties to the Stardust. I have thought about moving rooms..going down the strip toward the action for Thursday Friday and Saturday.
Part of me says the room is just for crashin so who cares. However, we did hang in the casino shakin off hangovers daily last time out. Even if I got closer like Hard Rock I know the Casino scene is better there in terms of drinking and hanging with a 30 something crowd. Any thoughts? Is moving down the strip worth the hassle?
My other question is whats the weather gonna be like? I know nobody is a weather man here but ..just an average Feb temp night and day will do.
